It's okay though, because he doesn't dance and walk out on media questions.
New York Daily News writer Shaun King has been called out for plagiarism after he copied a blog post verbatim and posted it on his massively popular Facebook page without giving attribution to its true author.
In a post on King’s Facebook page on Sunday, Carlos Miller, who operates the blog “Photography Is Not A Crime,” wrote: “Shaun King, please link to my article if you are going to cut and paste my article into your FB post. I’m sure as a writer, you understand.”
This is just the latest controversy to befall King, who gained national attention as a Black Lives Matter activist following the shooting death of Michael Brown last year. As The Daily Caller has reported, King has made inconsistent comments about charities he’s founded. One organization for which he began soliciting donations last year was never actually registered as a charity. After TheDC’s report, King announced that he was returning donations given to that organization and to another he started this summer.
King also claimed in interviews in 2013 that a social media company he co-founded called Upfront Media was going to contribute a portion of its revenue to an affiliated charity. But King’s business partner told TheDC in a phone interview that the charity was never actually created. (RELATED: Charities Touted By Shaun King Appear To Never Have Existed)
King also appears to have falsely claimed that as a high school student in Kentucky in 1995 he was the victim of an anti-black hate crime. A police report from the incident and the detective who investigated the matter undermined the notion that King was the victim of a hate crime.
Further, while King has made racist statements about white male gun owners, the columnist-activist was fired from his job at Morehouse College in 2006 after brandishing his own firearm while trying to drive through a crowd gathered for a campus block party.
he forcefully maneuvered his naked testicles and rectum directly on her face with his penis on top of her head.
Maybe so, but at least I can see this for what it is: a very old and dubious story which is being presented as fact because of a 74 page document that was created by the plaintiff's lawyers. All of this just in time for Manning's retirement.
And it's the New York Daily News.
But, hey, care to direct that razor sharp wit of yours at the OP, since he has no problem saying shit like this:
I didn't know shit about any of this.
lol @ people throwing on the cape for Peyton tho. "BUT ITS OLD NEWS!!!"
like most dumbass athletes, he's unsurprisingly trash.
Since we all like to pile in on a good smear:

and
And more here about his charities:

Eli isn't any better, based on stories from their summer camp in Albany.
Any links?Eli isn't any better, based on stories from their summer camp in Albany.
Let's be clear here: King is just paraphrasing the victim's claims. He has an agenda, sure, but simply calling him out doesn't do anything to the truth (or lack thereof) of the underlying claims.
If you think this is all a smear, attack the lawyers claims, not King. He didn't originate these accusations.
LOL, Chiggs proving my point perfectly. Shaun's baggage is too much for a story like this and he doesnt help himself overstating the facts of the case.
Conflicting versions
Manning claimed in his book that, while in the training room, in response to a track athlete who made a remark, Manning dropped his shorts to moon the athlete. "I did it thinking the trainer wasn't where she would see. ... Even when she did, it seemed like something she'd have laughed at, considering the environment, or shrugged off as harmless. Crude maybe, but harmless."
Naughright and her lawyer provided a different version of events. In a court filing, her lawyer wrote that she was examining Manning to see why Manning was having pain in one of his feet and was crouched behind him when "entirely unprovoked, Peyton Manning decided to pull down his shorts and sit on Dr. Naughright's head and face."
As Naughright described it in a deposition entered into the court record: "It was the gluteus maximus, the rectum, the testicles and the area in between the testicles. And all that was on my face when I pushed him up. ... To get leverage, I took my head out to push him up and off."
The court record includes a letter to Manning from former Tennessee cross country runner Malcolm Saxon, who Manning said was the intended target of the mooning. Written in December 2002, the letter reads, in part: "Bro, you have tons of class, but you have shown no mercy or grace to this lady who was on her knees seeing if you had a stress fracture. ...
"She was minding her own business when your book came out. Peyton, the way I see it, at this point, you are going to take a hit either way, if you settle out of court or if it goes to court. You might as well maintain some dignity and admit to what happened. ... Your celebrity doesn't mean you can treat folks that way. ... Do the right thing here."
Yet this will still get glossed over. Incredible whatathlete privilege can get you.white
Since the thread is entering "shoot the messenger" mode here's an article written in USAToday back in 2003 when I first remember hearing about this story.
There wasn't a single athlete present that backed up Peyton's version of events. It's totally OK to say that the timing of bring this up again now is questionable but the incident itself really isn't.
I grew up down the street from Newman and would see him a lot at clubs I worked at over the years. He also hung with some friends of mine on occasion. A douche of the highest order but more like a white hat frat boy douche. I personally never heard of him doing anything criminal. I did have to kick him out of a bar I worked at for harassing some girls a week after signing his rookie contract thoughEli isn't any better, based on stories from their summer camp in Albany.
More like it's old news and is based on a 74 page document prepared by the girl's lawyers. Ask yourself this: do you think a document like that represents the truth? Take some time if you need to.
I just read that entire article and it is very clear that Shaun King is going after Manning. I'm sorry, bud, but if you can't see that you're not looking.
In my opinion, most of this is stemming from Cam's Newton's atrocious performance in the Super Bowl, his post game interview (which I don't believe was even remotely bad) and the clear double standard between how journalists treat white QBs and black QBs.
The problem is that King, in an attempt to defend Newton, is trying to trash another player using material that is ancient and decidedly one-sided.
His article is character assassination, plain and simple.
lol..you're horrible.*sits on woman's face* Drink Budweiser!
To be fair both articles (that one and King's from today) are using the same court document as the source. I don't think anyone is denying the events though.
Edit: I think it's good that more people talk about this because Manning is a piece of trash for what he did, but Shaun King's history gives people a reason to hand wave it away.
I'm all for keeping in mind that this story is based on a document prepared by the plaintiffs in a legal case and therefore it shouldn't be treated as gospel truth. That having been said, you haven't really given any reason to treat the allegations as dubious aside from cliches about greedy lawyers going after athletes. And why are you referring to someone with Dr. Naughright's credentials and professional experience as a "girl?"
College student does something dumb and immature, gasp. The problem isn't that this wasn't being brought up (it's very old news), the problem is that racists hounded Cam about things that are old news or non-news. That's the issue.

