Killzone looks sweet but is anyone else seeing a trend of mildly improved graphics (speaking relatively) but with far more units than current gen can do?

Seriously, the Dual Shock is far and away my favorite controller--it's the perfect size and shape to fit my hands comfortably--and the idea of them replacing it with this... this... this ergonomic nightmare is just... GAH! >_<

Oh, I don't disagree. I am just saying that they are not a "quantum leap" just viewing the models. It is the number of units present that impresses me.

I prefer to stay neutral or positive on things but that flippin' controller is testing me...
Holy shit! They actually changed the controller! I dunno man, I wanted them to change the DS more than anyone but wtf? They go with this design obviously influenced by time spent in the Australian outback and still don't resolve two of the main complaints.
1- button sectioned d-pad
2- left analog still not in primary position.
However I need more pics (side/top/underside) to fully judge this so called chang3. I'm guessing this is the only pic, but from the way it looks it seems to still not have triggers! :/ Possible problem #3
The system itself is extremely dull and imediately gives a "huh? what? meh..." reaction. But I guess that's what they wanted huh? Since it certainly doesn't look like a gaming system at first glance but more like the centerpiece of the media center in your home.... or fridge... whatever:lol.

That's a trend I wholeheartedly endorse. In general, I'd much rather see companies bump up the number of objects (characters, vehicles, etc.) onscreen at once than see them keep the object count artifically low so they can use the extra power to add detail to each object. Give me armies clashing and I'll be far too involved to care whether or not I can see the individual teeth on Soldier #28226.

ok, the Xbox 360 looks slick. I like it...just wish i could get a black version tho instead of the white one.

Yep, I never got all the "console x is so ugly" shit. I'm gonna be playing games on whatever I choose because I want to play fvcking games, not ogle my console. That said, I don't think the PS3 looks that bad. It's not a home run like all of the Sonyboi's wanted; but it's really no better or worse than the 360 IMO.
I mean, I appreciate a nice industrial design and all, but damn. I think some of you cats should audition for Queer Eye for the Straight Guy.

Smooth look is very different than the PS2 ridged potato chip look. Multiple launch colors is theoretically cool, though it's too bad they stuck with such a boring-ass selection.

Why hasn't Sony made a console since the PSX (original Playstation) that is symmetric?
There's always some "chunk" missing out of the console for some reason. I don't find the design too bad at all. It's far better then the PS2 but nothing all that amazing. I do like the slot loading drive.
As for the controller well it looks more comfortable to hold. As far as pure looks it's a bit ugly. Still pissed that the d-pad and primary analogue stick haven't swapped positions but maybe with the way the controller is designed now, it won't feel like you are reaching down to the analogue stick anymore.
I've never even owned a Playstation console but the bitching is already pissing me off even
