Microsoft… where are Fable, Perfect Dark and Gears E-Day?

Is the 25 year anniversary next year?

If it is. Its obvious they are are trying to create some mega hype year. Maybe new hardware?

I was not bothered about any other game apart from fable. That game is taking forever. I wouldn't grade the show more than a C or D for the fact that was missing.
Honestly I'd not worry about Fable, the developer is one of the best and this looks really ambitious. A strong C for me but a few notable missing games, namely SoD3 and Gears E Day the former being the one I would actually be worried about.

I've not played state of decay too much but it was interested in the new one. When was that announced again? I remember a CG trailer with a deer haha

Looks like everything is in good ol' 2026. Wishing everyone luck when it comes to free time for it because it's going to be the biggest in years counting GTA 6. Fuck knows how I am going to fit it in when my little one will be over 1 and when the true fun begins with energy galore. Fuck lol

Expect delays as always

Unsurprising how OP doesn't have a thread wailing about no Wolverine at the SOP.

And Gears E Day was revealed in 2024, just last year. How is it a deal breaker that it wasn't shown off at this event?

"Next year" is ALWAYS the year according to Phil.

For anyone not hamstrung by petty platform wars, they've certainly been delivering games now at a steady clip

Surely it's not even that anymore given Microsoft's push to more multiplatform titles.

Wolverine wasn't announced in 2020

Old habits die hard. It'll probably be a few years before they wean this shit out

2021, yes. 10 months after Perfect Dark. But you're crying in the thread title about a Gears game announced in 2024 🤡
Didn't insomniac suffer from a pretty serious data leak?

« Samey » first person shooters with Clockwork Revolution? InXile's next game « samey »? GTFO

You're joking right? The game was shown in like 2019 and has been delayed further.

So delayed in Covid like every other single title? They're saying it will release next year for the 25th anniversary it will release next year would bet a year of gold on it.

Lol, it was delayed from 2025 to 2026. What are you on about with Covid?

It's hard to believe that we're almost halfway through 2025. I would love to see a new console released at the end of next year to coincide with the 25th anniversary. Release it with the next main Halo game and I'm all in lol. Release Fable 4, Everwild, Perfect Dark, GoW E-Day through the Summer of 2026, and then finish the year off with Halo and a new console.

It was originally delayed from COVID and production slowed, this impacted all release deadlines obviously. I believe the developers even talked about it at one point.

One year delay for the 25th anniversary is going to result in a highly polished game, doubting Playground is something new even for you but 😂

Look, you can keep doing these silly mental gymnastics but the point is very simple. It isn't rocket science:

They've always released when promised

Playground Games: "Coming 2025"

Reality: Not coming 2025

"Always released when promised"

It was announced in 2020, not 2019. .

Gears one is fine but the PD and Fable management is some horseshit. Fable especially they keep talking about it without showing much of anything and now it goes radio silent? Can't convince me that MS aren't incompetent.

The management of Playground games - one of the best studios in gaming - is now 'incompetent' because they refuse to align their marketing plans to suit you :pie_roffles:

Where is Fable, Everwild, Perfect Dark, Gears, State of Decay 3 and many other games that were announced more than 5 years ago? You mean... it was a major smoke sale by Xbox.

It's weird they still call these Xbox shows. I'm sure most are just watching to see upcoming PS5, Switch 2 and PC games.
Calling it An "Xbox" show where 80% of the games you can play everywhere else 😂

That's definitely a choice.

Why would we need another Console that would sell even worse than the current X/S Generation?

Are they still trying to decide if Perfect Dark will be a first person shooter or a third person shooter?

Because this sure is crazy.

Last thing I heard about Perfect Dark is that the studio helping got bought and told to prioritize Tomb Raider.

Last thing I heard about State of Decay 3 was sexism and bullying allegations.

Honestly, I thought the same thing at first.

Then, the power of Microsoft's Xbox strategy is fully apparent.

It's an off-year for them and they don't have to show any bangers, the bench did fine.

Doesn't soften the blow for anyone expecting info on those games but it definitely proves their point, IMO.
Every year is an off year for this shit head company ran by retards.

Xbox 360 didn't have off years.

I'm just glad I get gears on ps5 this year.

Announcing things when development has seemingly just began is still biting them in the ass.
They've gotten better in recent years but MS still loves doing their "next year will be the best one ever, for real this time!!!" thing

Honestly I can forgive E Day for skipping since they showed the trailer of Reloaded, which comes out in a couple months.

But Fable missing after what feels like 100 years of dev time is just absurd.

Which Gears game was announced more than 5 years ago?
How is 2020 'more than 5 years ago'?

This talking point became meaningless when their first party started drumming out games in a steady cadence.
They're already delivering now.

No, it's incompetent because they revealed something then have only shown cutscenes since then and now have gone radio silent. Have we even seen an extended peak of what the game looks like from a gameplay view? Bizarre strategy by MS who seem intent on deflating all hype of their own franchises. Next you'll tell me the one more thing being CoD is good strategy.
