On March 19/20 (depending on your Time Zone), Kinda Funny Games had another broadcast where they talked about some popular games of today. On the topic of Phantom Blade Zero, Andy shared his impressions and a couple of peculiar facts about the game: Phantom Blade Zero will have three game modes/difficulty levels and eight different endings.

Three Game Modes

First of all, Phantom Blade Zero will be challenging but not in Soulslike-leves. The idea is for everyone to have fun and there will be different game modes for every type of gamers, from casual to hardcore.

“It’s gonna have a Story Mode and a Normal Mode, and then it’s gonna have like an Extreme Mode that takes out a lot of premade combos…the enemies will start to react more to your moves if you start to spam stuff…they got some really cool stuff happening in this game.”

Good. I never really understood not having difficulty levels in Souls games. As long as the game is originally designed around a specific difficulty, I see no reason why not to cater to more casual gamers. It just hurts the games sales, imo. Which is terrible for consumers
IMHO, Elden Ring sales weren't affected just because you can trivialize the game with a weapon, and the game always rewards you with weapons that can be used for it, depending of your status, of course.

Yeah, it's much more difficult to get stuck in a game like Elden Ring because you can always venture somewhere else. For linear Souls games, a lot players are required to farm areas repeatedly and level up before being able to move on. A lot of gamers just quit the game out of frustration
