A Persona 5 announcement for PS4... now that would be something.

Street Fighter Alpha 4 too. Capcom's been pretty buddy buddy with Sony lately.

I wouldn't be surprised if Atlus drop the bomb announcing P5 for Vita exclusive (assuming Sony go all out and give Atlus crazy incentives, like they don't have to pay license loyalty)

2005 E3 was 18 months before release this time the turnaround is much quicker between annoucement and launch so games will be much more showable i feel.

Much more important is that with PS3 developers only had dev kits for a couple of months before E3 2005. Most of Sony's own studios were also still fully working on PS2 games.

This time Sony have had dev kits in developers hands since mid 2011 and a lot of their own studios have doubled in size in the last few years.

The amount of games they could have at launch/launch window could be amazing.

How many do you truly expect though? Even though there are many IPs being worked on, it doesn't necessarily mean there'll be 6 games within the first 6 months or something from Sony themselves. Bear in mind, they are working in cycles now. You can't release too much, too soon. It has a resulting effect for the future, and it's not great for business.

But yes, I would expect a very strong first year for games.

I'm hoping they see what happened to Nintendo w/ 3DS and WiiU

There was a rumor they were only going to show four games, but after rewatching the 2005 conference, that just can't be right. I imagine we will get a montage of a bunch of crap.

4 games? Even Vita did better than that :D
And this will be bigger than the E3 2005 conference, just look at the venue as a hint. This is certainly not an event to tease people on message boards.

I don't think they're going to leave Orbis without games for months and months on end. Just that they're not the only ones who will be releasing games for the system, big games that is, so they don't necessarily need to release everything and anything under the sun. This will be a very strong first year for Sony in terms of games, I'm sure.

For seems high for PS Meeting. E3 will be full of games.

No, four would be low. They won't go crazy showing off a whole bunch of games in detail, as you say, that's what E3 is for. They will however (I'm assuming) show quite a few trailers / montage clips full of brief work in progress games from various studios. So was the case for both the PS3 and Vita reveal.

Keep in mind, we're only 9 months from launch most likely, at most. Third parties especially will want to start pimping their software for next gen systems. As soon as Sony announce the existence of PS4 people like EA and UBI can get to work doing just that.

I think GDC will be the first major blowout, as MS will likely have shown it's hand by then too.

Shuhei Yoshida (president of Sony Worldwide Studios) hypes up the announcement.

If you want real information on whats going down on Wednesday I can definetly vouch for Wall Street Journal. In my experience they have been something like 99.9999% reliable with their leaks and not just in video games but other things like theme parks, movies, apple products, etc. It's pretty well known that the companies themselves intentionally leak to WSJ as an early way of signaling/informing investors ahead of schedule.

I'm expecting them to unveil the system, talk a bit about what their vision is and maybe show 4-6 games. The full unveiling will still happen at e3 with tons of game montages and detailed information will be at e3. Think of this as a trailer for the main event.

I don't know honestly. But with very few of Sony's own devs working on PS3 now, would it be crazy to suggest one game from each of their studios in the first year?

So by November 2014 off the top of my head (assuming Nov 13' launch) we could have games by:

GG
SSM
ND
SP
PD
EVO

That's six already.....I'm sure I'm missing some. I'm just guessing/hoping though. Probably completely wrong.

Oh so both you and him utterly fail at reading comprehension, got it.

It's pretty much a running theme on GAF these days. There really should be an entrance exam that tests a user's ability to extract meaning from a sentence before they can become a member considering this is a forum based around text conversations.

So, then what do you mean by best start in the series?

might be old or fake but the rumored release of nvidias titan in the end of februari seems fitting

the first performance figure of NVIDIA's upcoming GeForce Titan 780 flagship single-GPU graphics card. Circulating among various Chinese tech publications is this 3DMark 11 Xtreme Preset screenshot from the PCinLife community, in which a lucky bloke claimed access to a GeForce Titan 780 engineering sample, and a driver to get it to work. In the scribbled out 3DMark 11 Xtreme Preset score screenshot (below), the source claims the fabled graphics card can singlehandedly score X7107 points. For reference, a GeForce GTX 690 usually scores in the region of X6000 points, and a GTX 680 around X3300. If true, NVIDIA has something truly remarkable up its sleeves, maybe the second coming of 8800 GTX. From older reports, we know that the GeForce Titan is expected to ship sooner than most people think, some time in February

big production runs and lowered production costs might make this chip or an alternative a viable option by late autumn

And how was I supposed to know this? He could have easily meant the game itself and just made a big typo.

There's no way in hell that the Titan will be in next gen consoles, if that's what you're saying. The card costs more than twice what both next gen consoles combined and uses as much power as both of them combined. It's enormous, expensive, hot, and is an nVidia card.

It was a discussion about popularity, if your not going to read the post I quoted there's no point just reading my post and commenting out of context.

Also the fact that my sentence had the word series in it, you really think I didn't know that the game with 3 at the end wasn't the first game? Seriously?

Prediction: high profile third party sequel will debut at this. Non-exclusive. This isn't from a source exactly, but conjecture based on impending announcements. I have a specific game in my head. Happy to disclose to a mod.

I know what you are thinking, Aegies. I know.

Destiny.
Boom.

Keyword: typo.

My mistake.
