Pretty sure a lot of those are free anyway.

Japanese games always have shit tier DLC and lots of it, meanwhile smart indie games like Terraria or Stardew release beefy content updates for free and sell more copies than many Japanese game franchises did for decades.

Its funny how when GTA V a 7th gen game released on 8th and 9th gen, everyone hated it, but when Persona 5 the same 7th gen game released on 8th (twice include royal edition) and now 9th, everyone is cheering.
Gta v has been milked to death. Persona is a nicher series which is only been available on ps3/4(for royal only ps4).

Im glad its coming to pc

So are you saying if they did the same practice of not releasing on PC like Atlus (which I disliked their timed exclusivity practice), then they releasing on 9th gen will became more tolerable? Atlus could of releasing it on PC long time ago, but they just decided to use a more witty milking strategy.

BTW I'm also glad any game releasing on PC

surely the steam version will include it too?

if not i'll be happy to pay full price again for the ultimate edition :messenger_smiling_with_eyes:

As you can see, it’s a bunch of junk.
not if you're a fan of atlus games.

it's mostly just costumes/background music + demons but i think it's cool to have. none of it's essential and i get why people wouldn't want to buy it but it's now included so use it or don't.

Any news on whether this is getting a retail release on Xbox?

I've seen people post listings here and there, but not seen anything official.

Nah, I’m a fan of Atlus and Persona. I remember when P5 launched with $70 of junk DLC, which all went free when Royal launched.

Just more fluff, I like my fluff physical in the CEs I bought.

What about the PS5 version? Does this news have a 48 hour announcement exclusivity too?
Most or all of that DLC is already included in the Deluxe or Ultimate Version and that's always on sale for like $20 or $35 for the Ultimate.

So you can get that if you are interested in the DLC 😃

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
This DLC is not junk if you don't want to hear the same battle theme for 120 hours. My favorite is the If... set.

Exactly, and it has a lot of costumes from the previous games and such if you don't want to keep looking at the same ones for so many hours.

This is easily a 100 hr plus game after all. And the dlc is free.

I really don’t like P5’s Persona DLC, it already makes the easy game way too easy especially in Royal that give you way too much tool to have more advantage over your enemies and Persona DLC really messes with your Fusion table.

I like the way SMTV did DLC, you get powerful Demons but first you need to beat them in boss fight in Oder to get them and they part of special fusion so they never interfer with your Fusion table.

I have the PS4 version. Does this mean that I get the PS5 version free?
They haven't said if it's a free upgrade, if they have I can't find it online, sorry.

The DLC Personas are laughably broken (at the start of the game at least) so don't use them if you want any kind of challenge.

But they're great fun if you've already played the game once :messenger_beaming:

Because it's not the same situation. Persona 5 was a cross gen game from the start and persona 5: Royal isn't the same game. It is a very expanded edition that adds an enormous amount of content to the game. Persona 5 Royal will now also be available on platforms where it wasn't available before, which is different from GTA V.

Meanwhile GTA 5 is exactly the same game released with no additional content added with each version. Nobody would complain about another rerelease of GTA V if it added as much content as P5 royal did.

if you're a fan then why do you think it's junk that you can listen to music, wear costumes of characters from other atlus games, or get more Personas?

whether or not you think it's worth paying for is irrelevant.

I don't see many parties for this, but even without making that point, the situation is completely different. The game is now being released on two platforms that previously did not have access to the game, GTA V was a re-release on the same platforms that the game was originally on.

Actually surprising, but good news. It's just costumes and stuff, but usually you'd expect to see a mile long list of DLC for 1.99 a pop for this kind of thing.

Enjoy Xbox fans. Word of warning, don't use any of the persona's that were from dlc, some of them will make the game a cake walk and take fun out of it for you. On the other hand if you are playing mostly for story, knock yourself out

im curious how they are on the hardest difficulty. i played on easy/normal but after playing SMTV im gonna do a merciless playthrough when the steam version is out :messenger_tears_of_joy:

there was a boss in royal i tried using the dlc persona and still couldnt win. turns out you need to play a certain way (use items to stack attacks or some shit). the spaceport boss was easy in the original but they changed it in royal :messenger_expressionless:

That's a good question. I always play games on normal so I'm not sure either. I remember there's a boss in royal I had trouble with and when I looked up help the guides said turn the difficulty up and it makes the boss easier. Sounds nuts, but I tried it and it worked lol

Safety difficulty + DLC persona to focus solely on maxing out confidants, I suppose :messenger_beaming:

DLC Personas are fun and seeing a cat in a maid outfit is cute. Try them all.
Still elated, yet can't believe, that the Persona franchise is no longer locked exclusively to PlayStation. It's a great time to be a gamer.
P4Golden has been on Steam for two years, and Switch has a few.

It’s all stuff that should be included in the game as unlockable, likely pulled out so it could be charged for, it’s fluff and adds next to nothing.

Whether or not you agree with me is irrelevant.

P4Golden has been on Steam for two years, and Switch has a few.
But Persona 5, the latest game in the series, still wasn't on PC (or Xbox), and there was a sense that Persona 4 Golden and 5 Strikers on Steam/Switch was just Atlus' way of throwing a bone to those other platforms.

And even though I find Nintendo fanboys to be very annoying, I do hope they announce it's coming to Switch. Because the more platforms Persona comes to, the better.
And it sends a message to Atlus, Sega and all Japanese publishers that making your Japanese games exclusive to PlayStation is not the way anymore...
