Time for NG+And done. Last save was 111:34, max stats and nax confidants. Probably my GOTY over Zelda now, and probably my favorite jrpg ever.

Makoto ended up being on heal duty in the later half for me. She was party healing each turn and has the party wide defense+ which was nice.
She's pretty solid once you get her. Maxing out proficiency is a requirement if you want to use her at her best, since it's the only way to progress her Confidant past rank 1 (and pick up other combat abilities like Baton Pass, etc). Once you reach endgame, and she picks up skills like One-Shot Kill and Cripple, her offense becomes incredibly good.
To be fair, isn't like the game have a lot of references or callbacks to P2 or something like that
So yeah I'm pretty loving this game ;_;
Haru hits very hard as well, she might not have concentrate or charge BUT she does have the all stat buff which can boost attack + 75% damage boost on both gun and magic. Meaning in terms of overall damage she can come close to Ryuji and Ann and unlike those two she is not limited to just magic or just physicals but rather she gets both.Yesh basically Makoto/Morgana are better as healers since they lack punch and Ann and Ryuji are the best DPS characters because concentrate/charge. Other characters lose utility at end game since they dont heal or hit hard enough.
Funny thing i saw everyone complaining about this dungeon but i never really got a problem...guess i died for a miniboss but i disn't really need to fight it, i just failed the puzzleMy favorite thing is that the entire cast seems pretty useful, at least at this point. Also having them get more EXP outside of battle through the moon confidant is great. I've been using everyone in decent rotation so far.
Also, I enjoyed the lead up to dungeon 5, even if some of the drama is kinda forced. The game seems kind of aware how lame it is, though, and I laughed at some of that dialogue.
That said, I tried real hard to brace myself for Palace 5 after all the complaints but... yeah it's a slog. Not a fun mechanic and the layout doesn't help. Also doesn't help that I've wiped 3 times... shocking considering I've only wiped once before this. I also came into one of the miniboss fights without the one skill needed to down the boss (curse, in this case), so I had to end for the night.
My recommendation for those going into Palace 5: Make sure you've got every weakness covered (including Bless & Curse).
I'm gonna break this dungeon up, quite frankly. I don't think I can gun it straight through.
The thing about the (11/20)traitor is that the twist isn't who the traitor is - the game expects you figured that part out by now - it's that the protags were prepared for him to betray them from the start.
You also unlock books when you play minigames once like batting and fishing, video games Some other books get unlocked when you are done reading certain books etc etc. The library stops issuing books sometime in November btw.11/26:Just about done all of my confidants. I have everyone done except for the story confidants, and Haru is at 8. I'm 81 hours in now, I plan on going for the True Ending so can anyone estimate how much time it looks like I have left?
Also I'm trying to do the read all book / drink all drinks trophies but I seem to be missing something for each. Anywhere to get books besides the Library, Central Street bookstore, the Bookstore by where Fortune is, the Bookstore by where Tower is, and the Bookstore where?you get speed reading

As for vending machine, there are several vending machines in school. Two in courtyard, two near school gate. Those were the ones my issuing for me.

I must be missing the batting and fishing books, thanks!
Ok, the next day makes it pretty clear he has no idea at all. Even Ann is trying to be sly about it.
Weird how they made it like this. There are text messages before this point that are unavoidable (from what I can tell) that makes it clear that he knows. I can't remember this big of a disconnect between the story scenes and S Link stuff in the past persona games. Not as weird as this one.

