Persona Q reveals an earth-shattering truth about the P4 protagonist in a sidequest
(sidequest spoilers)
His uniform still has a price tag on it. He forgot to take it off.
It quite literally makes you re-evaluate all of Persona 4.
I don't like the anime cutscenes in any Persona game (outside of the ending scenes, I guess?), but Catherine's were great.
P4G's new anime scenes were the absolute fucking worst.
What do you mean? This is the best cutscene in the medium.
What's the current opinion on PQ for someone who loved Persona's atmosphere and storytelling?
I always find in interesting, when the fan base has a tendency to project the opposite, (at least in terms of personality ) to how the protagonists are portrayed within the games. Minato is maladjusted. Awkward. Something away from the norm, at the very least. Yu is simply aloof.
...And then fan works go a long way towards convincing you otherwise!
What aspect of that specifically, are you drawn to? If it's almost down to the characters, then you're golden (pun, perhaps intended). Just don't expect any great world-building aspects, beyond minor embellishments to what has already been established.
I don't think the games necessarily project that at all; it's subjective. I've never heard someone describe Yu as being aloof until now. I've seen people give multiple interpretations to how the P3/P4 protagonists act and, that's a given, since they were designed to pretty much be blank slates.
Some interesting info from Dengeki Playstation 20th Anniversary interviews and early Famitsu stuff:
Atlus: Have a new title that has not been announced yet.
As blank as they can be, yet so much can be gleaned from just their animations and (potential) dialogue responses.
We've come so far, now here we are
We made it through the night
I know we will, be strong, cause still
Everything will be alright
Provided Persona 5 does come out in 2015, is it beyond the realm of possibility that they do the PS2-era thing and just start releasing games with the engine? Like, couldn't a 2017 game be a Persona 6 or a SMT 5?
I wonder what they would do a new IP though. So many possibilities.

That reminds me, did they just ditch the Catherine engine that was meant to be used for P5? I know that P5 isn't using it but was it ever used for anything else?
I've seen the P4 protagonist characterized in a variety of different ways; he's pretty much a wildcard when it comes to fan work.
On the other hand, most fan work I've seen has characterized the P3 protagonist as the mild, apatheticsometimes grouchy individual. Which is funny considering Soejima was aiming to make his design as neutral as possible. Perhaps his initial design left a strong impression on most people (including Atlus, seeing how he's characterized in the P3 movie and PQ)
I'm ready for another Radiant HIstoria game. It would be a miracle for 2 to come out though ;_;Atlus should just announce Radiant Historia 2 for the Vita.
I won't be surprised if Persona 6 comes out a year within P5's release. It would be like the P3/P4 situation again.Provided Persona 5 does come out in 2015, is it beyond the realm of possibility that they do the PS2-era thing and just start releasing games with the engine? I always saw him as quiet but kind, personally. Irks the heck out of me when people argue that he's objectively manipulative.

I think P3MC's characterization in P3M suits him the best. He is aloof, serious, but kind.
Blu-ray/DVD volume 4 of P4GA is now out, and along with it the new episode depicting the Accomplice ending. So, naturally, spoilers.
I thought his characterization was fantastic for the movie and what they were going for, but I think I prefer his characterization in Persona Q. His interactions in PQ are a tad more enjoyable since he's more involved with the group and he's less cold.
From what I've experienced, Persona Q seems to hover around that characterization as well. With some general apathy and maybe a little bit of spaciness.
That's good to hear. I started with P3 side first, but I really look forward to his characterization in P4 side.I thought his characterization was fantastic for the movie and what they were going for, but I think I prefer his characterization in Persona Q. I don't think people who call him a sociopath actually know what a sociopath is.Maybe they're influenced by P3's gloomy atmosphere?
That and no friendship routes for the girls. That's a big plus for the sociopath argument.
I really like Marie's characterization in Q.Especially that request... Theo made it even better.
Er?
I don't get it. It's almost like we've gone back in time to Q1 2013 where people were thinking P5 was going to be on the Wii U or 3DS. Except the game was announced more than a year ago. In 2015, we'll get another moment of "P5 is apparently exclusive to PS3/PS4" here.
That was so cute when people thought that because of the rumored list of games that appeared at E3.
Yeah, sure one that actually turned out to be true with PQ, but people thinking it was going to be P5? LOL
