I wonder how good a night version of the map/gamemode would be. It seems like it would make things much more intense but the inclusion of things like IR and nightvision might make it a bit too easy if you have those and an other player doesn't.
 
Driving around with 3 squad mates trying to find a place and somebody left a car right on top of a hill.

i dont support nightvision in any game because its always a massive headache, but a night mode would be interesting. would be a much better alternative to fucking rain.

youd think rain would cool down my computer, but i assure you it is much the opposite.
 
Heh... just spent about 15 minutes in a solo match in a car chase. It was basically destruction derby between me in a jeep and some guy in a buggy. I'm chasing the guy around trying to ram him when suddenly another jeep flies in over the hill and smashes in to both of us, killing us both.

Awesome.

Lag on NA is especially bad for me today. Impossible to drive vehicles because they keep warping backwards.
We usually switch between US and EU servers depending on peak hours. High ping is still better than dealing with servers shitting themselves constantly.

What is all of your strategies during the inevitable prone fest if a game ends (circle) in an open wheat field? Do you ever get it up? Just shimmy around strafing circling the white circle while prone?

Take all the salt and posts about people frustrated not knowing where they were shot from, multiple that by 10 and you have the reaction to explosive traps.

Doesn't even have to be something like that, it could be bear traps that are loud, hinder you for a while, and damage you. And you can just shoot them to disable them.

That way people have no one but themselves to blame.

The lag is unplayably bad right now. I was watching a doorway and the guy just teleported outside of it, then teleported again right next to me to shoot me in the side of the head.

I recommend watching Grimmmz. Dude has over 2000 viewers constantly, but the chat is pretty bearable and friendly so far, it has follower-only + slow mode activated so it doesn't get too chaotic. As for the streamer itself, dude is pretty chill, not obnoxious like many of the other most popular Battlegrounds streamers. Dude is also super good at the game, it's a wonder to watch him dominate the game.

Just carried my squad after they died 2 minutes in to a chicken dinner, killed 8 which was easily my highest total for a game. I took a 2v1 for the final circle and just made them look like fools. Dammit I wish I had been recording.
 
Probably an unpopular opinion, but I wish the final electric wall didn't do so much damage and move so quick. Ends up feeling like a crapshoot of where the safe zone spawns. Person who's in the tiny zone can snipe anybody who needs to get in, and if you stop to fire back, the zone kills you before you can heal yourself even if you stockpile first aid kits.

I'm mostly irked by the fact that this knowledge isn't exposed anywhere within the game. I really dislike gameplay elements that require outside sources to take advantage of.

I am enjoying this game for the moment, but there are lots of things about it that concern me about the long-term vision of it. This adds to the list for me.

Completely agree. This could be easily solved with a few extra icons on the map that only show up before you eject from the plane. (i.e. AK47 icon means more/better look, Pistol icon means less loot)

I also don't think there should ever be a 100% certain chance that something will spawn somewhere (i.e. 100% definitely a car there)

Yeah I assumed the loot was randomised, even if it is, but the concentrations/probability is higher in fixed spots that the game never surfaces to you then that's not good and gives a clear advantage to people that have played more or know about external maps etc. Would prefer something like you said - maybe the map could show hotspots as you're flying over, so players have to make a snap call on where to go, and they can't rely on the same places having good stuff every time

Agree-ish. Maybe the final shrink could be slower and equalised around the remaining player locations so everyone has to move in? That way you don't get the situation where it's luck of the draw whether you're in the safe bit

I think it just needs to not go into the same direction several times in a row. Barely making it only to see the circle is going to the opposite side for the third of fourth time in a row is incredibly frustrating.

I've been diving into more high risk/high reward spots lately. It's definitely a gamble and sometimes you will just die right away, but it's also really intense and I feel like starting out with a crazy loot skirmish, ending up the sole survivor with 3-4 kills under your belt makes the match feel much more worthwhile then when you land somewhere safe, wander around or hide for 15 minutes just to die by someone you didn't even see. I also tend to really like the design of those locations, like the school or the harbor with all the containers. Small skirmishes with 2-4 other people in an area with just a few houses are also really fun. On the opposite end I tend to find starting out in big towns pretty boring.

Not to say that playing it carefully has its moments as well. Had some games where I were just wandering around picking people off in open areas like a hunter and others where I found a really good spot/building in the circle to which people were flocking one by one making for some intense defending and assassinating.

I've looked at this map the first time now and i basically learned all of it exept some vehicle spawns just playing the game - without consulting outside scrouces.

Containers, towns and places like the school or the military base have the best stuff. If you pay attention to where people jump you figure that out very quickly.

Cars are a bit more tricky. But eventually you learn where to expect a car and where not.


I don't think there's outside knowledge required here. It's just the kind of nuances you eventually learn that every competitive game has. And i don't know, discovering the good places was kind of fun.

If you quote the OP, there's a link to a discord in there. There's almost always atleast one squad running in there, and chicken is often eating at least once per session.

There's loot there but not all there is during lobby time. The benches are empty for example...

Only reason to go there is that you are probably the only one, but you lose a lot of time.

You can but it requires a specific drop vector, even then you're on a tight time window, and there's generally not enough loot for more than two people to make it worth the massive time investment.

I bound them to my mouse 4 and 5 buttons (2 left side mouse buttons). Helps a lot.
I want to have separate leaning and camera switching binds, that's my issue. I don't want my camera on the other shoulder just because I leaned left for a second.

Some early morn' chicken, feels good!

I got some heat early on cause had to blast 3 people after landing but play it tactical after that, found a nice shack to loot up near the west coast and always kept to the edge of the white circle and at the end killed 2 people for the win :D
