If, and I'm certainly not saying this is the case, but if she died of a drug problem, or anything done to herself, I don't think people can point to her as a bastion of motherhood.

Even if she did die that way, how does that impact her as a mother? If she was using drugs recreationally then sure, but if she was a) breast feeding b) co-sleeping etc then she would not be doing that, if she was suffering from post natal depression and just couldn't cope with her own depression then that is something beyond her control, it's up to her family/GP to have seen changes in her.

My wife previously suffered from borderline personality disorder and severe depression, after our baby was born two years ago I could see the signs of change in her and sought help immediately, I doubt her family would have missed it either. My wife was diagnosed with post natal depression, despite this depression she was still able to stay away from her previous outburst, in my wife's case it was self harm.

We don't know that is drug related anyway.

I got a week-long ban for the exact same post in response to an ignorant comment last week.

Edit: I'm pretty sure that saying "fuck you" or "fuck off" to anyone regardless of context is bannable now.

Edit that out before you're banned.

not that I am coordinated with the mods, but you know, mods are regular humans and follow common sense.

From what I've seen here, If they believe that a comment deserves a "fuck off" or a similar answer, they'll let it be and the gaffer will remain unbanned. If the behaviour is uncalled for then bans will be handed.

case by case basis.

Mental illness is not self-inflicted, obviously yes, if you take the post completely literally, a fatal car crash is something someone could do to themselves, but I was referring to recreational drug use.

I can't say I knew that much about her other than being Bob Geldof's daughter. But, damn, 25 is no age to die, not to mention her kids having lost their mother. RIP.

This name sounds so familiar, but I don't recognize any of the work listed on her Wikipedia page. Was she involved with a new story or mentioned on a panel show our something? Maybe in a relationship with someone?

25 is really young.

I know who she was, but I'm not familiar with anything she did either. I remember seeing a video of her on Youtube (I can't remember why I watched it lol), My impression of her based on that though is that she is quite attractive and also quite witty, She made me laugh.

It's very sad, even more so because she leaves behind two young children and a husband.

I just don't get why it's front page news in the UK, even my Facebook feed was full of statuses about her.

Well, I suppose it is partly to do with who her parents were and the fact she died so young. Also her mother died young.

We know so far from the police statements that there were no drugs, no notes and she had no note left. It is being treated as a sudden unexplained death.

Maybe she just got a stroke or heart attack. Happens rarely even for young healthy people (my friend died of stroke at age 20). Very sad always when young person dies.

I'm pretty sure if it were anyone moderately famous it would be headline news. All the more so because her mother died young and her dad is quite well known.

Wrong.
Brendan Eich isn't a fellow member and EvilLore can do what he wants because he owns the joint.

Telling other members to fuck off, even when they're being obnoxious, is unacceptable.

As always, if you have questions or concerns regarding moderation, contact a mod via PM.

It's not an automatic ban to slag off a GAFfer, the bile Gaming has given to Gies from Polygon is incredible, and no one seems to get banned for it. I think it really depends on if the person deserves it or not.

It's like prison wardens turning a blind eye to pedophiles getting a beating.

I just don't get it, I mean you never know what goes on behind closed doors/mental health etc but surely if your mother died due to drugs and left you motherless you would do everything in your power to avoid leaving your children in a similar state?

Oh the silly girl, she seemed to have come so far since having her two kids
Horrible drug and a horrible way to go

Well I imagine she was not exactly thinking rationally about it. Come on, have some empathy.

Sadly that's not how the human mind works.

The headlines say heroin OD. I gotta say if you have kids and you're shooting heroin then you really haven't made the proper transition to parenthood.

Peaches would've laughed.
Possibly.

It's almost as if she had an addiction.

I'm not saying she should've been free to take drugs during motherhood, but it's not as simple as "I'm having a baby, I best stop taking heroin" unfortunately.
