Gotta love the community of morons on some of these. Warned that group of middle eastern guys that they might want mods to control the chat a bit so they don't get shut down and I got "ZIDIGAN GO GET RAPED" from the chat. lol

Dumb question. Are the comments coming solely from PS4 users or Twitch comments. I was laughing my ass off at some of these streams last night, but then I watched one with like a kid and his parents playing Playroom and it was non-stop racist comments. Like I honestly feel bad for anyone who is a minority that tries to do stream stuff, because everyone I've watched has just been racist comments. The "show us your tits" stuff is dumb and juvenile, but god damn I didn't realize the internet was that nasty. Especially with fucking kids. It's kind of like my experience with Xbox Live but in visual form.

Both. Though, I'm guessing most of the comments are coming from the twitch website because my guess is most of these are written by <16 years olds.

Comments are mostly coming from the twitch site of the video. It's barely moderated and full of human scum.

It's from both PS4 and Twitch if I understand it properly and yes, there is a lot of nasty shit being said/done to people on some of these streams. It's kind of sickening to be honest.

Vast majority of the comments are coming from viewers on their PC's watching through the website I would presume.

And yes, the internet is vile and disgusting, Xbox Live stereotypes were always hilarious, masses on the internet are terrible no matter where they are.

Twitch comments but people on PS4 can also comment from the twitch viewer.
 
Those kind of comments are uncomfortable, but I think these people knew what they were inviting when they turned the streams on. At least, that's what one family told me when I warned them about internet crazies.
 
God, watching the spartan stream and him just dodging a simple question like what his favorite game of all time or in general is and basically just refusing to answer or giving some shit answer like "This playroom is my favorite game now"... just irks me a bit. Then he's like "he's just trying to get laughs" which is stupid. People aren't trying to hurt your question, it's just a typical question that gamers ask other gamers (at least in my experience). Him getting all defensive about a simple question is just stupid. Just makes me think more and more that he isn't in this genuinely and is more in it for the notoriety and twitch crap since he's always worried about and mentioning his viewer numbers.

Definitely mostly Twitch comments, and a lot of the streamers have no clue what Twitch even is so have no way to moderate the comments.

He's just in it to try and build a little audience and hope to grow so he can start making dat Twitch Monaaay. Good thing Youtube isn't a source to be streamed to from the PS4.

Dude needs to limit his stream (show) to like 3 hours. Format it well, keep it moving with topics and callers and call it a day. No way can he hold an audience for the marathon streams that he is running, he is just obsessed with the viewer count and can't end it early. You gotta leave em wanting more, exhausting your audience is never a good strategy.
 
Yah spartan lost me. Sony needs to fix the chat and what streamers see. Only two lines and sometimes it skips like 4 or 5 messages at a time super fast? Dumb.

And Twitch needs to ban scum chat posters as mentioned before but won't hold my breathe. Really hope sony changes and puts Ustream as the default streaming site. Not a fan of twitch in general and quality has been infinitely better on the ustreams I have seen vs twitch streams.

Yeah, UStream is so much better in all regards. No idea why they did go with Twitch as a default.

I don't really agree with this.
For one, most modding is done by the owner of the channel and their trusted mods and once Twitch Admins start handling that, people start to feel a little put off by that.
There are also not enough admins to handle the job anyways.
IOn what ways is Ustream better?
Chat on Ustream sucks and so does the viewership. You can't really get any traction there.
Branding yourself on Twitch is also better as well.

i was on it a bit ago and he had already transitioned into the full blown "like or follow me" spam routine. i can't stand when people do that. i wanna watch you talk about game things not talk about how much you like that i'm watching you. the worst is the people who hold giveaways hostage until they hit certain subscription or viewer counts and i bet this guy isn't far from that stage.

UStream is more of a personal thing where you see the person whereas the Twitch integration was mainly for people streaming them playing actual games. I don't think Sony ever thought that this type of medium would take off or be used so heavily early on. I bet there will be some sort of UStream app at some point for this large "living room" chat/gaming stuff that is going on right now tho.

He kind of already did something like this earlier. He said he wouldn't do another giveaway until he had 500 viewers which wasn't a large difference from where he was, but it still happened. There was also discussion of a donation thing as well, but I don't know if he was endorsing it or just reading it from the chat and thinking about it since it was proposed by the chat. Probably just gave him the idea for it when he hadn't even thought of it before.

No idea? Twitch is a phenomenon growing at a white hot pace and is by far the #1 streaming site for this stuff. UStream is nowhere close. It's not rocket science.

What it needs is more option on right the Twitch app. Something like a Ban or moderation option right on the PS4. Parental control, banned words, comment per second from each user to slowdown etc.

I don't think that a system like that would work or be efficient enough. I feel like if people want better moderation tools, they should head to a PC to do all of that stuff and more because it's already there and would likely be way better than doing it from a PS4.

Yeah this is definitely needed. There are currently no ban or moderation tools in place on the PS4 which is why at least in the interim while that is set up, we need Twitch admins to step up and ban broadcasters and commentors who are committing some pretty nasty acts at the moment.

You're right, I honestly completely forgot for a second that the PS4 stream isn't even supposed to show these streaming 'shows'. This is what GAF does to me!
 
Why is the PS4 camera 3d in the first place? None of those Robots seem to acknowledge anything happening in a three-dimensional space.


Yes, stuff like that is annoying me, I can't do anything about it :(
