The thing is, they kind of address the whole thrown together nature of the P5 castMakoto used it to deduce MC/Ann/Ryuji/Yusuke were Phantom Thieves. Followed by Akechi and Sae doing the same thing with the larger group.
So in my mind, they're not supposed to feel like they have a certain closeness the way the P4 cast does. Which is intentional, sure, but is also why I prefer the group dynamics of the P4 cast more.
Mishima haters, utter bastards of lust. We know how shitty you are, and that you put your twisted desires for worst characters, on this student that can't fight back. That's why we have decided to steal away those desires and make you confess your sins. This will be done tomorrow, so we hope you will be ready. From
The Phantom Thieves of Heart.
People who say the P3 cast isn't close...that's the entire point of the story. Their present lives and their pasts are completely fucked up, it's only natural that they're slow to open up to others. Throughout the whole game they start to let down barriers and get close to the other party members. By the end of The Answer you can tell that they've started to heal from their trauma and can finally look to a brighter future.
I think it is good that the cast dynamic is a bit different between each game.

http://imgur.com/a/vskJkI kept calling him Pitbull. He really took off after his stint with Team Flare.
I keep telling myself that I'm going to play Persona 3 FES but I never do. Not being able to control your party just feels wrong.
Then again...if Atlus put it out on PS4 with trophies and uprendering...that might do it.
Mishima asked me to go to the Planetarium with him, I said no and read a book instead.
social links ain't worth it

I think it is good that the cast dynamic is a bit different between each game. 4 really felt like a group of friends above all else, and that's part of what made that game really special.
In 3 the amount of history people shared was interesting and even though they start cold to each other by the end they are incredibly close with the last section of the game being pretty emotional as a result.
As for 5 the cast is essentially a group of outcasts that finds companionship in each other, which can be interesting. I think it would be beneficial to have at least a few scenes though that show people hanging out not revolving around the player. Like I shouldn't only ever run into one person at a time when I'm at the park with a confidant.
The problem with P5 is that once your team builds you are no longer really outcasts. So why would they spend time with idiots like Ryuji? I'd be like "ok see you next month when we have another target, don't fucking message me and try not to yell out that we are the phantom thieves in public for the tenth fucking time."
Would make for a much more interesting game if by choice you could just cut away the morons.
This is a really stupid complaint though. I mean, I think Ryuji is a moron too, he's a perv, and he is a loudmouth. But it's unreasonable to ignore the fact that when your character transferred in, you were a "delinquent with a record" no one wanted to talk to, and Ryuji was the first guy who opened up to you. You discovered the Metaverse together and beat Kamoshida together with Ann. Ryuji and Ann are also old friends. It honestly dosen't make any sense to tell the co-founders of the Phantom Thieves to "fuck off" in this context.
As far as actually spending time with Ryuji goes though, I haven't done it much. I'm at the end of Aug now, and his link is still at Rank 2 or something. I ignore most of his texts, but I don't think it's unusual that he comes over to hang out or whatever.
How does it not make sense to get rid of a moron? The whole game is literally constant variations of "do this or some massively bad shit happens". In that context you would tell him thanks, but no thanks. You don't just keep him around because he was there first, you certainly don't keep him around when he is a perv as well.
But then this is a group that has their "hideout" in an open walkway in a crowded area so maybe they do fit together... either way the choice would be nice.

Except they're not going to rid of an asset, even if he messes up from time to time and more importantly, they're not going to dump him because he's a friend/comrade. Also the choice to "permanently tell a character that they wrote into the game to fuck off" makes 0 sense to me. This isn't Bioware, son.
Clocked 50 hours after finishing thePalace. At this pace, how many hours do I have till the end?4th
You're halfway, more or less.
More more, or more less?
I'm 52 hours after finishing the story stuff at the deadline after the 4th Palace.

Is there any point hanging out with Sojiro? The social link never goes up. It's just stuck in 3 and I feel like I'm wasting my time just burning my evenings on it when I can rank up others 5 times faster.

Ryuji has his highs and lows, september being the absolute worst for him, but he improves a lot after that, he is still dumber than a rock but he shows more feelings and respect for you than others in the group. People loves makoto and Yusuke but the more you play the game the more you realize they dont give a f about you. They are all about the phantom thieves and you just happen to be their leader. Ann, Ryuji and Morgana are the only real bros in that group. And of that Only Morgana and Ryuji can be called real friends. The others are just team mates.
I got stuck there and gave up too. It took 3 fucking sessions before he would level from 2 and 3, and as much as I want to learn the art of curry, it's a huge waste of time. I hear that if you get the Fortune confidant up to lvl7 or something, you can use a reading to force closeness for a Confidant, so that might be a better late game strategy to deal with annoying ones like Sojiro.
He's soft locked until after the events of August, but the game doesn't tell you. You're also better off making coffee than hanging out with him directly, since that way you'll get some coffee
I right after palace 6 and clocked in 80 hours.More more, or more less?

I disagree. I'll put it in spoilers just in case, but nothing major here. Do mention all the characters though.
