They just look like that in certain frame of the animation. If you looks closely to their in game portrait/sprites, they look different and give different vibe as well.

It looks great, but honestly i was expecting more, graphics-wise(but i guess it's unavoidable since it's also on PS3), the main character is good but for the other three i see too many similarities with Kanji, Rise and Teddie, as i said in the other thread the new persona looks like a lazy red Izanagi + hat(sorry for the quick and dirty job but you get the point)

I'm not denying that they share similarities, but at the same time, they also looks different which makes them feel familiar and new at the same time.

What else could they do? The culture in Japan is too different for an adult cast, from what I understand over there high school is when the "fun times and shenanigans" ends for them. Over in the west, it extends into college and these days beyond that.

high school delinquents is their theme for this game. so if there are a normal party member, it's probably just one and act as the straight guy in the team.

-it's humanoid like Izanagi, not all personae are humanoid.
-It's masked like Izanagi, again not all personae are masked
-it has a high open collar(is it the right term? Sorry English is not my mother language) like izanagi, most of the personae have no collar
-it has a scarf or wathever exactly like izanagi, unlike most of the personae

It's impossible to negate the many similarities imo.

Yea which is why I am kind disappointed by this reveal.
Besides P4 and 3 have plenty of unique characters not similar to the 4 members you start off with so I'm hoping for something like that here.

People liked some of the tonal differences between P3/4 and P1/2. I think the gap is smaller than many make it out to be, but the tone difference is definitely there. There are very, very few games that are even close to the tone of the Persona series.

They never did. I don't expect them. The Persona Team works exclusively on console games. And if SCE helped fund or develop this game (PS4 version), it will stay Playstation only (ever since the inception of this franchise).

If we want to draw similarities, I think it looks much more like Tatsuya's Apollo than Izanagi

I'll just echo what's already being said by the rest of Gaf in this thread. The trailer exceeded all of my expectations. It's incredibly stylish and colorful and looks like a huge leap graphically over previous games.

The wait is going to be tough but it looks like it will be well worth it. I sincerely hope that we get this game in the West in 2015.

Well, in Japan you have to study, and take university entrance exams and all that in order to get in. Last year of high school is lots of studying. Less emphasis on clubs and all that. If a character was a third year I think it might be weird for him to join a club.
I work with one girl in the 3rd year, and she says she doesn't even have school any more because it is done for 3rd years (though obviously I expect there are still graduation ceremonies and stuff) and she just has been preparing for university.
Unless it has been confirmed otherwise, I'd imagine these characters are maybe 2nd year? Or maybe I'm just confused and high school life in Japan isn't like that/It is less emphasized in the game.
