Big screen for lame ass indie "games" pfft
I can do all that in the comfort of my own home. It's like going to the cinema, just to watch trailers, or random adverts... why... just why....

its an event??
it was fun to cheer and stuff with other people about stuff you are passionate about?
its cool though, close your blinds and enjoy it by yourself.
whatever makes you happy is cool.
Hey there! Yeah, time would definitely be an issue for you guys living in Asia
It would totally be an amazing experience since I know plenty of people involved in the local media who are also videogame fans, plenty of them are actually going to E3 this year. Definitely a nice opportunity to watch the event with some friends in the big screen. Still, I'm planning to do something similar at my friend's building since they can accommodate their small projection room, kind of like a smaller theater, so there's that.
You mean, close your blind and enjoy it with NeoGAF? Unless a real megaton hits, then you're back on your own again when the server goes down.
It would be cool for a Seattle GAF meetup! How hard was it to get in last time guys?

List of theaters from last year for those curious

ZERO in Wisconsin?! laaaaaaaaame
Not that there will be one within 2 hours of me (my money's on North Carolina's bring in Raligh, 2 and a half hours from where we live on the coast), but I would probably rather have Gaf than a movie theater seat.
That sounds like a great plan! Some of my friends game a bit but are by no means 'hardcore' enough to have a gathering to watch a live gaming conference. Feels so lonely
Here the gaming culture is completely different, but I still don't know many people to have a gathering like this. And I'm not sure I want to experience E3 without a few windows of GAF open to watch the meltdowns.
Personally, I'll do what I've been doing every year. Take 3 - 4 days off work, buy snacks and drinks, take as many power naps as time allows and sit in front of two computers with headphones and the lights off. One to watch the conference and the other to be part of the hype here on GAF.
So good.
Enjoy the conferences! With a lot of Inca Kola. Man, how I miss it.
Because IFAIK, the company they work with only does it for theaters in the US and Canada.

Knowing that there are Sony employees roaming around this thread, all I ask is you make this conference better than last years. Like how you did it in 2009.
And show lots of exclusive games!
(Please show ratchet and clank, gravity rush 2, and Level 5's PS4 game. Fingers crossed for a dark chronicle 2/dark cloud 3)

Adorable.
You'll eat your call of duty and you'll like it!
This is an incredible conference that most likely won't ever happen again. It was at a time where the PS3 needed to make a come back so Sony needed a conference to throw everything at the wall and than some.
Last years was a lot of fun so I'm definitely going to try and go again this year.
They need to throw everything at the wall this year. When the media and forums are asking where the games are, they need to respond.

Cool they are doing this again, but I think I'm gonna pass this time around. Had fun, but I don't think the 3hr round trip on a Monday night was worth it tbh.
Edit: Might go if they have a show in or around Cinci/Dayton. Columbus is just too far though.
I was at the Columbus show too (remember the fight that happened during Powers? Haha) and I had a five hour round trip from Toledo but I was able to get a couple days off work and visit some friends while I was down there which made it the highlight of a little mini vacation.
The only problem is I don't have anyone down there that would want to sit around and watch the rest of the conferences that morning instead of, sigh, actually doing stuff.
Some Inca Kola, canchita and snacks for sure. We are actually planning to get some Mountain Dew and Doritos for the real E3 flavor lol. If you ever feel like listening to Peruvian videogame-related podcasts then I suggest looking up Wilson Portal (Wilson Podcast) and Cultura Paralax (Me paso los sábados hablando de videojuegos) on Facebook. Might help mitigate some of the homesickness![]()
