I find the UK is better at having specific words for specific things. Eg biscuit/cookie. Crisps/chips/fries

Barbeque typically refers to the food or a specific type of grill in the US.

And we have all those words too and the item we're qualifying is specific to the word but it's just opposite of what you guys use them for. Crisps/chips/fries/biscuits/cookies are all different things here in the US and no one uses them interchangeably for the same item.

BBQ also refers to specific food in the UK too, usually food which has been cooked outside. On a BBQ.

Americans frequently call biscuits 'cookies'. And things like scones biscuits. You took our language and you BUTCHERED it you MONSTERS.
