didn't realize it was him when he was drunk. I was legit surprised when I heard him talk later on.
I've always slotted the new characters for the entire dungeon they are introduced. don't have the line trophy *shrugs*
I should likely slot in the cat for a bit, but he actually still has the starting sling and a weapon from like the second dungeon so that might have to wait lol.

4 was very well done. Best one yet and I greatly enjoyed it start to finish. Futaba storyline was perhaps the best beyond the first palace issues.

5 was not a fun run. The puzzles were generally terribad. It went on for far too long. Save areas were not close enough and you had enemies who could easily one shot you if you had a wrong persona equipped and didn't manage to get an ambush. Stealth paths also seemed wonky in places so getting those ambushes was harder then expected. Meh.

The last part where you're launching out into space was so cool, but I appreciated way less than I should have because goddamn that palace was too long

Biggest issue for me is still SP conservation. Seems like every fight means about 6-9 sp expended or more, save for the ones weak to gunfire or physical. But I can't ignore the fights, because then i'm underleveled. I could go more physical, but that generally results in party members getting one or two shot often, and I seemly just spend the sp on health instead of attacks.

I actually like training up a bit before dungeons. Usually there is a confidant to train up both day and night (at least post Palace 2 or so) and on rainy days you can train up knowledge.
My strategy is not to fuse after leaving the palace so usually I have a few levels worth of persona fusions. By raising confidant ranks before going into the next palace I have a few more levels and skills I can get out of Persona fusions.
I noticed this as well. Probably is a mistake.
He says a REALLY wonky line near the end of the game. It was the first one that I just... Sat and read. Over and over. I couldn't comprehend what it was supposed to be.

Just finished the game after about 140 hours on hard, with all non-NG+ trophies. This was my first Persona game, and what a fantastic ride it was. My GotY so far, and one of my favorite games of all time.
I went ahead and ordered a PS TV and P4G, which should be arriving tomorrow. I wish I had gotten into this series earlier, but I'm glad I gave P5 a shot.

Dont forget about P3 Portable. It's also a great game and has some good QoL improvements over FES. You can watch anime cutscenes off YouTube. GiantBomb had a list of dates/cutscenes with links.
There are also older Persona games but they are quite different from P3 - P5.

It's remarkable what a difference it makes to not have Morgana barking commands at you. Functionally it's identical, but the 1st person thought bubbles feel so much less oppressive. God I wish it was like this the whole game.

This is not necessarily always a good advice, since unlike Persona 4 they don't block you from raising your S.Links / Confidants before you attempt and finish a Palace. Often it's better to raise your Confidants first so that as you go through dungeons you have the benefit of extra XP fusion, which can be a lot.
Note that the game *do* block your party members' confidants in between sending the calling card and taking the target's heart tho.

Spoilers up to 12/17 and 7th Palace
So, right now
Palace 7 was pretty fun. I didn't mind the mouse mazes. But man... the whole situation with Goro ;_; In a way, it was nice to see the PT trying to make Goro realize why Shido isn't worth all the trouble and how he could find a place to belong to but I just can't see them 'forgiving' Goro that easily when they hated all the adults who have done things as horrible as Goro. But then again, Goro was in the worst state of the mind possible and he is a troubled teenager just like them so maybe that was the best course of action at the moment. RIP. I was really hoping he would join the party after that and atone for what the did but I guess not. :/
Anyways, Shido's calling card cutscene was so cool to watch, specially when MC walks in. I enjoyed his Boss Battle as well, so many crazy forms lol. And Ryuji the MVP!

Oh man, I can't believe I was stuck on the palace 7 end-boss -- literally the only issue was not comprehending how magic walls worked, as soon as I understood they go down after one hit, the rest of the fight was smooth as butter, although I had to laugh at
him literally turning into Senator Armstrong for a bit there.

Can I send the calling card right away or will it result in me losing out on time to build my social relationships?
I just got out so I haven't had a chance to have a meeting and see what they say. I am assuming that there is more after this as we have to resolve mona and can't get all the way down in momentos as it stands.

It doesn't mean you won't rank up. It says UP if you will, and can be blue without UP. It can be gray with UP also.
It doesn't mean this person is unavailable somehow. At first I thought it did, because I lacked Guts for doctor, and Takemi was gray, but since then I've seen many times gray names that I could totally advance.

Mmm... Sometimes a character isn't available for a couple of days after you level them. Like when Takemi says she is analysing data.

Counter is much more useful since Adverse Resolve is only activated when your party is being surrounded, making it practically useless in 99% of the scenarios where you ambush enemies or when you fight bosses.
The Dodge Psy can be gotten by fusing Kin-Ki (Chariot) with Sui-Ki (Moon). Kin-Ki learns Dodge Psy at Level 27, and then use that to fuse Ame no Uzume.
It simply means that you are required to do something first before it can be raised up: like doing a mementos sidequest, or just wait for a bit (in the case of Ryuji's Confidant)

after they were both at a super small amount of HP, missed the last attack which should have killed Justine after Caroline went down, then when I got Caroline low again Justine got killed by her ice attack being reflected. Actually was rotating people out but the SP drain was too much and I haven't spent like any time getting items.
Gonna need to prepare a little bit more, fight itself is really cool though.

That seems to be false. Right now it says Ryuji UP!!! and is gray. There, I just raised conf rank 1 point.

As far as I know in Ryuji's confidant after you reach a certain level you need to wait for him to contact you again twice before ranking up, one when he said he's trying to find a new place to train and the other when he said he's trying to find where Yamauchi drinks so he can snoop on him.
During those moments, Ryuji's confidant are greyed out even if you have enough points to level it up to the next rank.
The same happened with Kawakami, Futaba, Hifumi, etc etc where you need to finish their respective mementos quests first before being allowed to proceed, theirs will be a greyed out UP! icon before you finish those quests, or when you need to raise your social stat to the required level for those that block you with that.
Jun Fukuyama and Mamoru Miyano deliver this line so well.
When it's grayed out, you can go talk to the character and they'll usually talk about the requirement, but even after you've met said requirement, it'll remain gray until you talk to them again.
Sometimes it's stats, sometimes Mementos quests.

It looks like I hit a bug then. I just raised conf rank (via conf story dialog and all) despite the icon being gray. Guess it shouldn't have been gray.

how do confidant links transfer? I got a bunch of items from the ones I maxed and a special item from ann since I spent time w/ her on christmas and valentines day, but does that mean theyll be lvl 10 when I first unlock them in ng+? Also do I start all the ones I didnt finish at zero again?
