People are streaming "shows" via PS4 twitch..

Does Twitch have an age restriction on broadcasting?
Yeap:

The Twitch Service is not available to persons under the age of 13 or to any users previously suspended or removed from the Twitch Service by Twitch. In addition, if you are between the ages of 13 and 18 (or between 13 and the age of legal majority under applicable law), you may only use the Twitch Service under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to be bound by these Terms of Service.

oh wait a minute. This girl plays COD. She has heard worse I'm sure

Someone just asked "why do you want 500 people watch you each McDonalds"

Don't we all want that?

Man what a bummer, this is going to end up really badly, and we won't get any more things like spartan show : | or even just watching people having fun.

Parents, if you are letting your kids stream... stay with them, supervise the chat, the internet it's a horrible place, or even better don't let them do a stream.

If you want to get technical about it, we actually lose money on any integrated streams since they're free-to-use, not monetized and we still have to pay the bandwith. So no, it's not because of monetary reasons.

Also, I agree with those who say the Playroom streams shouldn't be allowed. I would much prefer if we could make it so that game simply couldn't be broadcast to Twitch, period. Ustream doesn't have the non-gaming content rules that we do, so they can always go there.

That would suck if Playroom was removed, I mean there are some legitimately good/fun streams.

Does this mean Playroom streams will default to JustinTV? #Kappa

So the advert that plays on "The Playroom" streams; Sony getting the money then?

Yeah, it's not per se an issue which should be addressed by sony. Twitch definitely should have a backend monitoring which alerts mods if the viewers of a channel suddenly skyrocket. Dunno if they already have something like that or even have enough mods for it, but I think that's a necessity, especially with the easyness of streaming via nextgen consoles.

Twitch are far too slow. And if they can't moderate channels in a timely fashion, Sony will have no other choice but block certain types of streaming from games... and we don't want that.

In the meantime, I hope GAF do the sensible thing and not take part with those trolls :)

They could also pack up the registration with more restrictions...

"My mom doesn't care"

This the american dream right here on stream. Eating McDonalds fries and chicken nuggets in your bed.

I think what Sony could do is make it so you have to enter a credit/debit card onto your account (they would do this to verify your address) and make sure the stream ID is linked to the console before you can stream anything on the PS4. Then if someone does something really bad (say like strip a women naked without consent) and it gets banned for a TOS violated, the console it auto banned from being able to stream again (and in serious cases the local authority is notified).

This way, the streaming system can pretty much stay as is and the good streams remain and the bad ones get banned from streaming again.

As I mentioned earlier, my niece is 11 years old, 80%-90% of her friends are on Skype, Youtube, Facebook (video) etc. I find it really weird people on a site like Neogaf don't realise all kids these days see the internet as part of their everyday lives.

Saw this thread earlier, but came here after seeing Kotaku link to it..what is going on.
I click on some link and there is a girl in bed with a mask on burping, she's 11..what is going on.
Another stream has a couple of guys playing sick beats.

I am on vacation so admittedly do not have time to read all the pages in this thread, but the first thing I thought was I could use this as a replacement for DropCam, which I currently have setup near my TV room to keep an eye on my house and pets.
Is this feasible? Can I set the Twitch stream to private? (I've never even checked out Twitch)
Thanks to anyone that can answer, I could potentially say $99 a year on a subscription that can go towards games naturally, so I am curious.

checked the settings and yes, you can add an access code, without it nobody can watch your stream. <- that's all doable using a web browser, not the ps4 itself (I assume).

I hope Sony just default to Ustream so we don't have to hear the Twitch faithful complaining everyday that PS4 streamers are ruining their favorite hangout.
