Can't remember the last time I had Pizza Hut. It's been years.
Out of the major chains, I prefer Dominoes and we have much better local options in PHX.
Dominos is absolute shit. Marcos with Garlic-Parmesan crust is the best delivery chain at the moment.

Best pizza: Shakespeares in Columbia, MO.

NOOOOO. I had a job there while in HS. Wasn't a perfect place, but I still kind enjoyed working there. RIP. :messenger_loudly_crying::messenger_loudly_crying:

edit: Just read the link. Thought it was the whole company. Definitely gotta get some pizzas from there.

Used to love this place as a kid back in the early 90s. Place was packed every time we went, which was often. They have fallen so far since then that I think COVID only really accelerated the inevitable.

If im forced into chain pizza I go Papa John’s. I genuinely have no idea, is Papa John’s a big deal outside of Kentucky/Ohio/Indiana?

Papa Johns is terrible everywhere. You know your pizza is bad when you have to add garlic sauce for free to make them edible.

I could read a few levels above my grade as a child because of the personal pan pizza reading club they had. It was also where you could find Double Dragon 2 on the arcade.

R.I.P.

Rest

All these years later I still chuckle at what a fucking moron that guy is.
You can only sell so much "it barely qualifies as pizza" pizza until the market reacts.

I had a Pan pizza form there two weeks ago for the first time in years. It was ok. I still hate to hear about this.
Their pan pizza just isn't the same. One of the reasons I haven't been there in years. But as you said, still hate to hear about people losing their jobs. 2020 ain't shit!

My city closed our last Pizza Hut location late last year so I won’t be losing any because I have none to lose.

I don’t eat chain pizza anymore. It’s just not very good. That said, Pizza Hut always had more nostalgia than any of the others, it’s the first one I ever had. Those breadsticks were even better than the pizza.

If I’m forced to eat a chain now it’d be papa johns. The ingredients just taste fresher and it’s less greasy than the others.

National chains will always stick around, except for major cities because they have better alternatives and the chains just don’t get enough business when major cities have pizza joints on every corner.

They jumped the shark long ago. Not great pizza either. Feel sorry for the franchisee business owners and staff but not the lazy corporate churn and burn cookie cutter pizza approach.

About 2 years ago they would have their 50% off coupons. I would get a large 3 topping stuffed crust pizza for only $7.99 it was glorious.

Huge in Asia, but they don't really focus on pizza that much, it's more of a sit down restaurant. I miss seeing the salad bar tower stackers in China since they removed the salad bar.

This wasnt some random thing, you'd see it in all the Pizza Hut restaurants.

And I thought that Pizza Hut Hong Kong was gross.

>We stop eating there after we got one disgusting pizza. We didnt even know what they put in there or if they just didnt clean before.

I sometimes (when i got no choice) took some slices on the go from the "To Go" stations of them.

We got an private restaurant were we order pizza now that offers great italian and american pizza with cheesecrust and stuff.

I loved Pizza Hut...but the local store is terrible with service. I have ordered a pizza from them and waiting 45 minutes..get to the building and have to wait another 30 minutes..for two pizzas...I can go to Dominos and get the same and have it in 20 minutes.

People grew a brain and realized there’s better pizza?!?!

Joking aside: expect a lot bankruptcies and closures. We are still in August...

Pizza Hut was always super-greasy. For chain pizza I preferred Dominoes and I'm lucky enough to have some lovely local pizzarias near me that do really delicious pizza. Sucks for those who lost their jobs though - I feel for people right now, these are horrible times.

Now this sucks, I tried Pizza Hut again for the first time in years earlier this year and thought it was good, I hope my local one stays open, it's been there for as long as I can remember.

Used to eat them in a shopping nearby my house. But the quality fell very quickly and I gave up completelly.

Still sad to hear that.

In the age of lockdown it seems like a business that delivers pizza and pasta has to try to fail. Even the dine-in locations still deliver after all. I guess the rent on all that square footage must have been too much to bear.

I prefer Marcos Pizza myself. Pizza Hut used to be very good. But the quality began to decline and the pizza is so damn greasy now.

I feel like like Little Ceasars is also putting the hurting on all the other pizza chains.

A missed opportunity not to up the delivery game for sure.
