Are there really that many people who still use wired headphones? I switched to Bluetooth over 2 years ago and haven't looked back. It was so freeing not having the wire get caught on things.

What’s your normal flow to keep them charged? Ever been caught with an empty battery when you wanted to use them?

The note 7 is a really nice looking phone... But everytime I think about going to Android I just remember even Google's iOS apps are superior to their Android apps.

I'm not a fan of a phone without a headphone jack though and will not buy an iPhone that lacks one.

The design is getting super stale and boring. It dont look good imo.
That and the missing audio jack makes this a no-no in its current form, regardless of apples "Bluetooth super powersave headphones".

What if I want to use my better quality wired ones?

I usually listen to them on my way to and from work so about 2 hours a day, sometimes I use them on the weekends a lot, other times not much, I plug them in Sunday night and they are good to go all week. Usually by Sunday night they are down to 50% or so. I think it would be hard to run them down in one day.

Still think its a huge mistake removing the headphone jack... this year. Seems like something worth saving for the next year with the redesign.

We removed the headphone jack... but look how thin and sexy it is now!!! And new features!

flubbing it this year will definitely move people to other phones (expect advertisements for other phones pimping that they got headphone jacks), and even if 2017 iphone is super hot, people don't often upgrade phones yearly.

Galaxy s7 family is currently the best selling phone in 2016, feels like Samsung can that lead quickly next year too after the initial iphone launch bump.

We've really reached the stagnation point with smart phones.

I have a Nexus 6P, and for the first time in my life I'm not looking for the next phone to buy.

The designs are just uninspired at this point... But, I'm sure this will sell a bajillion units. It's an Apple device.

Lighting earbuds with the box and $40 adapter for 3.5mm confirmed, I guess.
Not biting on this, but I'll happily upgrade to a discounted iPhone 6s Plus from my 5s.

I switched from Android to iOS and would not agree with that.

They are better integrated on android, for sure. And gmail on iOS is terrible.

Edit: and probably back to android to me now... I kind of miss Google now anyway... Which also sucks on iOS because it's part of another app

I will never use wireless headphones unless I'm forced to.

I still disagree...you don't have Google on tap but swiping to the left is basically the same as tapping the Google app.

Android doesn't have the iOS version of Gboard that has been out since May.

I find Gmail on iOS to be a much better and more streamlined experience than on Android.

However if Apple fails to incorporate a headphone jack I WILL HAVE NO PROBLEMS RUNNING TO SAMSUNG.

does it matter if Inbox is better anyways?

Has to be fake. That connector is laughably huge and ugly.

Look at that shit.

Was a good sale so I just purchase a 6s Plus. If this is a permanent change I'm going to be seriously considering changing brands next time my contract is up.

Apple is going to hurt themselves on this. I could sunderstand removing the headset jack if they went with USB-C for a universal standard, but having lightning connector headsets that only works with iPhones and iPads is a dumb idea. You can't even connect such a headset to a Mac.

At least they saved space and made it thinner by removing the jack and the DAC from the phone itself, right?
Well the phone itself still needs to have some kind of DAC for the speakers, but it can be of lower quality now so that would likely save them money. I don't think the phone is going to be much thinner as a result of any of the changes, what Apple is most likely doing this for is internal space to increase battery capacity without making the phone bigger.

Until lightning connectors replace your USB ports.

You raise an excellent point here. Although if they bundle the phone with both a lightning to 3.5mm and a 3.5mm to lightning adaptors, then it should resolve most issues.

They're not going to bundle an adapter.

The message will be wireless / lightening is the future. Lightening EarPods pack in with upsell to Bluetooth.

I saw the note 7 today at my Tmobile store today...wow what a nice damn design...and that S-Pen is slick as hell. It feels like you're using an actual pen....

Plus headphone jack! Apple DOES need to step their game up!

Lol what a shit phone. "Introducing the iPhone 7, it's the same damn phone we had for the pass two years, but without a headphone jack." /Idiots run out and buy the shit out of it. Man I really wanted to get rid go this 16GB 6S Plus because I only have 1GB of space left and want to downsize to the regular phone, because I'm over the whole "big screen" thing.

Edit- Also they should seriously consider moving on from Johnny Ive, guy doesn't know what the hell he's doing anymore.
