Forsen didn't have his secret weapon (snus), so Andy had to solo pull chicken dinner. GG.

The restarts have made this whole thing a joke. PUBG is not ready for tourneys.

Ninja and chipsy were both 3-3 when that 5 min restart happened. Total bs.

The fact that the community manager had to come out and apologize for what a dumpster fire this invitational has been is embarrassing. This is what happens when you are in early access and want to pump your fans for more money. Straight greed play.

It's pretty nuts an early access title is having tournaments.

Was that it for the invitational? Completely forgot about it today and just caught the end of that last match. Any more games coming up?

Squads left which is tomorrow I beieve.

Everyone had to see this coming right? I can't play the game for 1 night without noticing a number of glitches and the occasional crash. This game is not ready to be an esport, and frankly I don't think the genre is well suited to it either.

I don't think it needs to be an "esport", but I think it's fine to have tournaments for it. People compete in all sorts of things, as long as they understand the nature of the game being quite random I don't think there's an issue.

Clearly the observing systems need some work, and whatever is causing the crashes/early game shit in LAN needs to be fixed ASAP.

I dislike squads, so often I find myself seeing people but not being able to take the shot because it's just not worth it, it makes the game a lot more passive and boring IMO. Solo/duo is what I enjoy the most.

duos is the sweet spot for me, I enjoy all the modes (TPP & FPP) but duos feels the most well balanced. You still get exciting firefights, but they're not as stressfult as squads' or the more hunter/prey feeling of solo

I LOVE IT WHEN THE GAME LAGS AS IM TRYING TO PICK UP A WEAPON AND SOMEONE IS RUNNING ME DOWN AT THE BEGINNING OF THE ROUND THANKS GAME

My game hitches so much, even on N64 settings, I can keep my frame rate above 60 at all times but the hitching fucks me.

Issues that have been present since day 1 unfortunately.

I know, let's throw a tourney! We can fund it with microtransactions! What's vaulting again?

Friend was asking our personal Discord if anyone wanted to play, and I jokingly said I would but he'd have to buy the game for me. He did (he's a nice guy)

Too bad I can't play it. Even with everything on Low, I'm getting sub-10fps, constant hitching, even playing with featureless blob N64 buildings.

A fucking shame. I guess my PC is just too old. Everything is 4-ish years old except my GTX970.

Anyone have any guesses on how quickly the GamesCom crates are going to rise in price? I'm up to 10 of them sitting in my inventory :D.

You should definitely be getting way better performance than that. My other rig is a 970, paired with an i7-930 and its quite playable.

That doesn't sound right.
I was able to get 1080/60 on a 1060 3GB and 4590.

I've got a i5 3570k and a GTX970. It's unplayable. It loads so slowly that by the time I'm in the game, the plane has already hit the end point of its flight and I'm force ejected. I can't imagine it's my internet, which is fine for everything else (Overwatch on Max with like 17 ping), but I was also getting constant Lag Detected popups, but the few moments where I wasn't it still just ran awful.

I'm bummed :(

I have a (4.2 GHz) 3570k, 16GB of memory, and a GTX770 2GB. I can do fast drops and mostly compete for early items, and I get 60-70 fps at 1680x1050 most of the time.

It shouldn't at all be performing that badly, and I strongly suspect your hard drive or memory. How much memory and what hard disk speed? If you get a SSD it should improve dramatically, unless your system is just gummed up somehow.

your computer should be doing much better than that.
if you don't have a ssd, that's probably the issue.

I think it's your CPU.

8 gigs of ram but I have been suspecting my hard drive of being in the early stages of death. No SSD.

Ram was kinda cheap and has given me problems before. It could be a factor of both.

I have a 3570k @ 4.3GHz and a GTX 970 and I'm above 60fps all the time, I still get the hitching but I think most people do. I have a SSD and 16GB RAM.

It's not, I have the same one and it's perfectly fine. 70% usage.

Can't get into a match without network lag at all tonight. I was playing Lawbreakers with no issues, and now PUBG is pretty much unplayable. Is this happening for anyone else?

Exactly the same thing happened to me and my hard drive failed a few weeks later.

Can't emphasize this enough, back anything you (the earlier poster) care about up now. It can fail without much further warning.

Decent deals on hard drives aren't impossible to find either, though quality SSDs may take more hunting and waiting.

Thanks for the info, everyone.

Looks like I'm in the market for a new HDD. An SSD might be out of my range atm.

Honestly, SSD prices are rock bottom right now. Hell here in Australia I can get a 275GB SSD for $135, which is incredibly cheap and helps in just about everything on your computer.

Aww yiss, another fun day. Got a solo dinner as my warmup with 9 kills, condensed all the clips here:

https://streamable.com/dtda7

Was running SKS/M24 for most of them lol

Then played some games with pubg-gaf, got 3 dinners I think, including two BACK TO BACK victories!

Nice work. How did that second player not kill you though, jeez...every chicken dinner I get seems to have a close call like that near the start.

Do you use Reshade or is that just digital vibrance turned up a bit in NVCP?

Sometimes I wonder if I'm actually retarded, I keep dying just outside the blue, thinking I'm in it. Just came 3rd when I could have easily won that, still after my first solo win too so that shit hurts even more. I've won in squads but who cares about squads, need that solo dinner. I'm really starting to tilt at this point, but honestly I really find it hard to see where the blue is actually coming in, maybe my eyes are just fucked.

I have seen so many people say that they are holding crates. I don't think this is going to go up nearly as much as everyone seems to think. I mean, I am doing the same thing. But I am not expecting it to go over four dollars or so. I think that when the marketing for the crate goes away in-game that people will just forget about them. We will see.

Yeah he had me dead to rights, haha, he just potato'd harder than I did.

I'm using reshade, if you're curious about the specific settings check my post here.

I keep getting put into squad games by myself. Anybody else have major lag playing on wifi?
I feel like those sentences are unrelated. But I am not having issues on wifi. But I am experiencing getting put into squad games as a solo about one out of six times.

Finally installed this. Hopped into a game to check it out after fiddling with settings just to check it out, ended up just playing super dumb grabbing the first weapon I saw (shotgun!) and running after people. Cleared out the entire starting town, got 6 kills just going ham hunting people and then stood my ground in the middle of a field against a car and got splatted. One of the more fun rounds lol.

All my issues with loading into games, and getting down to the ground before buildings have loaded in properly were fixed when I transferred off my perfectly functioning 7200rpm HDD onto my SSD. I have no other games on there, but it made a huge difference for PUBG.

Man you never really know how a match will end up. At the start of my last match I went into a house completely unarmed and ran into a guy with a crowbar. I expected he was going to get an easy kill on me and this would be my shortest match ever, but I started jumping up and down like a maniac and finally killed him with a 'headpunch'. Wound up finishing #7 in the end, which wasn't too bad for a match I was about to lose in the first 2 minutes. What a thrill.

I think the reshader definitely would give an advantage about spotting people, which seems unfair. I guess there's no way they could ever prevent people from using highlight shaders so they're forced to allow them, though.

It is impossible to ban because you then have to throw in monitor settings being changed to give better saturation or pop on objects. It is indeed a rocky road to walk down.
