It probably had something to do with proving Kashihara was right as per her obsession. What an oddly fatalistic and deluded woman. Thank goodness she did not become involved with Kashihara. Imagine how loopy Jun would have turned out if he was born. It may have also had something to do with him being able to hear the voices of the Xibalba aliens.
Well, I just finished it, and I really enjoyed the whole ride. Even though it shows its age, I enjoyed playing it a lot more than Persona 1. I'd like to jump right into Eternal Punishment, but it'll have to wait because of all the Fall releases that are coming up.
Also, I enjoyed getting to punch Philemon square in the face after hearing about how this was all like a game to him.
The ones that say things about colors like yellow and blue? Those things were my favorites! I never once managed to anger them even once through the whole game.

Yes! Yes! They were just as incoherent and prone to babbling in Japanese. But as Credo mentioned they're really hard to get angry, you pretty much have to try.

They were the only ones that I had a perfect record with. I remember I only angered that horse demon, Kinnara, once out of like 20 responses.
Weirdly enough, the demon that I had the hardest time with through the whole game was Jack Frost, one of my favorites from the series. I always got the impression that Jack would be a happy-go-lucky type, but I think I succeeded with him ONCE! Every other time was full of, "You're lying! I feel hot inside my chest!"
The demon I've had the most luck with is Catoblepas (actually, pretty much all of the "Snappish" demons seem to be easy to chat with), which is good because he's in
all of the Shrines
and it made for tons and tons of Free Tarot. Plus, he seems so genuinely happy that Tatsuya tries to persuade him to join their cause.
I've been thinking about Persona 2 again. (Surprise) And the possible release of a psp version of Persona 2:EP. I was wondering would the game become more complicated if the contact system were more similar to Persona 2:IS instead of as it is now. I for one found the simplified contact system in P2:EP far too simplistic... I'd also given thought to which contacts characters used and what they would use were the system more in line with the first game. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?
EP doesn't give you a list of options when performing a single-character contact, right? Is that the only way the contact system differs? (It's been a looong time since I last played EP.)

Can someone tell me if you lose your experience/progress if you abandon a quest in theater mode? I've been doing the Hemerlin quest for ages now and I just wanna get back to the story, if I abandon will I have to start from the beginning/lose the experience I've gained?

Combo Contacts also change depending on who the first character you select is. So Ulala + Baofu is different from Baofu + Ulala.
Anyway, I think we have a pretty good idea of what Maya, Tatsuya, Elly and Nanjou would use. Ulala would probably do flirting and maybe a makeover, Baofu would definitely have one about getting drunk... Katsuya might have one talking about
I am not sure but as long as you are still in Kass she'll have a chance to show up anywhere. I had an easier time of it by using Estoma but if your levels are too far from the 'sweet spot' you may just have to run through until you find her.

Funny enough, just returned after spreading the rumor and BAM she shows up. But I don't have that skill or am at a reasonable Persona level for it, AFAIK. I'm still in the sub 10's on the level 10 because I'm challenging myself to avoid as much EXP as possible to see if the easiness of hard actually suddenly changes. Of course, I'll probably mumble grumble about this if I have to grind, but so far I haven't had too many issues.
Also gained two new Persona's that are "Normal/Good" for Yukino and Tatsuya, leaving Eikichi and Maya with the last two starting Personas. I haven't returned the starters to Igor, because I don't think the items would be worth it?
Also what is the point of Tony/the foreign exchange student's shop? He has accessories that don't do anything. :/
Also am I the only one that misses the Bikini Line's fan translation
that was highly offensive with the gay lisp
? I mean, it was offensive but it was hilarious to me at the same time because of the "Am I hot or what? WELCOME TO BIIIIIKIIINIIIII LINE."
Now to get Hula of Misfortune'd until I lose my 40K I gained from negotiations.

The difficulty starts to spike once you reach Aoba Park in my opinion.

Tony's shop will have items that vary in usefulness depending on your play style and what rumors you spread. I think I gave him good selection but terrible buy back prices which makes sense. I think he has it pretty bad storyline wise. He speaks the language poorly, appears to be high on drugs and has the town spreading bad rumors about him. Poor kid.
I never saw that translation in that way because he was always after a certain party member...
Yeah, but it gives only one hint. That's the problem.
Also figured it out:
Wind
Fire
Wind
Opposed to:
Fire
Wind
Fire.
So it seems the fusion spells follow a chart of "two of the same, one different" and "sword + element" or "two of the same element for a bigger spell of element" so far.

. Level 14 versus us at level 10-9 (Eikichi being the only level 9). Wasn't too bad. Agi Carded Persona for Tatsuya and Eikichi's starter's persona sword attack made pretty good work against them. Ginko and Yukino doing some damage but not enough with their personae. Maya got berserked (nearly screwing me over in healing, thank god for Pixie being on Ginko) but did work with her guns for weak physical.

Yasuo actually dies [do we find out if he's alive in Eternal Punishment? Forget] at the hands of "King Leo," "Lady Scorpio" is Anna who Yukino is "trying to save." Despite the fact that Anna isn't really a gang-kid but a kid that joined the Joker's organization after she blew her leg out IIRC.
Now is when the game starts to pick up. But the dungeons also become a big longer.
Edit: I also love how dead this thread is. Goes to show how bad the PSP's market is in the west.
I just hit the 50,000 coin jackpot on the slot machine! =o Speaking of which, does the casino eventually stock (or can it be made to stock) better prize items?
go talk to Toku-san, the homeless guy, at Honmaru Park in Rengedai? After that you need to spread a rumor at Kuzunoha Detective Agency I think? Or just go there in general haha

Nah, just had to go there. Opened the dungeon now. Now I gotta head bang against the Orb of Learnings hints for three new fusion spells.
Water Wind Water doesn't seem to work. And it's a "water on all" spell that requires Wind in the second slot so I dunno WTF I'm doing wrong. Maybe I need to put Malaqua in the first slot...
Nevermind: This gives a good hint, but the descriptions should be edited to match the PSP version or at least made a bit more clear as "medium" damage isn't included in any of the spell descriptions but is stated on the PSP version.
Man, these Masks are making it hard to stay low level. They're jumping me in EXP a bit and running from them is a bit of a pain. Plus they're easy to guess what is weak since the color of their robe is generally the yang/yin/weakness of the opposite element.
Also seem to be gaining max rank for the Persona's quickly with fusion spells. Not that I'm complaining but I think this is going to eat into my 100+ card stocks soon because I'm not too sure how useful returning Personae are outside of clearing room for more Personae to take on.

Clearing Persona can lead to more cards, rarer cards, accessories and gear and the occasional magic item. Do it. The only persona I ever held onto were the starters and ultimate.
You're not going to have to worry about cards very soon as demons will soon start to give out 20+ cards when asked not including Free Tarot.
I've been busy in the factory myself which has kept me from posting.
