Its a bit sad to see the top poster's post count not reach three digits. The monthly Vit... err PSN thread is lively and fast before, now it almost grinded to a halt. Congrats Team!

Guys can i ask a few (stupid vita questions) please

1. Im getting a 64gb card so will have a 16gb spare which im gonna use to get psp and psone classics not available in the uk store. Which would you recommend japan or usa? Games im looking at arent story based i.e. Strider 2 metal slug anthology

2. If i buy ffx/x2 from spain would i be able to download x2 to my eu vita or is th eu store region specific too?

1. I dont know which store is better, but you Can only have one active account per System. You have to reset your vita every time you change your card.

2. Afaik every store has it own codes, but I am not Sure about it.

Correct me if I am wrong.

To answer your first question, JP PSN has a great range of PSP, PSX and PC Engine games. The PC Engine games aren't that big so you could turn your other Vita into a classic arcade-style game machine.

The real worst boss ever in Freedom Wars is that fucking crafting system.

At least we've getting tons os threads
(and graveyards)
for Vita games now, so that's something. Still sad though.

Still taking my time with TitS SC, probably halfway through by now and already at ~40 hours. Best game of the year. Probably. Also need to finish off Tales Of Zestiria some time, although by now it seems likely that I'll just drop that mediocre game.

And then I'm off to WiiU-land for several months with Xenoblade Chronicles X.

Atleast they can't say that the vita has no games now.

I've only played Freedom Wars and SSX so I can only comment on that.
Freedom Wars seems cool before, I got irked by the many violations I've made on the first hours. But it looks fun, the attack on titan weapon feels great to use but some things bog down the gameplay.

SSX meanwhile isnt a back to the old ssx games but it is a fun game on its own. SSX is a nice game to play just for fun, to see the wacky, out of this world type of sport that wouldn't fly in the real world.

Personally I'm waiting for 1TB PS4 + game for <300€ and I'm pretty sure it's getting there soon.
Yeah did not think about the hd. I have 1tb on ps3 and it's almost full, I'm afraid I won't last long with 500gb on a ps4 so in the long run I'll have to spend 50€ more regardless

What is so bad about it?

First of all, I must say that it's more of an endgame thing, but there's too much RNG involved if you want some optimal weapons (which you do not depend to clear the main story - might have a hard time doing it with AI instead of other people though):

- create the weapon you want. You want it to be at least of Rarity 6 (it goes from 1 to 8 and is random);
- check the growth rate for it. It's random. You'd want it to be 1;
- check if it's an late bloomer (late bloomer weapons have bigger % to stat increase at higher levels, resulting in better stats than an early bloomer later on). Random;
- the attributes if comes with are random too, but they can be removed if needed.

So, a bunch of RNG things after, you have your pretty weapon. Now it's time to get some nice attributes (buffs) on it. You can "feed" a weapon with another one. The attributes from the fodder will carry on, but:

- it's not guaranteed that all the attributes from the fodder will carry over;
- it's not guaranteed that the attributes from the original weapon will be maintained;
- the resulting weapon can get some new attributes, some of which are bad.

Now, you can have some kind of control here - there's a fixed amount of maintained, inherited and new attributes depending on the rarity of the weapon, so you can have a fodder only with good ones to be inherited. There's also some items you can use during fusion to shield the attributes of the original weapon from being replaced/removed. Finally, you are able to remove bad attributes for a price in EP.

"Well, but I can save scum if I get a bad roll, right?"

Kinda. Freedom Wars has no save slots, saves immedialy when you begin crafting something, and saves again right after the crafting is done (it takes some minutes, but can be sped up with specialists), so you can't just close the game and load it back - you need to upload you save to PS+ (or PC/PS3) before you start crafting, and if you don't like the results you quit the game, roll back your save, and do it again.

So it's just overly complicated. In other "hunting games" you just need to farm materials and craft shit, but here there's just so many little details to go to get a good endgame weapon (not even talking about god tier stuff) that it breaks the flow and tires you out.

