Tried out remote play for the first time. Works pretty well I must say. I tried it with Final Fantasy Remake Intergrade and no hickups at all (only played for 5 minutes because controls on phone are ass). Gonna invest in a gaming stand for the phone and attach a Dual Sense to it. Might be nice gaming PS5 in the bed. I wonder how far the reach go?

Anyone experience not being able to control the UI on startup, but the PS button works and I can navigate the media bar for a restart just fine? I just can't navigate/select games or media on some startups, and I think when this happens the touchpad side light strips on the controller aren't on, like it's half on.
A restart fixes it, so it doesn't seem like a hardware issue.

I just grabbed the miles morales ultimate edition off Amazon. I have a Spider-Man PS4 save on my cloud. Is it possible to import that save to my ps5 on the Spider-Man enhanced version or so I need a PS4 and a copy of the original game?

Hey Guys i noticed something. Can somebody pls confirm it for me?
I have the PS5 Disc Edition and if i put a game cd for the first time in, it will install it from the disc. If i delete the game from my ssd and put the disc back in again, it wont install it from the cd. It will download it!?

I’ve just installed R&C from disc 2nd time and it certainly accessed the disc for a lot then downloaded the patches as before. Think you must have a hybrid

In addition to what I posted above, I checked some more and ejected the disc while installing and it just says ‘copy paused’ on the bottom with the percentage it had got to and wouldn’t carry on with the install.
Are you sure you weren’t just reading where it says ‘downloads / copies’ ? Always says that even if installing from disc.
Otherwise I really don’t understand what’s going on!! Not trying to shit on your parade at all.

Oh boy I’m so dumb haha! The 2 games I tried it on were PS4 titles with a PS5 version in place. So of course the console would straight download the PS5 version instead installing the PS4 version again…
just tested it with demon souls and there it will install it from the BR. Sorry bro !
But that would be a good feature for me because the download is always faster for me (1 gbit speed)

Is it just me or is the HBO Max app on PS5 a piece of untested garbage?
randomly during streams it just goes “something went wrong press ok to restart the app” even though the movie is still playing in the background.
Sometimes when scrolling trying to scroll down causes it to scroll 7 or 8 lines and then just stop.

I like the console, but there’s like a 10% chance that if I put it into rest mode it will just never come back up unless I pull the power to it

So Iv'e moved my Ps5 into another room (Space saving reasons) and connected it to my 55" 1080p tv. I'm not updating tv until next year when hopefully Sony sort out VRR etc. Anyway I download Black ops 3 and 4 for my son (via PSPlus) and I end up having a few games myself and I can't help but be disappointed with the image. Does the Ps5 not down sample PsPro games on a 1080p tv. I did a quick google search and Blops 3 has chequer boarding not sure about Blops 4 and I thought maybe this has somthing to do with it ? Or, Do I have to turn it on somewhere in one of the menus ?

I agree. Even just two back buttons / paddles would go a long way in some games. But I guess it has been a good long while since Sony has released multiple versions of their controllers.

Well, jinxed myself and my PS5 is more than likely missing/stolen. Said it was delivered but never showed up while I was home, called FedEx and they said they were contacting the driver and going to try and retrieve the package so they can deliver in the next few hours. Not entirely optimistic considering this seems to be a reoccurring thing with FedEx and PS5s since launch, and the outcome is mostly theft. If I’d known it was FedEx I probably would’ve waited a bit longer before purchasing. It’s frustrating, but if it needs to be cancelled/refunded then so be it.

Yeah. It's a shame and it's the reason why I haven't replayed Doom Eternal on PS5.
Of course I have the option to play it with Dualshock 4 and it's back paddle attachment, but it feels just such a bad and small controller compared to Dualsense.
Returnal is pretty playable if you change jump and dash to L1 and R1. But the lack of paddles makes me a little bit reluctant to play FPS games on PS5.

This is exactly what I usually end up doing, remap buttons like dash to R1 or jump to L1.
With the back button attachment I thought for sure Sony was going to embrace the extra buttons with the new generation of consoles, but here we are. I've tried to learn claw but the DualSense just isn't as conducive to claw grip as the Xbox Series controllers are, but I'm 37 and don't want to fuck my fingers/hands up. Like yourself, I've always tried to play faster paced FPS games on my Series X with an Elite, and it's unfortunate I don't like playing them on the PS5.

I also was pretty hopeful of Sony implementing at least two back buttons to the Dualsense or some kind of a peripheral for the controller at launch.
I doubt that Sony will make a pro controller and I don't like third party controllers, so my options are pretty limited.
Maybe I'll just buy Xbox Series X and an Elite controller just for FPS games or a pc..

PS4 question, my daughter was playing Minecraft on the PS4 and started to get some pink squares around some duders on screen and in the middle of the screen.

It’s a fucking disgrace - I remember when it was launch day there was a video of the delivery van parking in front of the house so the gps would register it, the the driver marked it as delivered and drove away.
Although we didn’t know if shops would be open because of the pandemic, I chose store pick up and will any time it’s available because I don’t trust these deliveries.
Not long ago I had a 1000€ phone get “lost” in the delivery center and I had to wait a month because at that point the delivery company had to contractually admit guilt at which point the store could claim insurance.
Let me tell you, having 1000€ lost in the system is not a good experience.

They seem completely indifferent towards the situation as well. They were pretty quick to recommend waiting a few days and then filing a claim, as if this is standard procedure and sweeping it under the rug is the only solution. I’m pretty sure in a few days I’m going to have to hear them tell me how it was delivered and the GPS confirmed it.
GameStop seems to be accommodating with the situation which is a nice surprise and explained how it would work should I want a replacement. Even said I could switch it to FedEx Express instead of Ground, which would be much more preferable if I’m doing this again.
Still can’t believe how common this is though, and they continue to do it.

As long as the money lost in complains is less that what they save not paying their delivery people a nice wage, this will keep happening. Cost of running a business.
In my country delivery companies switched to contracting out to self employed people who own a van and paying a pittance for it, so delivery theft is commonplace - they only use company employees for the most expensive services, which tend to be the most reliable...

I picked up Godfall since it was down to 35 bucks. I know it got mediocre reviews, and I only played about a half hour last night, but compared to the similar D&D Dark Alliance I've been playing on PS4, this really looks and feels like a true generational leap. Seems fun so far.

My old (about four years old now) soundbar /w woofer was having weird audio artifacts with my PS5 - like channels dropping randomly at times.
I saw a LG soundbar, 5.1.2 channel with a subwoofer and DTS X support was on sale for $350 USD so I grabbed one this afternoon. While DTS X is only supported on blurays and 4K UHD's's on the PS5 to my knowledge, it sounds far better than my old soundbar in its default DTS X mode for games, and rocks when I watch a blurays/4K UHD. Voices, music, and sound effects are now very clearly separated and crisp in games. Great upgrade to the PS5 experience.
