If the dungeon design is any indication I would assume the encounter rate will be down because the enemy locations will be more fixed.

EP isn't, P1P is
IT'S ATLUS
IT'S NOT GOING TO HAPPEN, BETTER ACCEPT IT NOW
ALSO WHY ARE WE SHOUTING
Atlus USA does some damn good dubs, anyway. There's usually one or two voices that aren't great, but by and large they're excellent.

P1 is available, but P2EP is only available on the US and JPN PSN store. Is Persona 2 EP PS classic and Persona 1 Portable available in europe PSN store?
Those 1.5 million views are probably only 15000 people having obsessively watched it an average of 100 times.
I mean, we all have, right?

If they do it the way they did P4 I hope they keep the VA off from their other games.
The european version of Catherine had dual audio i think. So take that america! We at least know something better than you!
Dual audio indeed! This was a feature missing in the North American release, and we saw that the fan reaction to this was of strong disappointed. We are proud to allow European fans to play Catherine in either English or French.
Do you mean you don't want to see a lot of overlap in the cast? The talent pool is so small there's boind to be some familiar voices, but I'm sure the main party will all be new people.
Dual audio indeed!
No it's the cast using Japanese honorifics while speaking in English since it personally annoys me a ton.

Sort of a trivial complaint...
never mind, mistook download numbers.

Troy Baker will come in and voice every character in the game. And you good sir, will like it.
You're right, and that's not something that's been discussed too much as of yet. Persona 5 selling more in the west compared to Japan... I wonder if that's really possible. That'd be pretty amazing; I'd have to think that would really affect how Atlus Japan perceives the western audience for their games.
I'd give Persona another chance if there is some patch to make the encounter rate not stupid high.
Well I would have dropped it if I didn't have the option to turn off voices. lol It REALLY annoys me, so if they keep the option I'll have no problems playing through it.
You know, I actually ignored that. It sold ~300k in Japan, and we know it's at around 800-900k total WW so, you're right, P4G did sell better outside of Japan.
Edit: Or it didn't? It'd be nice if we had concrete western numbers to compare. There's also the P4G re-release that came out two days ago to consider.
You mean Persona 2 right?
Persona 3 and Persona 4 have no random encounters. Running right past enemies to evade battles is a joy of mine when I'm low on health.
If it bothers you that much, maybe there are better places to aim your efforts to for adjusting things? Just saying. Really trivial issue to be getting annoyed with.
I can imagine many Europeans raising their fists in anger as they read that bolded part.
Edit: Numbers that are more up to date.
Persona 5 won't sell 1 million in Japan unless something real crazy happens. Logical assumptions are 500-700k. 1 million WW is a given.

I would be fine with that lol
Something tells me he is a bit more expensive to get now though.
Nine-chan, whats the matter?
This part of the trailer makes me want to play the game NOW
Unfortunately the Persona series and SMT has always been around 200k initially in Japan but then slowly walked their way up a bit further. Seems as it has a set fan base of that size that don't mind owning every platform it ends up on. Btw didn't P4G achieve that PlayStation award thingy for breaking 1 mil? or was it something lower?
Nine's complaint is fair. In a game so predicated on story and voiced dialogue, if there's a linguistic quirk that annoys you to start it's going to get old after a while.

I was being a bit presumptuous. Downloads played a big deal in Japan and outside. Not to mention these numbers look extremely outdated.
In any case, it's close.
Even Squenix who were the last holdouts are putting dual-audio in games now. They're shooting for dual audio in FFXV and that has to be like the most unbelievable thing ever but it's true.
Atlus on the other hand are uhm Atlus. It's ironic that in the past decade they have gone from the best company localizing JRPGs to one of the worst because they insist on not including the JP voice tracks.

Yep, it's presumptuous. The domestic and international sales are still very close.Don't try to determine digital sales simply by subtracting the known totals from Famitsu/Media Create from Atlus's figures.
You would not be accounting for total shipment sizes, which none of us have access to.

Yeah it's way too frequent for my liking but if it was just occasionally I could pass it off no problem.
I mean I think asking to keep this isn't too much to ask? I'm mostly concerned it might not be in because of the new engine.

I don't know if it was associated with the award, but it did coincide with an announcement that they had shipped 700k units of P4G (including DL sales) worldwide, on December 4, 2013.
I definitely think Persona 5 will have a much stronger opening than 200k. Things have changed a lot since the 7 years when a mainline Persona RPG last came out. Countless spin-offs, remakes, concerts and media expanding endeavors have made the Persona series grow tremendously and more recognized, and—even though it's a rather poor metric—I think something as simple as the number of Youtube video views the Persona 5 trailers have is a proper indication.
The audience for Persona has definitely expanded.
Hell even Nintendo now does dual audio in most of their (voiced) games. That's even more surprising than Square Enix.
This is Atlus we're talking about. Be thankful their dubs are solid.DUAL AUDIO IN PERSONA 5
