Ps2 is very awesome news. With all these f2p games coming and mmos even a person who only has enought o buy a console should just jump right in because it will have a decent amount of f2p games you can enjoy while saving up for the other games.

All this news is really exciting me about next gen. Sony indeed is on a roll and catering to a large variety of ppl.
 
nice, I wonder if I should get into PS2 now on the PC and then just transfer my stuff over to the PS4... nah, ill just stick with guild wars.

Expect you don't play this game like BF or COD. If you intend to solo your way through this game, expect rubbish cert gain and frustration all round. The game is meant to be played with others - it's a MMO after all.

Well PS+ offers Vita games, and I don't own one of those.

I can see PS+ spanning all 3 systems - 1 PS4 game a month, couple of PS3 and a couple of Vita games.

But you're right. It's easy PR - A gorgeous shooter, massive player count and a month of PS+ all included. Come on Sony - don't let me down.

Very true, but I do wonder if PS2 wouldn't benefit from changing how weapon/upgrade pricing is revealed to players. It did initially discourage me to see that some weapons cost around 1000 cert points.
 
Now thye just need to get dust over to the ps4. I always wanted to try it but I hate to get into MMO at the end of a console's life.

Me too. Then i tested every frigging weapon on the testing area, and decided that there is zero reason to upgrade from the standard weapons. Well, zero and zero, just not enough reason, except perhaps getting single-shot/semi-auto sniper for the faction that has the other sort. Perhaps another rocket launcher. Anyway, not much to spend the certs on.

Plus, the upgrades to each weapon are fairly cheap. You could probably afford the 12x scope after an hour or so of playing.
 
excited about Planetside 2, hopefully it will looks just as amazing as it seems to look on the PC... if not better. >.<

and my brother will be happy about DCUO...he is fucking hooked right now on that game, and has got some of his friends to download it and play it with him.

Many of the default weapons are excellent for all the factions(haven't really used the Orion much). Though if you want to invest in say sniping, the 1000 cert bolt rifle is worth it. Most annoying thing was getting certs for them MAX weapons.

I have an easily above average cert gain. With hundreds of hours played. With not a single class even 25% completed and some classes like the MAX not even touched. And only two vehicles certed into at all.

People if you want to play. Buy whatever pre order pack SOE offers. You will thank me later.

Has nothing to do with controller vs keyboard and mouse because most likely Sony will support those as they did with PS3.

But the rampant cheating that is going on in Planetside 2 may scare away PS4 players. I mean, what do you think a brand new PS4 player is going to think if in the first couple minutes he gets 1 shot killed by a guy passing through a wall?

Cheating is not that bad. I've seen one in the last week.

At launch is was much worse.
 
Planetside 2 finally confirmed.

I think Sony has a unique opportunity at E3 to tell a story where gamers can buy a console and not be required to spend a dime to play games on PS4. Although I don't know if publishers would be happy with said tale.
 
heh, I was on the VS side during most of those battles in the trailer :P

The fear of cheating is so overblown. I've put over 300 hours on Mattherson and have seen maybe a half dozen cheaters.
 
I’m not familiar with the F2P pay structure of P2. I wonder if these types of games could somehow be incorporated into PS+ as an early adopter perk?

I have seen alot of TR cheaters the last week though. Dude in a MAX was warping all over 3-4 "hexes" at supersonic speeds, and just laying waste. He hasn't been banned yet, and had something like a 50-60 K/D rate.

not necessarily. I've had some sublime matches in BF Bad Company 2 and Uncharted 2 where teamwork was used successfully. And PS4 is supposed to come packed with a headset this time right? Will make communication easier.
 
This was pretty obvious to me, but awesome now that it is confirmed. I hope there is PS4 and PC cross-play so that servers stay populated 24/7.

Weapons can be bought with real money or in-game cert points. Cosmetic stuff and boosters can only be bought with real money. Then they have a monthly subscription that gives you a permanent booster, priority queues, and a monthly alotment of SC (real money currency). They could easily extend the benefits of the subscription to PS+ people.
 
Ps2 is absolutely amazing and is getting better literally every week. I really hope they make it so PC and PS4 players play on the same servers.

Part of the perception is that a lot of players think other players are cheaters if they die to them. Especially if they die to them 3-4 times. If you are a good player in basically any FPS you will be banned from servers and reported.

It's annoying but I guess just the way people are. Blatant cheaters are dealt with quickly though I agree.

The cool thing about Planetside 2 is that once someone gets reported basically everyone reports. It's not just twelve players in a lobby but potentially hundreds if one dude is screwing up a battle.
 
That's great that a game like planetside is coming to ps4. It's truly massive. Excited to see how much better it looks than my soon to be outdated PC.

i think it's a neat bonus. you'll have people who will play these games and then others who buy games and such. but in the end the ps4 is still a gaming machine for gamers.
