PlayStation Earbuds and Project Q Announced Announced - 8 inch screen remote device

The buds look nice. Hopefully priced low enough to differentiate them from the XMs.

Project Q looks like one of those shitty fan-made renders. 'We've got a Switch at home' jank. At least Logitech know how to do a streaming only handheld.

Because we don't have other screens laying around in the house, right?!
PS Backbone™ controller.... zzzz

More options.. who's complaining?

Need a PS5, need a good internet connection because it's remote play. Chasing the Switch's success without realizing what makes the Switch desirable. This remote play device will probably be $200. Curious how much the ear buds will be, probably $150 I think.
The PS5 pulse 3D headset is $99. Why would the earbuds be $150?

That's the design they went with huh? A tablet that looks like it's in a controller grip...but then you have some sleek earbud design and case right next to it...man....

Which begs the question, couldn't they have just sold us a grip and launched an app for streaming on android and IOS, or is the dedicated hardware in this that good?

I look forward to the Digital Foundry video, and that screen doesn't look like an OLED...
They already have this officially licensed product (which looks infinitely sleeker than this tablet)

Sounds awesome, as long as the price is right. I could definitely use this as I can play while the SO is watching her shows on the TV.

I've tried remote playing to tablet/phone, but it's just not a good experience because of controls.
You're either using touch buttons, or you have to have a dedicated controller synced up to your device, which is another thing to manage.

Not necessary at all.

Complete waste of time and resources.

These punks are all trying to condition gamers into being used to streaming.
Exactly this!

Anything to take away our rights to ownership so they can make even more money, greedy snakes!

Sadly, we have too many sheep waiting in line ready to be buchered.

But their remote plays sucks ass. I've tried it on Backbone and versus Xbox or even Xcloud it has a long way to go.

Unless the analogue sticks are swappable they can fuck off, already fed up of throwing money down the drain buying a new Dualsense every six months.

For what? You don't have other portable screens in your home?

I like to play jrpg's with remote play (like the recent FF collection) but I usually have to connect a controller to it and can get uncomfortable. I only play games in the house so this would be suitable for me when the little one is watching the TV.

The earbuds will be mine, I don't like headsets because they are too heavy and my ears become hot :messenger_grinning_sweat: so to enjoy 3D audio these will be perfect.

No oled? I guess that was the lcd console thing.
Is there anywhere to find the specs. Curious of oled vs lcd and other specs. It it's truly a device mean to stream too, it should be relatively lite and have room for a good size battery/screen

He said anywhere in your home, he said nothing about it working outside of your home
I think he just said it as a selling point to a demographic without going into specifics but there is no reason why it wouldn't work outside the home. That would make it less useful than the remote play app that's on phones already which can connect from anywhere.

PSP - PlayStation Poor

Has remote play improved with the PS5? Tried it today for fun with my PS4 to Laptop and it just sucked balls.

Instead of this I wish they did wireless/wired extender like how valvevdid for steam so I don't need to buy two ps5 a
Do you have a PS4 still? You can remote play PS5 from it. It's what I use from other rooms.

Exactly, I'm not sure who they are aiming this at when a phone and attachment is far more portable and versatile. Maybe the big screen and split controller has godly battery life? otherwise what's the point of this chunky frankenstein looking device?

PlayStation is doing too well and has too much money. They are starting to just make stuff to see if it sticks. I don't understand the need of this device when you have Android and iOS devices.
Apple makes it hard to do stuff like this on iPhones.

I have one for the the iPhone. The adaptive triggers and haptic feedback rock……..not.

This was such a weird thing to just throw in to the showcase..

"Oh btw before Spider-Man here's this weird thing we're making and also earbuds, more later K thnx bye"

$/€/¥ obviously

Sorry to be a smart Alec. It's a high margin accessory device that they think the hardcore will buy.

I'm sure the experience on that device will be better but would it be worth whatever the asking price is?

Clearly, but to sell a device it needs to offer something useful at a competitive price. The Backbone is probably a fraction of the price, a Dualsense clip for your phone probably even cheaper. I don't see who this appeals to to be honest.

No, I dropped my pro after the ps5 launch. I didn't know that either.

That controller better be cheap. If it's not priced right the shit will be dead on arrival. Also can't you do remote play on a steam deck anyway?

What's a fair price for this Project Q thing? $199? I feel like that is still a lot but how cheap can they possibly go?
Well, I'm thinking 99 at most for me, if it really works welI and I wanted it at all. 199 is the same price as a series s when on sale (I think).
