Good finale. It was pretty predictable, but still satisfying. I'm looking forward to Season 2. This show had a really solid first season.

I like that even if this show got cancelled the first season managed to tell a good, contained story in 8 episodes. Even the loose ends aren't really loose ends and they could go anywhere from here. Season 2 should be pretty cool.

Yeah nothing really surprising but the 'revelations' were still enjoyable. Plenty to get excited about with season 2.

Looking forward to seeing even more Billie Piper as well next season
/s...

I'm confused with Chandler....

could he turn into a Werewolf at will or was it because of the full moon and bad guys showing up at that time was simply coincidence.... Does he even know he could turn into one? . Would love a screen shot of that. But at the same time, dude was going to die down there with all those vampires, why didn't he change then?

I hope they up the budget, because the vampire was weak and the fights with the lady thralls were pretty meh too.

Perfect chance for the werewolf to come out and instead we get it in a bar.

Still enjoyed it for the most part. I don't want to be normal

An alright finale. The final scene with the vampires was underwhelming.

This show has a lot going for it, but I hope they are a bit more focused next season. There was way too much time with the Caliban story, which seems really self indulgent, and other characters like Sembene and Dorian are not really getting enough time to shine. The fight scenes need some improvement too.

Oddly, the most interesting scene in the finale IMO was with Evelyn, the faux(?) psychic lady. I'm quite interested to see what that's all about.

Good finale. Like everyone else has already pointed out there was a lot of predictable stuff, but it was stuff I really enjoyed seeing.

Pretty sure he can only change during a full moon, which explains why he didn't rip those vampires apart. The "ripper" massacres happen every 30 days, same as a full moon. The bar scene begins with him looking out the window at the moonlight reflecting on the water.

I think he does know what he is, right before the bar fight when they are kicking his chair and asking "do we got ourselves a monkey?" just before he changes he mutters "not a monkey..."

yes, finally been waiting for that moment all season
just wish he transformed earlier and smashes on those pathetic vampire.
Oh well hope he does that shit next season then

Good finale. I kind of expected a bit more, but what I got was good enough.

Fantastic season of television I must say. I'm all aboard the Season 2 hype train. Can't wait.

great show. great season. very disappointing final episode.
Zero emotional weight behind the transformation. I still don't get why Chandler chose there and then. Granted, we all expected it during the Brides of Dracula assault, but when/where it did show up was a real head scratcher.

Also, really? The whole kill the head and they all immediately drop dead trope? Like drones in *insert every modern metallic robot alien movie*??

Also, why didn't Mina drop, too?

Great show. Great season. Disappointing finale.

I'm watching the episode right now and I'm just so tired of Caliban's story. I'm just... not interested in this whiny dude.

Lol @ Dorian Gray getting rejected though.

Edit: oh man that is terrible makeup. Oh Caliban. Dumbass.

Disappointing finale. Not a bad episode just disappointing considering some of the previous episodes.

The best episodes have been the ones almost entirely focused on Vanessa, not surprisingly.

I was quite surprised with the sudden fatherly feelings from Sir Malcolm towards Vanessa. Did that take anyone else by surprise?

Vampires were all weak sauce. Hope they give Dracula the respect he is due in Season 2.

Hopefully Victor can work on Billie Pipers vocal cords so the Bride of Frankenstein can at least make herself understandable next season.

Dorian is a boring character so far and his story doesn't real seem to connected to the rest of the gang.

Malcolm's fatherly feelings didn't surprise me. I felt like it was heading down that route, made clear last week by Ethan's comments.

Dracula better be baller as fuck.

Dorian still annoys the shit out of me. I was happy when Vanessa crushed him and made him feel rejection

Hmm, decent finale. Didn't take things nearly as far as they could have been taken. I was actually surprised that Sir Malcom shot Mina because I expected a more interesting outcome, lol. Vanessa becoming a vampire, or Mina turning out to be Dracula, or some other sort of twist. Oh well. Solid episode, nothing spectacular. As long as Eva Green stays with the show there's hope that it'll realize its potential greatness, eventually.

I agree with pretty much all of this.

so I liked the finale all right, but it had very few surprises.

It's definitely one of the weaker episodes.

Personally, I am most disappointed that the "big" vampire scene was so small and didn't take place during a stage performance. Everything was set up perfectly for it to be a Penny Dreadful play!

Chandler, I think, has become much more interesting than he used to be. In retrospect, I like the slow burn characterisation approach they took with him. Now we know
he is a gunslinger, hunted by Indians, hunted by his Dad, game for a little fun with Dorian, an American Werewolf in London and potentially a former priest.

Pretty good overall, with many ways his story could continue.

The person I am least interested in at the moment is Victor, which surprises me.

Dorian and Sembene will hopefully get their due in the next season.

I liked how they set up Sir Malcom's next storyline with the "faux" psychic and Miss Ives potential exorcism.

EDIT: one thing that really bothered me was the "killing the boss deactivates all minions" trope. It's just played out by now, and didn't explain Mina either. (Though perhaps it is because she was sired by Dracula himself).

Fantastic first season! What made it even better was that they used the classic "wolf-man" design on Chandlers werewolf!

What I want to see in season 2:
- Introduction of Prince Vlad of Walachia
- Traveling to Egypt and encountering The Mummy
- Jekyll.

The show is unbalanced. You wait for Eva Green and Timothy Dalton scenes and just wait out the rest. The other actors need to step their game up.

pretty solid episode, really liked the Wolfman design & reintroduction of the psychic. hopefully season 2 can build on this potential.

i also thought caliban's arc was very sweet... great retelling of a classic story

What? Frankenstein and Caliban? Hell even Chandler isn't unbearable outside his GF drama.

Caliban is awful IMO. His scenes go on forever, and they try to wring out so much sympathy for him, despite the fact the he deserves almost none. I was sad Frank didn't shoot him.

Everyone else I like, even Brona. We just need some more exploration into their character, now that Vanessa has been so well established.

I just love his monologues he has some of the best lines and deliveries in the whole show the actor really does a great job with the character.

Not to mention his intro monologue in episode 3 remains my favorite out of the whole show.

I enjoyed the finale, tho it wasn't as good as the last couple episodes.
It does setup season 2 very well and I'm glad Dracula wasn't one of the minion Vampires.

Things did progress pretty predictably tho I wasn't expecting Malcom to sacrifice Mina to save Vanessa.

And yes! finally we get the wolfman..Ethans giving us a great Larry Talbot..a good man thats cursed to do horrible things and you know him and Caliban are gonna be throwin down next season when he finds out what happened to Brona.

I prefer the classic wolfman makeup so I'm glad they're not going full on quadruped.

Caliban and Vanessa are the best characters on the show. Not saying that the others are bad. Just my personal opinion. I think all the characters have had amazing performances, aside from the Ethan teaching Frankenstein to shoot scene.

WTF at Malcom saying
"I already have a daughter" as he shoots Mina. That was one of the cruelest things to say, especially weird as he's been trying to save her so desperately the whole season.

I actually think my favourite actor in this show is Harry Treadaway. Never seen him in anything before, but he blew me away. Eva Green can be juuust a little too hammy at times.

Cruel? Mina is already dead as she was a full on vampire.

Eh, we don't know enough about these vampires yet to tell if they're truly soulless or if they're just supernaturally-enhanced people with bloodlust who've made a pact with Dracula. In any case, Malcom couldn't have been sure.

Great introduction season. My main gripe is mystery negro is still mystery negro. No character development for him at all.