Yeah there's no better way to protect your image as a white athlete then presenting yourself as a simple smalltown boy.Peyton has always seemed like a self-absorbed douchebag, but for some reason if you're white and wrap yourself in a "aw shucks, I'm just a good ol' country boy" facade, the media will ignore it and fellatio you if you're an athlete.
From an outsider (UK) looking in, your college football system/hero worship of them is one of the most bizarre things I've ever seen
I don't watch or care about college football. What he did was obviously horrible, but my point was directed at the people saying how outrageous it is that this didn't get mentioned leading up to the Super Bowl, yet various things regarding Cam did. I don't think either should randomly be attacked just because they're more popular at the moment. Are we trying to say it's worse that he did this now that he won two championships than it was before he was an NFL star? From an outsider (UK) looking in, your college football system/hero worship of them is one of the most bizarre things I've ever seen
The timing says it all, period. Well, that and the source (King). That's what I'm looking at. It's not that my delicate sensibilities can't imagine a world where a professional athlete is a scumbag (one that I admittedly like), but accusations against athletes and other public figures are more than cliches (nice dismissive writing, by the way).
As for your bolded question...I'll just have to beg for your forgiveness on that. If you can muster it for for a 35 year-old white man that likes Peyton Manning.
Associated Press said:Trainer's settlement involved more than Manning's mooning
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Trainer Jamie Whited's sexual harassment claims against the Tennessee men's athletic department didn't begin when quarterback Peyton Manning "mooned" her in the locker room.
Records released Tuesday by the university suggest Ms. Whited, 28, endured a long list of slights, affronts, embarrassments and, possibly, threats within the Volunteer athletic complex dating to 1990.
She reached a $300,000 settlement with the university last week and agreed to resign. UT announced the agreement late Friday without disclosing the extent of her complaints.
President Joe Johnson confirmed Tuesday the settlement will be paid with revenues from the athletic department, not taxpayer dollars.
A UT investigation conducted after Ms. Whited filed the complaint last year verified at least four of her 33 claims involving athletes, trainers, coaches and administrators. It noted athletes or trainers received some form of discipline in other cases.
But the report also contained some denials and memory lapses by Ms. Whited's colleagues and administrators. In those cases, investigators reached no conclusion and dismissed the claims as vague or too general.
Investigators concluded "both parties share responsibility for the current environment."
"Ms. Whited often sent mixed messages about matters complained of in her allegations in that she herself exhibited similar behavior or did not make clear that she found particular conduct to be offensive," the report said.
"Likewise, the Athletics Department administration could have avoided some problems by more clearly conveying to Ms. Whited the basis for actions she considered to be discriminatory."
People interviewed by investigators said Ms. Whited frequently used profanity in an effort, as one put it, "to prove that she was one of the boys."
Ms. Whited gave a different account in the complaint filed Aug. 27, 1996. She said sexual harassment allegations at UT "are treated as jokes and efforts are made to protect the student-athlete, and cover up the complaints."
Among Ms. Whited's complaints were that she was embarrassed by the nickname "Bumper," which she said athletes gave her because of her breast size.
She also said she was the subject of a song with sexual innuendo sung by the track team, had student trainers barge into a storage room where she changed clothes and received warnings that "other athletes were referring to me in a sexual manner and that I should be concerned for my safety."
But it was the incident involving Manning, considered among the favorites for the Heisman Trophy, that apparently was the final straw.
On Feb. 29, 1996, Manning exposed his buttocks as Ms. Whited bent over to examine his foot in a training room. Manning called it a prank intended for another athlete, apologized and was punished with extra running.
Ms. Whited cited the incident as the reason for taking a medical leave.
She was unavailable to comment Tuesday. A message on her home answering machine said she was grateful for the "opportunity for academic and professional achievement" at UT over the past 11 years.
"I will spend my educational leave expanding my research on health issues related to football student-athletes," she said.
Marilyn Hudson, her attorney, called it "an arduous ordeal. We are glad it is over with."
"It takes a lot for anybody to come forward," said Ms. Hudson, a specialist in sex discrimination cases, "and the larger and more influential the employer, the more courage and bravery it takes."
Some university officials were upset that Manning received the brunt of attention from the complaint. His father, former NFL quarterback Archie Manning, took it in stride.
"I know that around the country people kind of put their own headlines on stories," he said. "But that's just the way it is. I'd just like for it to die now. I believe it will."

It seems Peyton wasn't alone, but rather the whole culture of the UT sports department was toxic as hell.
Exactly, there is nothing new at all in this article. Hilariously transparent with the timing as well.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – Trainer Jamie Whited’s sexual harassment claims against the Tennessee men’s athletic department didn’t begin when quarterback Peyton Manning “mooned” her in the locker room.

As part of her settlement, Ms. Whited agreed to turn over tape recordings of university employees made during her employment. University officials refused to say what is on the tapes.
According to the pact, UT will hold them in a safe deposit box through June 30, 2005, then destroy them.”
Make of it what you will.
This was already posted, three posts above yours and about a half hour earlier, and was already added to the OP.
Glad I could make you feel good. You probably need it.
