Do you mean that's what Sony is doing going into this Meeting or just the general direction they've been heading in the last few years?
She likely means the general direction they're heading in. Which is to have contingency plans, strengthen relationships with certain third party developers, and be aggressive in being there early, and being there strong.

Sounds good to me. Bring me back the tenacious Sony of the PS2 era and I'm there Day 1.

Hmm... both.
Judging from their internal behavior lately, especially in EU R&D, this seems very much correct. Of course there's still a lot of encumbering nonsense material for them to remove to be able to fully utilize their newly rediscovered direction. But it's seems most of the parties have a rather stable operation right now, so it should be good.

I don't have any insider information, I'm just basing this on some events I have seen when looking for information.

I really hope the hype train actually delivers lol.

Oh, I would like to be a believer too. Please, someone Kazzify my avatar. U___U

Can someone make a spoiler-free thread linking to the live stream for people like me who can't watch it live? The same thing was done for E3 which I really appreciated. I would love to watch the conference without any idea whats about to happen, when I come home from work.

Word is, that's exactly what's happened.

This is very interesting, if it proves true.

Do you know if we can expect any big third party announcements next week at the event? Obviously any info you have is not to be discussed, but a simple yes or no would be appreciated.

Noticed tonight in the Celtic Vs Juventus Champions League match that Sony game are no longer specifically promoting PS3 and that their advertising now just reads 'Playstation'

Fantastic news! Sony was really rolling back then because they didn't underestimate anyone. People joke about Sega and the DC now, but Sony took them very seriously. That's why they announced the console a year before it was even going to launch. And there were reports that they even rushed the launch to make sure that Sega couldn't gain any momentum against them.

You think Sony will intentionally do hardware shortages again to increase demand?

Was that ever confirmed? I know that it was a theory that many kicked around. But they always said that it was due to a lack of components. And there were reports that both their investors and third party developers were concerned about it. The third party devs were concerned because their games got off to a slow start due to the lack of hardware availability.

I'm surprised the announcement is just about a week away and we have no details regarding where it's being held and how it's being covered.

Agreed,sounds great.

I just hope we see more RPGs this time.

Along with the rumoured first party showcase i'm really hoping to see Watch Dogs again. Something from Kojima and Square would be fantastic too.

8 days to go, haven't been this hyped for a gaming event in years!
