Kerning is the spacing between pairs of letters, and it's one of those things that - when you've been taught to recognise it - sticks out like a sore thumb when it's badly done. In the case of this pic, the kerning between the "C" and "E" of "Offices" is far too wide, almost making the word two separate words - "Offic es".
The joke is that bad kerning is so infuriating to someone who knows what it should look like, that training someone you hate to see it is a great way to piss them off in daily life.
...and now that I've beaten that poor, simple, defenseless gag into the ground I'll be off. I HOPE YOU'RE HAPPY, YOU MONSTER!

Heh, they're building a 20-something story building next to where I work. They have to keep moving the port-a-potty floor by floor. It's pretty funny seeing a port-a-potty on the top of an unfinished building.
