The team at Rare have been working closely with Microsoft Game Studios on an “Advanced Ranking System”, which should ensure a balanced set-up when it comes to competing online, although we’ll have to wait a little longer before discovering exactly what both of them have in store. Players can choose between “Ranked” or “Unranked” games, with the former providing few options of choice to the player along similar lines to Halo 2 Matchmaking, while the latter provides complete customisation to the player.

Good stuff, I absolutely loathe Halo 2's matchmaking so it's good to see that Rare is taking a step forward and including unranked customizable matchmaking.

MM is awesome,I wouldn't have played Halo half as long otherwise...nothin like goin into a custom game where the leader plays the same mode/same level all game :lol

I wouldn't bet on a server list just yet... even Halo 2 has, "complete customisation to the player." in custom games.
