There is a compass with the numbers on the top of the screen. Its to give your teammates an approximate idea of what direction they see something. Though I do believe 0/360 is pointing north though.

Have been playing for less than a week but so far it was ok, now it's literally people warping in front of you and huge delay when looting things.

Is there optimal graphics settings to run on this?
I've just left it at ultra and ran with it, getting 40-60FPS so was happy there but watching streamers with monster rigs I see they run quite low settings, is there a point to it?

Generally, lower settings is much more clear in competitive games (thus allowing you to have an advantage). Take SC2 for example and tell me which one is more clear:
dave is ok
aztek is ok
I'd turn down shadows, foliage and maybe effects.
The rest of the options don't really seem to give you much of a performance hit if you have a decent GPU

what is the usage on the cpu when you play? you should be fine with that gpu since youtube videos show a 950 hitting 30-60 with mixed settings.
Definitely cpu is lacking. This game is horrendously optimized and super heavy on the cpu. I have an i5 4590 and I get 20 fps in the plane and anywhere from 35 to 80 in the field. Gpu usage is minimal while cpu is nearly always maxed.
I have the same CPU and it's around 90/95% usage. It's starting to show it's age haha.
EU servers are fine when it's not peak hours, same with the NA ones.
Time to upgrade that cpu.

Gah, finished 5th with 3 kills...managed to get a great spot with a silenced AK in the final circle and someone crept up on me in my bush and got me before I could react.
Lag was pretty bad too, shotnsome guy who was prone 7 times and he didn't die lol.

Last Duo match of the night, and we came in 2nd. I managed 3 kills on our way, and we got really lucky towards the end - the final 3 circles involved the last 12 or so picking each other off by/in a couple of houses while we snuck ourselves into a great spot on a little ridge in a clearing. It went right down to the wire as the final squad standing with us was pushed from their hiding spot, but after a little exchange of gunfire my buddy was taken out, and I was squeezed by the circle, even though I had the high ground. Would have been my first chicken dinner as well! Was so exhilarating, my heart was practically leaping out of my chest at the end.

wow, so my first ever match and I placed second, died to a sniper in a bush lol.
playing this game compared to watching it is night and day, i've nearly had a heart attack twice in the last half hour.
performance wise, my i5 6500 and gtx950 run the game at around 45-60 while surviving with a mix of settings, low shadows, high post processing and medium textures, really happy with it on my rig.

Yeah..I have a i5-6500 and it struggles. Only get around 60 fps, with drops to 40 and 20 in some cases

looking at my MSI afterburner charts this is the first game to make my cpu run at 90%+ while playing a game, that's crazy.
Yeah I'd expect it assuming the devs make it a priority. It's early access so I can forgive it for now.

Yeah, this game is fun as hell.
I don't play PC games much, bought DayZ and rarely played it. But between Giantbomb & a few of my friends non stop talking about Battlegrounds I gave in today and bought it. So much fun as the match winds down. Buddy and myself placed 4th in a dubs match in one of our first games. Can't wait to get back on tomorrow.

If you check the tweet, it's a short video clip. Some auto/semiauto gun.
If you hit the V key you go into FP. Feels weird though. FOV is off or something.

Won my first game today after 60 hours of play. Squad match with two friends.

While in third person view, hold right click then tap Q or E and it will change.
Right Click + hold the Q or E Button until the camera switches shoulders.
Apparently you don't even need to right click. If you press Q/E it changes regardless, although you can't see it until you do aim.
Bought the game, its very fun. But i think I have mouse issues because I can't actually aim for shit in the game. On high DPI settings on my mouse when I move it slowly left or right the mouse pointer also moves all over the place slightly up and down, is that movement normal or do I need a new mouse. I think at low dpi the movement is stable but it's to slow for me on the game.

Lean buttons when aiming in tps
i5 2500 still is pretty decent.
I have a i7 6700K with 1080GTX and 32gb memory, the game still runs like shit at low settings. The game-optimization is beyond terrible.
