PRO EVO 5 CONFIRMED FOR XBOX 360

11:40 Konami has confirmed Pro Evolution Soccer 5 for Xbox 360 this morning at Games Convention 2005, currently underway in Leipzig, Germany. Great news, although not exactly unexpected with Konami announcing Winning 11 (Japan's version of Pro Evo) for Microsoft's next-gen machine at the Xbox Summit in Japan last month.

No more details at this time, although with Konami giving an autumn 2006 release for Winning 11 on 360 it looks as though it'll be a fair few months before us Western folk see Pro Evolution Soccer 5 on the console.

Konami has also said that Pro Evolution Soccer 5 will appear on 'other new hardware' in 2006, or in other words on PS3 and potentially Nintendo's Revolution.

Ugh, this is stupid.

First off, it's not news. We already knew that PES was coming to the 360 and inevitably Fall 2006 at the latest. Secondly, the title sort of implies that it would come much sooner since WHY WOULDN'T IT BE PES6 IF THE SERIES ISNT COMING FOR OVER ANOTHER YEAR???

It's probably a mistake. I doubt PES5 will be on the 360.

A tarted up port of PES 5 doesn't make sense, nor would it be very appealing. Next gen Eleven I figured would start with PES 6 and WE 10 built from the ground up.

Im hope there's a mistranslation here...
