Played my first fog game. It was interesting, I know people won't like it and will prefer to have sunny clear weather to be competitive but I like all the different weather's like this and rain. I made it to top 15, I can only imagine how tense winning one of these matches in the fog will be.
Some vid I made from random FOG match I had, the tension is 10x tenser, its just so scary and different than normal maps.

I reckon its about the same, maybe faster bullets. The real difference is the attachements it takes so you pick one or the other depending on what you find. Sometimes you get an SR silencer, sometimes an AR silencer.
Considering the rarity of AR attachments, that would mean the M16 would still be the better choice overall in almost every case. In order to be worth picking up more this thing would need to edge out on those accuracy stats by just a bit. Kinda lame. I don't think the M16 is some broken super rifle, I just want more competition for it out there. Am hoping the sniper 5.56 gun can out sniper the M16 at least.
We also don't have a noncrate sniper rifle that is faster than like 800 on the stats list. Even the Mk14 barely breaks 850. M16 is at 900, so if this thing can outclass that it'll be a big bump compared to the rest of the sniper class. Could be neat on that alone.
I very often end up with a bunch of SR attachments and no SR to put them on, or a K98 which doesn't really need any of them (compensator, cheekpads*, mags). Though it does look like it doesn't take a cheekpad which seems strange.
* i know it helps but its main draw is recoil reduction and that doesn't do anything really.

Adding stuff to Stalber is nice, since that's constantly a disappointment for being so out of the way.

The game is only $30 and has been the best selling game on Steam for some time now, so getting it discounted is going to be unlikely for some time. Your best bet will be if somewhere like Greenman Gaming has a coupon code that works on any game.
the amount of recoil on the m16 just makes me unable to use it, like i put a 4x on that thing and dont even know what the hell i am doing trying to hit a target more than once. basically the only thing i like shooting at range 100m or greater right now is the kar98

also my friend and i had like 5 games out of 6 last night end on the military island, which is pretty goddamned stupid. im not angry at circle rng existing but the military island is the worst stupid place to have to journey to every damn time

I believe the logic has to do with where people are. In other words now that more people will go there the circle should tend to drift there more often as well.

It doesn't happen unless you actually stream snipe. It's pretty easy to prove. People being banned for legit reasons are probably just flooding the reviews with "stream snipe bans" out of spite.
I don't think anyone in this thread has ever cited a ban via stream sniping, so there's that.

Nice. That section of the map was always weirdly empty, there wasn't any purpose on going there.

You should definitely get used to using an AR at long range. The Kar is great if you're great, but it's best for slow moving or stationary targets. ARs and DMRs give you a lot more forgiveness when firing at moving targets and adjusting your aim.

Now I really wanna see the stats on that thing. That spread looks incredibly tight.
yeah, work in progress. this game more than any other i have played definitely makes me feel like i can't aim to save my life most of the time
i just have to be more brave for the sake of practice, usually i try to not shoot at targets that feel sketchy (read: at any sort of distance) because if i dont manage to kill them i always get totally screwed

I mean it could have just been a bit of luck and just the pure spray down in his favor. I've pulled similar shit out my ass with the SKS.
Accuracy seems hella good at least so my fear about the M16 out sniping it is pretty unrealstic now.
Fog must be my new favourite weather.
FPS at least on test server is very stable and good, 100+
Wind sound is low so you can hear everything fine, sometimes it might sound like dacia driving far away.

Fog sounds like it's gonna be fun, gonna be interesting to see how I change up my strategy.
Goddamn bet that during fog games I'll find infinitely more 8x scopes and snipers though.

It's going to be infrequent from the sound of it. They upped the frequency on the test server to help find any issues.

I had a pretty good squad game the other day
Both my friends died, leaving me alone, and I went on a goddamn rampage. I hole up in a house near where my buddies die. Then I start hearing the footsteps. I shoot a guy and kill him, the other guy tries to come in from around and I kill him, third person is outside and I go to the balcony and kill him
Then there's one person left, but I cant put a bead on them. So I go to the balcony, jump off into the top of a little shack next to the balcony, and I see the person jump down onto the balcony from the roof. They dont' see me and I take them down and kill them. According to my friend, she squealed a bit on mic when I killed her lol, I think I scared her.
Then I take my car, rage drive to the middle, and I CLAIM A HOUSE RIGHT IN THE FUCKING MIDDLE

90+ hours and still no dinner for moi. I don't know what I am doing wrong but I still feel pretty whack, got little confidence about taking on firefights. Only play FPP so hopefully match-making puts me on a playing fields with the other useless shooters.
Also this is one of the few multiplayer games I can enjoy solo as well as with friends.

FPP currently is unranked but is getting ranked play when the patch hits later this week. TPP is ranked, separately by region and mode (solo/duos/squads), and gets noticeably harder as your rank increases. They also recently shortened seasons to only 1 month so your ranks are reset at the end of each month, followed by ~24 hours of unranked play, followed by another month of ranked play, and so on. Supposedly this is the plan for the remainder of early access so they can tweak and test their ranking formulas.