I think Yusuke and Morgana are the ones who lose most utility late in the game compared to others. Makoto is better at healing imo simply because of the fully party defense buff and she can do ok damage (though that bit holds true for Morgana too). On the other hand Yusuke gets completely outclasses by Ryuji in every manner cause charge, God's hand and all party attack buff are sweet stuff.
Although it doesn't change the fact that Yusuke was the superior damage dealer for the majority of the game and Morgana the better healer for half of the game atleast.
I dunno, I still think Yusuke has utility in the endgame, especially when used alongside Ryuji for maximum damage. In fact, Yusuke/Ryuji/Makoto is a cheesy team set up because you can stack all 3 major buffs in a single turn (and Masukukaja is good now). Though honestly, even without God Hand (which is like, a level 73 skill?) Ryuji ends being better because he has Swift Strike and that skill is fucking OP.
EDIT: High counter can come in handy, yeah.
7th palace spoilers
The triple buff combo wrecks Akechi, and Yusuke's Masukukaja is incredibly useful since Shido debuffs hit/evasion.
Time for NG+
I legit took it to mean he knowsJoker is but not anyone else.
Yeah I'm of the opinion that Ryuji actually pairs best with Yusuke. He also really appreciates the AGI buffs more than anything else.
I wanna go full physical and do Ryuji/Yusuke/Haru for NG+.
Well if you really do want maximum damage then you don't use Yusuke, you use Ann with Ryuji for that. The reason for that being Ann gets concentrate + 50% fire buff + AoE severe damage. If you think Yusuke/Ryuji/Makoto is cheesy then Ann/Ryuji/Makoto is even worse.I dunno, I still think Yusuke has utility in the endgame, especially when used alongside Ryuji for maximum damage. That's where Joker comes in! Helps that Haru is pretty competent at dealing magic damage too. There are a few battles/enemies you'd have to focus more magic, but it's doable.

Well you can only have 4 people in your party. The limitation he was talking about was for your Ryuji/Yusuke/Makoto party. If you are going to wait until you get a turn to switch Yusuke/Ryuji to Haru mid battle then what's even the point of keeping them in your party, just keep Haru there as is.That's where Joker comes in! To me Sukukaja becomes unnecessary unless the enemy debuffs your accuracy, because there is little point in increasing both evasion and defense...especially when you can heal from low health to max health for all with just one character in one turn. Yes there may be the off chance that someone goes from full health to zero without you getting a chance to heal (highly unlikely at that point in the game) and in that situation Sukukaja may be helpful in avoiding but again, it's not a 100% guarantee.
So yea between defense up, mass heal and rank 10 evasion ability I don't see Sukukaja's evasion up having much utility. Accuracy up? Yes sure, if the enemy has debuffs you but otherwise again you'd rather just use that turn to attack or concentrate (if you have Ann instead of Yusuke, and Ann does more damage + it's AoE and magic meaning you are flexible).
I started insta-killing enemies when I ambushed them in Mementos yesterday. Any way to avoid that and get the ambush? It doesn't appear to give you any exp or money when that happens.
Yea I already said Yusuke is like more viable for 80% of the game. It's only around that point that he gets a bit overshadowed, Morgana starts to get overshadowed a little earlier..like mid game. The thing about Ann/Ryuji/Makoto is that it isn't a cheesy combo until Ann/Ryuji both get Charge/Concentrate, which is post 7th dungeon. And yeah, Yusuke might not see much use on standard teams around that point, but that applies to literally every character game who aren't Ann/Ryuji/Makoto, haha. Prior to that point, he's an extremely viable character.
Sukukaja is good because you don't have to waste a turn healing if an enemy misses an attack, giving you more free actions (and unlike in P3/P4, it has a way greater effect on evasion). It's not redundant with +Def because Rakukaja is a safety net in case you do get hit. Also the +accuracy is awesome for physical attacks.
I wish you could see the gang actually walking around at school. Perhaps not together but doing something. The other half of the school is completely useless as you cannot do anything over there or see anything interesting. Missed opportunity. Maybe they're saving it for Crimson.
I like how the rooftop is supposed to be off limits butis there like all the time apparently.Haru
Btw your healer is already spending 50% of their time attacking at that point, since you don't heal as often, you can just tank so much damage with your HP, defense buff and enemy attack debuff. Which is why I find that the off chance that Makoto gets one or two more turns to do damage instead of healing gets far outweighed by the sheer damage boost Ann/Haru bring over Yusuke.
SPif use auto-recover, what would i lose?
i tried it once and nothing seems to consumed, can someone confirm?

Kind of wish i went with hard instead of normal. This is my first persona but ive been playing jrpgs for 20 years. In the 4th dungeon and its pretty easy. Didnt take me long to get used to the systems here

Fair enough.
That said, does pre-Concentrate Ann even outdamage Yusuke though? He gets a Severe-tier physical skill pretty early, so he's outdamaging those 2 until the very end.

Only need Hope Diamond and Crystal Skull for that compendium.
