I dont get why there are people upset at them not showing anything for Gears E-day. We all know the game is coming, we all know what kind of gameplay it will have.

A game that is ready for release next year, would have a trailer by now. You know, like that Marvel Tokon game.

If you are not ready to release, stop talking.

I doubt Infinite gets ported to PS5.

They've already announced they're going to 80 dollar games. Halo remake coming to PlayStation is something they'll want to get as much revenue out of as possible.
I still can't believe we are seeing this.

Why wouldn't they port it over? What reason is there to not port it over? The game didn't light the world on fire critically, but there is still tons of money to be made for it on PS5 and it seems silly for MS to ignore it especially considering how few new GP subscribers that have been picked up.

Halo Infinite holds zero nostalgic value. It's a 2021 game and every day that goes by, it gets more aged as a result.

Unlike Forza Horizon 5 it was never terribly popular either and I barely think FH5 made much sense if they're releasing FH6 next year.

In this case I don't think the juice is worth the squeeze. Could I be wrong? Absolutely. It could find an all new audience on PS5, which could bring back the audience on PC and Xbox. It has a lot of competition though.

There are more people playing MCC right now on Steam than Infinite...

It was the last console to actually be better than high end PCs for about 6 months iirc. That's a thing of the past. Consoles at launch are essentially mid grade PCs anymore with no real custom parts like the "emotion engine". So if MS has Asus make the next Xbox, who cares? They wouldn't do much, if any better anyway.
Nothing stopping any of the hardware makers from implementing exotic hardware like HBM memory, regardless of them being x86 based. The PS3 and it's Cell CPU killed that and meant that consoles had to be profitable from the start and easy for developers to manage. Especially as games themselves got more complex.
Then you have issues with developers neglecting to optimise for said custom architecture, just look at the issues with the Series S and X two consoles that share the same common hardware design but with different performance targets

I think the strategy is to slowly roll thing out. Infinite will come to PS5. But probs not for 5 years.

Keeper
Gears: Reloaded
South of Midnight
Avowed
Oblivion: Remaster
Tony Hawks 3+4
Call of Duty Blops 7

Only 3 out of those 12 are 'remaster remakes'. And one of t hose, Oblivion, has been on top of the console charts last month.

At a point they have to spread the games out too, not have 20 first party games in the same year. 🙏
