PlayStation E3 Experience 2015 Announced (Theaters)

Cool they are doing this again, but I think I'm gonna pass this time around. Had fun, but I don't think the 3hr round trip on a Monday night was worth it tbh.

Edit: Might go if they have a show in or around Cinci/Dayton. Columbus is just too far though.

I had so much fun last night, the gamers in the theater were awesome.

also its not like I have anything else to do on a monday night in June.

UtahGAF! lets do this.

I can do all that in the comfort of my own home. It's like going to the cinema, just to watch trailers, or random adverts... why... just why....

its an event??

it was fun to cheer and stuff with other people about stuff you are passionate about?

its cool though, close your blinds and enjoy it by yourself.

whatever makes you happy is cool.

You mean, close your blind and enjoy it with NeoGAF? Unless a real megaton hits, then you're back on your own again when the server goes down.

Hopefully they have things actually substantial to show this year to make it worthwhile.
The only "wow" thing last year was Bloodborne and we all knew that was coming.

Hey there! Yeah, time would definitely be an issue for you guys living in Asia :P
It would totally be an amazing experience since I know plenty of people involved in the local media who are also videogame fans, plenty of them are actually going to E3 this year. Definitely a nice opportunity to watch the event with some friends in the big screen. Still, I'm planning to do something similar at my friend's building since they can accommodate their small projection room, kind of like a smaller theater, so there's that.

That sounds like a great plan! Some of my friends game a bit but are by no means 'hardcore' enough to have a gathering to watch a live gaming conference. Feels so lonely :(

Here the gaming culture is completely different, but I still don't know many people to have a gathering like this. And I'm not sure I want to experience E3 without a few windows of GAF open to watch the meltdowns.

Personally, I'll do what I've been doing every year. Take 3 - 4 days off work, buy snacks and drinks, take as many power naps as time allows and sit in front of two computers with headphones and the lights off. One to watch the conference and the other to be part of the hype here on GAF.

So good.

Enjoy the conferences!
With a lot of Inca Kola. Man, how I miss it.

Well i'm finally close enough to go to one of these things, based on the free stuff that went out last time, why not go! (if i can get tickets). Sucks that it's a Monday at 6:00PM though, i'll probably have to leave work early.

lol

Yes. Trust me watching these conferences with GAF is my favorite part of E3, but a night out with some friends to see the conference with some free swag is really fun too.

Not that there will be one within 2 hours of me (my money's on North Carolina's bring in Raligh, 2 and a half hours from where we live on the coast), but I would probably rather have Gaf than a movie theater seat.

Last year we all thought "damn they probably have something really big to show if they are opening Theatres for it" but it wasn't the case so I'm not gonna build high hopes for this year.

Well, this might be the closest I ever get to E3, I think I'll check it out, assuming they come to my tiny city (Fargo). But if they really are hitting every state, then Fargo has a pretty good chance.

I was shocked that Baltimore or Harrisburg wasn't listed last year. Hopefully, there will be a showing in Harrisburg and a Beta code for No Man's Sky.

Some Inca Kola, canchita and snacks for sure. We are actually planning to get some Mountain Dew and Doritos for the real E3 flavor lol. If you ever feel like listening to Peruvian videogame-related podcasts then I suggest looking up Wilson Portal (Wilson Podcast) and Cultura Paralax (Me paso los sábados hablando de videojuegos) on Facebook. Might help mitigate some of the homesickness :P

Because IFAIK, the company they work with only does it for theaters in the US and Canada.

Also, 6PM PST translates to:

London: 2AM
Paris: 3am
Tel Aviv: 4am
Beijing: 9am
Tokyo: 10am
Sydney: 11am

So, I guess Australia would kinda make sense, and South America too.

Knowing that there are Sony employees roaming around this thread, all I ask is you make this conference better than last years. Like how you did it in 2009.

And show lots of exclusive games!
(Please show ratchet and clank, gravity rush 2, and Level 5's PS4 game. Fingers crossed for a dark chronicle 2/dark cloud 3)

This is an incredible conference that most likely won't ever happen again :(. It was at a time where the PS3 needed to make a come back so Sony needed a conference to throw everything at the wall and than some.

Adorable.

You'll eat your call of duty and you'll like it!

There is some Destiny, Batman, and Star Wars there. But I see no Call of Duty or Assassin's Creed, chances are Microsoft still have those.

Only 3 in Canada is super disappointing. 150% increase including every State but Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal(guessing as those were last year's cities) is all you can do in Canada?

No valid reason for that.

They need to throw everything at the wall this year. When the media and forums are asking where the games are, they need to respond.

Great. I actually got to meet some local GAF members last year that I didn't even know lived in my area (Virginia Beach, VA) and it with a packed theater, the hype was very palpable. I will most definitely do it again. Does anyone know if we will have the spreadsheet again like last year to see who is going to which theater?

This E3 is like the pivotal turning point for Microsoft and Sony.
I honestly think Sony should learned by now and show a lot of games coming to PlayStation exclusively.

Sony is leading sales here in NA by a small margin and has a deck of cards to play. Don't you think they'll at least play several cards that has a huge impact?

Or is Sony gonna be that anime character that starts off with the most odd and wierdest tactical move? If so, then I hope Microsoft takes them down this E3, take over NA, and puts Sony on the edge of their seat.

.........

What the hell did I just write?

I was at the Columbus show too (remember the fight that happened during Powers? Haha) and I had a five hour round trip from Toledo but I was able to get a couple days off work and visit some friends while I was down there which made it the highlight of a little mini vacation.

The only problem is I don't have anyone down there that would want to sit around and watch the rest of the conferences that morning instead of, sigh, actually doing stuff.

Yeah, I remember that. Last year I came up with a friend from Cinci to see it and we grabbed some Raising Cane's prior to the event. While we both had a blast, it just comes down to the time of going.

And holy shit dude. That's quite the trip for you to come down from Toledo. Hopefully for the both of us it'll end up being closer to our respective homes.

Thanks for the suggestions. Already subbed!
