Persona 5 TGS trailer

Hope it doesn't go far into the 中二病 territory. I'll remain cautiously optimistic, I just really really hope that the purported darker tone of the game or any social problems they might tackle do not end up being explained in a typical junior high level "deep, bro" fashion.

This may be somewhat obvious, but I think a lot of the 'character building' (knowledge, str, diligence) stats are tied into the new baseball, martial arts, and the above button-mash mini-games, which means you can get less/more out an individual session, rather than the previously fixed gains.

I liked that the dungeons seemed much more creative. The addition of even a little platforming will go a long way.

The paintings scenes were cool.:)

Since the previous game has a huge fan base on PS Vita, maybe there is a chance to a post release on vita?

There is no way the vita could handle this visually. Porting a game from PS3 to Vita is way more complicated than PS2 to Vita because compromises would have to be made.

Except the Vita has run many different PS3 games and ports, but yeah there wouldn't be a post release of this on Vita later because of other reasons not being hardware.

This was the part that isn't in the trailers, btw:

Looks even better in motion.

The character profile doesn't tell us anything new. The protagonist and assumed leader of the thief gang is a 16-year old boy, docile-looking at first sight, who has recently switched schools to Shûjin gakuen. He's living at a cafe that is the home of a friend of his parents. We don't know yet why he moved to the capital. And that's all.

You know what, after that trailer, take as long as you need Atlus. This is undoubtedly the perfect opportunity for Persona to hit the big time, I feel that if they polish it to perfection the timing could be perfect mid-next year.

Well, the other profiles should be new and they will bring us the official artwork!

Hehe. I hope its the Bartender of the Stray Sheep. That would be insane.

I didn't say it wasn't possible, just that it's a lot more difficult and that this game clearly wasn't made with a Vita port in mind like, say, Sly 4 or Playstation All-Stars. It's a bit more ambitious in a way that would make it a lot harder to downscale.

Anyone have a translation?

Quick and dirty:

Recognized as a leader of a band of thieves.
A 16-year-old that has transferred into Shuujin Academy (play on prisoner). First impressions of him are that he's quiet.
He currently lives with a friend of his parents at a cafe in Yonkenjaya.
The reasons why he has come to Tokyo have not currently know.

I think Yonkenjaya is a place name but I could be wrong.

There's a Yongenjaya in Kobe and also I think in Hiroshima. In Tokyo, I only know of Sangenjaya: https://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/三軒茶屋

Don't think I don't notice you, minimap of rectangular rooms! No amount of cute mice can hide the random dungeon generator.

If the random generation creates dungeons like the ones in the trailers, then I could care less if they're random or not.

We also already know that the game WILL have both random and hand crafted dungeons.

Calling it, the friend will be a social link.

Shocking, I know.

Wait, the P5 Protagonist talks? Yu & Makoto didn't say shit outside of Persona names in their source games (Yu & Makoto obviously spoke in the anime adaptations & the spin-off games).
