I started playing again. Got my workaround running and started a whole new character. Unfortunately that means I'm low level again. So I doubt I would be much fun to play with until I get caught up. I started playing again the day before the ddos attack. The plan was to play with a friend but she isn't playing because of all the routing issues. Would like to play with actual people though instead of AI partners like I have been doing.

This whole situation sucks. I really hope they release a NA version if this game. I think if they choose not to I'm not even gonna bother with Sega anymore, this is the only game I really feel like playing right now. All that money spent lol lesson learned.

Why people keep forgetting how SEGA treated the US versions of PSOBB and PSU is baffling.

It's more like people would rather play a native version of the game regardless of how it's treated. There are people out there who don't want to keep having to deal with language patches, and other issues when dealing with a foreign version, even if it's small issues.

For those that use the Amazon AWS method to connect, people have noticed recently that there's a 15GB bandwidth limit per month, while this is more than enough to just play the game, large updates could be a problem.

Luckily updates can be done with the proxy turned off. Only tried with the precede from earlier today, haven't tried with an actual update, but should work with updates too.

In the case of the precede, when the box asking if I wanted to download the precede appeared, I closed the proxy and putty before clicking yes, and it worked, was able to download the precede with my home connection.

If you are using the tweaker that doesn't require any kind of proxy to download updates or the precede files. Assuming you are using ProxyCap+AWS+Tweaker literally the only thing you need to configure a rule for is PSO2.exe and potentially a web browser on the odd occasion you need to log into the players site.

Ultimate Quests, that new Naberius... I want it... @~@

I have a suspicious feeling Bouncer isn't going to be as awesome as it looks but we'll see at the end of the month.

New field and Ultimate mode look sick, can't wait.

I'm currently trying to clear all the story missions from ep2 before ep3 hits, but damn, mission 5 (the super long one with multiple checkpoints) is SO HARD. I mean the road to the last boss was fun, but taking that thing down alone as a fighter seems nearly impossible...

You can actually just walk past the Ringaurder. Theres no gate blocking the door so if you really wanted to you could just skip him entirely. Angel can be a bit tricky but if you manage to get close enough and get into a good position you can drop him in a flurry of backhands. Other than that just try and keep moving. Breaking his parts wont really help you at all.

I'm looking forward to the new Quna concert, they are one of my favourite things about the game even though it's only a silly little lobby event. The new areas look cool too, scratch stuff is disappointing aside from the Red Ring Rico outfit though.

Keeping my fingers crossed that the Bouncer class will be at least semi-decent, I always wanted to be a high mobility hybrid class and Braver is getting boring as hell to play now.

Yeah, I walked past Ring and am currently having problems with Angel. Guess I'll try again tomorrow, thanks for the advice!

I've finally cleared the EP2 Story. Those last 2 quests were really great, both gameplay (many tough fights) and story-wise. I hope that EP3 will keep things exciting.
I was happy to see that there were so little "farm enemies" nodes on the last Matter Board, so it was basically running around looking for tablets.
I also left team GAF for another, more active one, sorry guys and girls. :(

Edit:
Sorry for the double post.

If Episode 3 is just The Player and Matoi having buddy cop time traveling adventures, I will be overjoyed.

This kind of a Gaiden stuff is cool, but given the stakes near the end of EP2 and baddies still alive (
Twins
), I want to know how the main story unfolds.

Someone did the math and made a chart of all the buffs/debuffs. For those of us who don't understand japanese; Red means buff, Blue means nerf, and cross reference with Cirnopedia or something to figure out what PA you're looking for. Some interesting stuff but we won't know exactly what these numbers mean until ep3 launches tomorrow. It'd pretty funny if all that these buffs wind up doing is making the damage of X PA be the same as it is now (since Fury Stance is getting nerfed heavily come Ep3).
RIP Backhand Smash ; _;7

I'm not sure if everyone knows about this, but a boost campaign which will last until the maintenance started 30 minutes ago:
期間限定クエスト「境界を切り裂く銀の鋼刃」に対して獲得経験値が+50%!レアドロップの倍率が+200%!レアエネミー出現倍率が+50%!
The limited period quest has the following boosts: +50% xp, +200% rare drop rate, +50% rare enemy chance.

new little details in the lobby and other things are looking good

the casino area is pretty legit

time to check out bouncer!

Whose idea was it to put a moat in front of all the shops? Seriously, the elevator ramp leads right into a fountain. That's totally an ADA violation.

Some of the things they buffed are now stronger than they ever were before. It's kinda baffling. They nerf Fury Stance, which lowers damage overall. But then they buff a bunch of stuff to the point where they are now (in some cases significantly) stronger than they were before this Fury Stance nerf. They also decide to buff some things that were plenty strong (ie: Cluster Bullet, the Foie Techs, Assault Buster, Slide End) already to make them even stronger. So yeah... Hooray Game Balance Team? It really seems all they're doing is nerfing whatever is the bandwagon of the month and creating a new one.

Got up to level 26 Bouncer from turning in the 40 client orders I had stockpiled, that's enough to at least boost me up to Hard mode and jump to some good gear.

Hopefully there will be a beginners video guide for Bouncer at some point, I'm having a hard time trying to work out how exactly it works just from trial and error. In particular the gear for Dual Blades and Jet Boots, they seem to have different effects depending on the PA. Absolutely no clue how to effectively use techniques with the Jet Boots either. I have a strong feeling that people will be able to pull off some completely crazy combos eventually when they nail the mechanics - those boots have so much mobility that you can practically dance around the enemies - but the learning curve is going to be steep.

The extra hit from the JB shift function is unique to each PA, yes.

Standing: unleashes the currently stored element on the boot and returns to default state
Generic: does a ~3 hit auto combo
first PA you get: slams down and casts Shifta (imbues Fire)
Moment Gale: spin around with moderate AOE and casts Zanverse (imbues Wind)
the other PA I don't have yet, but it autocasts Deband I think.

Zonde techs have great potential I feel; Zondeel for grouping enemies together to take a hot liquid shit on with a PA or Ilzonde to chase down mobile enemies. Do also abuse the free(?) Charge Escape and the ability to charge techs while hovering.

Yeah the 3rd PA is Deband, from what I can tell it does a small wave of damage, then your character flips backwards (seems really good for dodging a hit) and deband autocasts. I really love the PA as well.

What is the stored element thing you mentioned though? And I have no idea what Charge Escape is, if it's in the Bouncer tree I've not invested much in that yet since almost all the descriptions are untranslated.

Whenever you use a tech (this includes the PA extra hit) the element of your weapon switches to that type. You can release the element and go back to the default with standing Shift.

Charge Escape is a new skill on the Force tree that lets you keep your charged tech through a dodge. I thought it was main class only, but either I'm wrong, it comes by default on Jet Boots, or Sega did an oopsie with programming.

I'm guessing it's default on the boots, I'm sub-Techer but dodging doesn't seem to get rid of that element charge.

I meant like charging up a tech like Foie or Resta or whatever, not whatever element is stored on the boots. Maybe you were talking about that though cause these terms starting to get confusing.

Been avoiding PSO2's and its development ever since that stupidity happened... but after seeing that I'm coming back to the game... wonder how many people (still) play.

Honestly, aside from B20 the population seems to have expanded rather than shrunk. Since Ep 3 came out even with premium membership I find it hard to get a VH/SH block spot for emergency quests.

Looking forward to Ultimate mode, maybe everyone getting swatted in 1-2 hits will mean they learn to play smarter and respect support skills and ranged weapons instead of just charging in head first with their Fury Stance.
