People are streaming "shows" via PS4 twitch..

Ustream is kind of boring... I haven't watched much but it seems like every time I click on a Playroom stream it's somebody just sitting there looking at their phone or doing nothing. I liked that on twitch people were usually playing or at least pretending

I guess it was good to have hope. They just reactivated my account. Told me to change the name of the game in the dashboard to something other than the playroom next time. Problem is that we made sure to do that last time too so I hope they don't ban us again this weekend.

Wow, I wasn't expecting them to reactivate people's accounts. Good luck with your show next weekend.

Half of your total posts in 6 years are in this thread?

Hah yup. I've never been much of a contribution to NeoGAF, but I'm on here all the time and love the discussion. I'm very passionate about gaming as you can see on the show. Hopefully that draws some people in. Sorry that I've been such a lurker.

My very limited experience with Ustream was similar. They didn't seem to have the same buzz and enthusiasm as the twitch playroom streams. Twitch also kind of feels more naughty, because there is always the sense that you could be watching something that will be shut down in a few minutes, or someone will take out drugs and the chat will light up, or little stupid things like that that I found myself getting a kick out of.

Tubed in to the spartan show for a sec to see how bad it is. Never really watched it.......

First thing I see is co host sounding out J R P G all confused like and asking what it means in response to a viewers question.

Please don't tell me you pronounce it as jar-pig or jur-pig or something...

I say JRPG by sounding out the letters.

....you can not be serious. I mean I understand that they love CoD. I understand that he doesn't know about the Soul's franchise. I understand that they are casual gamers through and through. but how in the flying flippers do you not know about the existence of an entire GENRE that was once a massive force in the gaming industry..... Hoooooww?!

Is there still no way to disable the background music in the playroom?
No, buy a computer webcam if you want to do an online show, ps4 is not capable of doing it without obnoxious stuff that limits most users to only putting up with it for short bursts (robots, that music, lack of sourced gameplay footage etc), the infrastructure vlearly isnt meant for it yet

What a boring stream. What the hell is he doing behind the couch anyway?

I'm out. Somebody screen cap for us if there's panties or boobs.

Still can't believe they let him have his show, while shutting everyone else down.
Whether or not he's knowledgeable, at least he's trying. He put in effort to try and make a show out of this. Getting to the point where he can an interview with Shahid, a Sony Exec on his show. And honestly, he's gaming focused on his channel, and it fits Twitch. Everyone else is just kind of screwing around with no aim or focus.

So far, this isn't the best interview ever but it's still pretty cool. Hopefully he gets better at this as time goes along. Hell, Sony should be kind of making a big deal out of this. Right now, on the PS4 itself, you can watch a Sony Exec that signs games on a rapid basis, talking to a normal gamer. And you can throw your own input at it. If Mr.Mischa keeps this up, he can become a staple Playstation personality. He's always at the top of the of the view charts so it's a possibility.

Paid subscription for what? I'm confused.

Popular twitch channels can apply for a subscriber button. It doesn't offer much in the way of benefits, just a way of showing support.

Used to be you'd no longer see ads in that stream, but they did away with that when they lowered the requirements to getting a sub button. Benefits now are just you get an icon next to your name in their chat, and you get custom emoticons to use in any chat.

There's a crazy stream up right now with a Thug and a Tranny.

At one point the tranny was up in the camera wanting to flash hers boobs and making funny faces....lol

Can't find link on Ustream site. Search for Trendzsetta9 - NYC swag on 1000000

I just came out of that stream and I don't know what to think about life anymore

I haven't really been watching a lot of these streams, pretty funny stuff.

Anyway, I guess the fun is over for many of you on GAF. I didn't want to burn out early with these so I only occasionally jump on to watch game streams and this one stood out while I was browsing the streams on PS4.

so since Twitch is trying to act serious about "non-gaming content" when will they start cracking down on all the channels that have weekly "game discussion" shows including both major game sites and individual pro-gamers, where they play no actual games and instead sit around talking?

which in it of itself is also listed in the TOS, specifically, saying "its okay to talk with your subs for a few minutes, but this is a gaming site and you need to spend the majority of your stream gaming"

otherwise they just look like hypocrites looking for an easy pat on the back for something that was recently in main stream news

"Majority of your stream" is pretty lenient. I'd guess most everyone who spends a lot of time talking spends much longer gaming right after. Even something like "Cooking with Frag" is maybe an hour, then he spends the next 6 or 8 hours gaming.
