Persona 5 delayed to Summer 2016 for PS3/PS4

Why were they so adamant about convincing us it was coming in 2015?

This was beyond predictable to everyone but Atlus, it seems.

I mean... it was certainly wishful thinking to believe that it was still going to make 2015 despite not having a release date or any more promotional material than two trailers in September. That said, considering that they've been repeatedly saying it would still make 2015 fairly recently, I think it's still understandable to be upset, if only at the fact that those people have either been lying to us or have been lied to, as Atlus has to have known that this game was going to slip to 2016 for a while now.

That said, it's probably better for the game than if it did come out in Q4 2015 and get slaughtered by all the other shit coming out. Unless of course the US release winds up being in fall of 2016 in which case it's getting slaughtered anyway, especially if FFXV hits around that time.

Not surprised honestly.

Might even be abetter slot for this game - summer is usually super dry.

More Fallout4 and Destiny time for me.

Yeah, with them taking so long to show anything, it felt very improbable they'd release of this Fall despite what they were saying.

December 2016 seems possible for an NA release. or 2017.

I've been skeptical of the 2015 date for a long time now. I would say "CALLED IT" but I think most people called it. I'm okay with the delay because there was no way to play X and P5 at the same time.

Can we say the PS4 has no games for fall now?

But on a serious note, there is too many big hitters during winter, Call of Duty etc. Summertime is quiet so a great time for a big game to release and have little competition

If you like risking a ban to say flatly incorrect things you can....

It's also how Persona 4 released, on PS2 and Vita.

And Persona 3 and Persona 2: Innocent Sin and Persona 2: Eternal Punishment, because they're all SUMMER releases. And Persona 5 might be one of 'em. Why didn't we think of that?

Maybe. I'm sure that there are some of you who might predict that.

It is a potentially very long delay since summer could totally mean this time next summer which would be a year. They must of run into some bad stuff.

Not surprised that my pessimism about the release date paid off, they've been too flaky about it.

On the plus side, I can do a playthrough of p4 without having to worry about burn out. I had the itch very recently.

More time for DQ:H and ToZ this year. Pretty bogus they lied over and over again though.

Can't wait for the delayed for NX speculation/wishful thinking to take place in the Mediacreate thread.

I didn't know Fallout 4 was announced in September.

Eh, 5 months. Still, a remarkably short period of time from announcement to release.I wasn't trying to do a 1 to 1 comparison, merely highlight that things like that can, (and do) happen.

Either way, I still haven't beaten Witcher 3, I'm OK with this being delayed. More time for the backlog!

Yea, seemed obvious that at least the NA version was going to get pushed to 2016. Disappointed the JP version is 2016 as well, though the fact it is middle of September and we still didn't have a date made a 2015 release seem unlikely.
Not sure why everybody believed the 2015 date just because an Atlus USA guy was saying so. People generally will keep providing the old release date until a delay is officially announced.
Though I am surprised it is delayed all the way to Summer.

And Persona 3 and Persona 2: Innocent Sin and Persona 2: Eternal Punishment, because they're all SUMMER releases. And Persona 5 might be one of 'em. Why didn't we think of that?

Maybe. I'm sure that are some of you who might predict that.

I mean, it is still technically summer so maybe they just put a 6 instead of a 5?
