Motorola already has one out and other chinese androids are already out without a jack.

The real world is different than the one you think you live in.
Lmao and I highly doubt those phones have the same number of sales/impact that the iPhone does.

Nice try, though.

rumor says next year is the fancy redesign because the market isn't on fire for apple anymore
We're hoping that's why the 7 is basically just the 6 with a new antenna and bigger camera bulge. Save on the R&D for the new design, funnel it all into the 10th Anniversary iPhone 8. They might as well just call it iPhone 10. Though it's the 11th release. Ugh, the iPhone line is all over the place tbh.

Man, the rumor mill is going to be impressive next year once we start finding out info about it.

It will look better on launch and marketing, but damn, it's ugly.

What a time to be alive: Android phones used to look like cheap plastic rip-offS, now it's almost the other way around (compared to something like the s7edge it's embarassing.).

The supposed blu color though was ace. And all everyone care is performance, after all.

All my iphone friends though freaked out today when I said "you know they're ditching the jack port, right?". They had no idea xD

I'm not sure how anyone thinks Samsung phones look better than this. The s7... I don't get it.

Then again I've never really been bothered by the 6 design, so maybe we just have different taste. At least the iPhone is sleek, minimalist and and smooth. The s7 has shit everywhere.

Not liking this at all, I've had a Sony Z1 for the last 2 years and I was going to swap back to the iPhone with the 7... Now I'm not so sure. What would be the best android phone on the market (or coming out within the next couple of months)?

I guess it's the glass on both sides, it just feels better.

And I've been an iphone user up to the 6.

What do you mean the s7 has shit everywhere? It's the definition on sleek and smooth. But yes, different tastes I guess.

But when I looked at the iphone 4 or 5 for the first time I was like "damn". Now it's more "ugh". xD

iPhone 2017 will likely be sexy as fuck because they sure as hell didn't use any of their sexy designs on the 2014-2016 launches apparently

I'm personally going to be holding onto my 6 Plus until the 2017 iPhone.

I strongly believe that the 7 will be an incremental update in comparison to the potential "anniversary" iPhone.

I have reason to believe that Apple will be using their new display technology in next year's phone, along with some manner of water proofing and wireless charging. Apple will want the 10th anniversary iPhone to revolutionize the market like the original did when it launched. I suppose we'll see.

As far as the removal of the 3.5mm jack, it's too bad, but that's the way it goes as portables get smaller. I hope that apple provides an adapter in box, but I know that's asking too much.

That being said, I'm surprised by the number of posters that seem to act like this is some knee jerk design decision, and maybe the 3.5mm jack will come back next time, or whatever. I'm not going to say that this makes it easier for anyone, but it's not like the work around is going to be expensive or difficult.

I'm pretty sure if we showed people the S8, whatever it's going to be like, and Iphone 7 with all branding removed that people couldn't tell the difference.

Dual Speakers
If those are dual speakers, where's the microphone?

I'm not sure I expected to see such terrible opinion on aesthetics in this thread.

The S7 series is hot. The Note 7 is the new hotness. Years ago, I was stating that this should be what phones should be aiming for. The S7 Edge and Note 7 have screens that push to edge without the lame side bezel. The screen takes up most of the body on the phone unlike Apple who are STILL making phones with huge ass top and bottom bezels. The Note 7 is a smaller phone than the iPhone 6s+, yet it has a screen that's .2 inches bigger. That's unacceptable. Don't know how you anyone can say this doesn't look better:

Browsing mobile-GAF on a the dark theme on this thing would be a thing of beauty (I enjoy it on my S7). The phones look better in person when you actually have it in front of you.

Apple's best selling product is getting out designed and they haven't done anything about it yet. You may argue that they don't have to, but that's not some shit that Steve what let slide.

Maybe they are removing the headphone jack this year so that it will not be a fresh issue when a radical, super thin redesign happens later on that would require it's removal anyway.

That's the only thing I can think of, because I use my 6's headphone jack every single day and it seems like such a stupid idea to remove it. As of right now I cannot imagine buying a smartphone without one.

Also, I feel like the plastic antenna bands look much worse on this than the 6. I also really don't like how the camera bezel looks. I won't say it looks cheap, but again it looks worse than my 6.

What's ugly about it? I always found the 4 and 5 (which were still beautiful, I'll admit) a bit boxy myself. I prefer the slimmer, sleeker 6.

With the s7, I don't like how the front isn't visually symmetrical. Plus it looks a little cheaper. It's far from being an ugly phone, but I do prefer the 6, and if rumours are true, the 7 design.

There's no symmetry to the front of the phone. The rectangle button, I do not like. Not really convinced with the edge screen either, I don't really get it. The only bezel on the phone that annoys me is the top and bottom, abe both the s7 and 7 still have them.

I'll have to have another look at it in person.

Do you understand what the word "symmetry" means? How is the S7 not symmetrical but the iPhone is on the front? What about the symmetry of the position of the camera on the back of the iPhone?

Had iPhones since the 3G but if there is no headphone slot I will just keep my 6 till it dies of old age and then get an android. I don't like Bluetooth quality.

I thought removing the 3.5 jack was supposed to make it thinner? That doesn't look different.

There's really no reason for Apple to remove it apart from some people's outright hate for the connector and having their own superior (compared to other bt headphones) standard that no one else will be able to use.

All that work trying to get rid of the headphone jack for a thinner phone, and you still have a camera that sticks out like a wart.

It does make your wallet thinner now that your current headphone will no longer work on the iPhone without buying an Apple certified lightning adapter.

Idk. For some reason I think they doing a marketing ploy

They take the L and remove some shit

Then bring thst shit back on the next installment and announce the bomba. And everyone will buy it

It's like the s6 with no microsd slot.they took the L. then the s7 was announced with micro sd slot and everyone was happy.

They always include headphones in the box for the iPhone... so they’ll either include lightning headphones or an adapter + regular headphones.
Headphones for sure. Adapter not so sure.

I'd imagine that they'll either put new lightning headphones in the box or Bluetooth ones.

So in other words youve never used or held and S7/S7E

Are there really that many people who still use wired headphones? I switched to Bluetooth over 2 years ago and haven't looked back. It was so freeing not having the wire get caught on things.
