Picture Size

Poody

What program do you use to photoshop a picture?
Those of you w/ widescreen tvs specifically Samsungs, what picture size do you use? The options i have are 16:9, Panorama, zoom1, zoom2 and 4:3. Most of the time i can't decide which looks better.

It depends on the material your watching
Keep in mind using zoom and such on 4:3 material is going to cut part of the image off.

I'm playing RE4 and I really can't tell what screen works better.

If the screen is 16:9 and I assume RE4 is too, is it really that difficult to see which of them makes it fill the screen best without clipping off edges?

4:3 for regular TV, 14:9 for some widescreen TV and movies that don't quite fit 16:9 properly, and 16:9 for most movies and supported TV.

Resident Evil 4 has forced widescreen. (IE, not anamorphic) So your best off using zoom, beyond good and evil is the same way.

Zoom2 cuts just the top and black bars off if I can remember correctly; left and right side, don't remember. That's what I played it on.

I haven't gamed much on an HD-TV, but just for watching normal 4:3 programming, our Panasonic HDTV has a mode called "Just," which does something fairly clever: it stretches the image out to fill the screen, but the center of the screen is 1:1 ratio. As you get closer to the left and right, it starts doubling pixels more. You get this slight wrap-around effect, and it's good for watching shows with the whole screen without everything looking squooshed.

yeah. its good for regular tv watching where the camera doesnt move too often. when it does move, the warping is quite obvious.

But when you get the PS2 version of RE4, choose 16:9 as it supports true 16:9.

And when you get a 360, choose 16:9 again, and it will look amazing since it's in hi def.
