I don't understand, does everyone hate Billie Piper because of her accent? I'm not from Great Britain but I can understand everything she says, and I'm pretty sure her accent is authentically done.

I agree. I'm no expert on working class Belfast accents, but it sounds decent to me, and I have no problems understanding her.

Vanessa kind of carpet bombed the entire cast. Basically, if you came anywhere near her, she'd crush your soul and leave you butt naked in front of everybody else. It was amazing.

Sambene did right by staying out of that room.

I was thinking how cool it would have been to have a scene with Sembene in the same room essentially talking to the Demon.

I'd almost see it playing out that the Demon wouldn't be able to read Sembene for some mysterious reason and Sembene would directly talk to the demon in this incredibly terse exchange.

Pulling a literal Magical Negro may be a bit too much.

It's all about how it's done. It's not like they're doing much with him right now. Also this show seems to delight with playing with those stereotypes and tweaking them. It didn't happen, but we'll see what they do.

Man, it's crazy that this season's already over.

I had nightmares last night after watching that episode. lol

People gotta find at least one woman character per show to hate on.

Pft, accurate or not, that accent is grating to all hell and the show grinds to a halt when she's around because there's nothing interesting going on with her.

Great episode. Except when Vanessa
bounced off the wall near the end.
lol. Way too OTT.

Some of the hate in here for her is pretty baffling to me honestly. She's not the best actor on the show but she does her job. She doesn't distract me at all.

There's gotta be something else to this hatred. It's very, very over the top some times to the point where I think it extends beyond her performance in this show...

Maybe some brits can shed a little light on this.

I wonder is It a dislike for the accent she's portraying..rather than she's doing a poor job of that particular accent.

and forsure someone in casting must have noticed how good she would translate from this

My gf pointed out that she only seems to freak and switch when people touch her.

Liking this alot even though it is stupidly thin on plot. One min the guys is hunting his daughter, the next hes going to africa the next hes being a nice guy to eva then the next scenes hes screaming at her.

Frankenstein just lurks by windows, my gf actually said "OH NO!!!" when harttnet went outside, she thought he was going to get power tackled into a neck break haha

I have seen people (allegedly) from Belfast on this forum defend it, but I'm from Scotland, have been to Belfast a lot, lived in England and hger accent is to my ear, inconsistent and all over the place, not to mention unnecessary. She's a cockney, let her be a cockney prostitute, hardly changes the show.

Finally caught up.

Seriously though what the fuck with Chandler. He's my second favourite character in the series, no lie. Behind Eva of course. Hopefully the finale reveals what/who Chandler really is.

I wonder if her cockney accent is worse.

I'm catching up with last week's episode.

What the hell am I watching.

Eva's Irish accent is superior to Piper's.

The Devil is my new favorite character, he's fucking hilarious.

This is a depressing time skip. Hard to believe Caliban hasn't murdered more innocents during this.

kat dennings is shit tier. i already thought thor was a terrible movie but her inclusion in it didn't help.

those nudes tho.....whew

also believe it or not i'm not even an eva green fanboy, i just found this picture funny. only seen a few of her films. she's been killing it this year though. waifu-worthy

edit: did y'all see the new 300? hottest girl of the year. the wonder woman we deserve.

I love how every episode Sir Malcolm is exposed more and more as a total asshole, from the first episode he seemed the typical Victorian gentleman explorer.

Well, the "typical Victorian gentleman explorer" archetype usually involved whole lots of enslaving, murdering and pillaging in far away places.

I'm actually very glad they are portraying him as a credible (read: nigh amoral) Victorian adventurer.

So I'm all caught up. I'm enjoying the show and all the nods to the monsters and literature. The wolf in the mirror next to Chandler was great. And hands down, Sir Malcolm is the best character. I don't care if it turns out that he killed more people than Dracula, the ripper, and that punk ass Frankenstein's monster, he will always be number 1. Awesome beard too.

On the other hand, fuck how they handled Van Helsing. Great actor and I wanted to see more of him. Now a quick question about the quarantined ship the team boarded a couple episodes ago. Was the name of the ship Demeter when they showed the exterior? I couldn't make it out on my tv.

still pissed about the disrespect to Van Helsing shown on this show...
and Frankenstein's monster can fuck off and die I was actually liking the second frankenstein that was killed.

Can Dorian show some extra special power or just something that makes him unique beyond bedding anyone? Can we stab him yet or something? Or include Dorian in saving Eva Green?

Anyone knows Eva's contract on this show is she coming back season 2? Seems weird she is commited to this show?

Why is it weird that's she's committed to the show? From and Actors POV it's probably a very easy show to film and it doesn't look that demanding as far as location shooting goes since the majority of scenes happen in doors.

I take it you've never read The Picture of Dorian Gray?

Why would it be weird? It's a highly prestigious show created/written by an Oscar winning writer. She's been in a few movies recently, but it's not like her career is on fire or anything, and her role in PD is as meaty as they come.

Yep
Dorian Grey is immortal as long as his picture is unharmed. All the harm done to him falls on the picture.

Also watch the necklace let Chandler control his wolfside.

He betrayed the US, so he probably defected to the indian side during the war. Or he could be one of those children mentioned by himself.

Man.... I need to see Chandler wolf out, if he even is one..

I've been werewolf>vampire my whole life

But if they make him be a Werewolf.... Please... Please let him not basically be a direwolf
I need a on two legs, 8 foot tall killing machine... Wouldn't mind if he decapitated Frankenstein monster while he is at it, hate that dude
especially after he killed van helsing

If Chandler is a werewolf, he definitely needs to be more human in appearance. I think going with the old two-legged Hammer or Universal style Wolfman would fit the aesthetic of the show much better than a four legged creature.

I'm guessing if he is a werewolf than the opening scene in episode 1 would have been him right? So he's gotta be pretty humanoid to climb up a building and pull someone through a window.