But even than, I love this game so much. If you guys need help doing missions and we can manage to even timezones differences, I'm in.

My new Super Slim 4303 PS3 arrived today, keep trying to sync my Trophies for the first time and it keeps failing because I have so many :p

Just waiting on my 120GB SSD to arrive and it's gonna be an awesome system :D

So I'm playing CG2.

And I officially declare that Nippon Ichi is the fucking worst at RPG balancing.

The best thing about CG (Invitation) is its awesome balance despite what may read an annoying gameplay (
I played this twice - PSP ver and Invitation so I stand by my opinion. Held it since vanilla game, and still do after Invitation.
). And Nippon Ichi went over that and fucked things over in the sequel.

Do the developers there even play RPGs anymore? I mean, I hope their only solution to "the boss is too hard" is to get another 186000 more levels.

ImageEpoch was far, faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar superior than Nippon Ichi for this particular case.

At this point, I'm actually VERY curious as how to ImageEpoch programmed the algorithm for entire proposal thing. It is quite reliable compared to retardedness that is happening in Nippon Ichi's CG2.

Tried googling and didn't find a answer, but on PS4 can I use headphones on DVD and blurays through the headphone jack on the controller instead of having sound being played on the tv like games? I would think so, but I remember that dvds/blurays disable the home menu and stuff so it may disable headphones.

Need to know if I should hook up my PS4 before we move to download the movie update since i never did. Its taking everything to move (we have to) and I won't have internet for December. So if I can watch some movies or tv shows with headphones that would be cool.

You should definitely get Kiwami first. Ragnarok Odyssey isn't a good game at all.

I think I've played every hunting game that has been localized,

Thats too bad, I enjoyed the demo of RO Ace. I haven't tried the Kiwami demo yet since the file size is so large and I don't want to take something off for a demo.

That being said I do have MHFU and God Eater (PSP) as well so I think the only hunting games I haven't tried for the system are those two.

In case anyone is wondering, the PS+ games for the month for both EU and NA regions are live.

Rocketbirds and Freedom Wars are great games for those who don't own them already for Vita owners and the two PS3 games (Far Cry Blood Dragon and SSX) are high quality.

The PS4 got two games; Ep. I of Kings Quest and a Gauntlet game. The former got high reviews and lasts about the length of two Telltale episodes while the latter I'm not sure, heard little about the game.

Overall decent month and hopefully we get a surprise or two like we did last December (as last PSX gave us PvZ:GW, Mirrors Edge and NFS:Most Wanted Vita for free :D).

Yeah I'm waiting for PSX just for the hope free games lol

I'm cheap I know :V

Its not being cheap; its always nice getting free games man :D!

Hoping we get an extra free game or two from Activision this time instead of EA; could even work like this:
-PS4: Legend of Korra
-PS3: One of the older Call of Duty's (Black Ops II or Advanced Warfare likely)
-PS Vita: Angry Birds (any or them) or Amazing Spiderman (bad port or not, its one of the few 'big' games they released on the console).

With the way the CAD is doing these days vs USD, 30% off deals are critical for us Canadians. Added a bunch of Vita goodness to my pre-orders, and just take in how much I saved:

wizardy lost souls? i have that on ps3 digitally.... though i guess the chances of crossbuy are slim

, I got irked by the many violations I've made on the first hours.

Eh, the violations never bothered me. like most games i figured the early values become meaningless late game... so a couple hundred/thousand years or whatever would be a single extra late game mission later.

that said, i left the game after a few weeks near launch and tried to come back to it this year and was utterly lost.

i enjoyed the demo too and bought it last sale. i still enjoy it, other than the DLC issue i mentioned a bit ago really harming my experience. people have their likes and dislikes with hunting games, but i'm pretty casually into the genre. Also enjoyed the toukiden demo but haven't gotten that yet.

What games did you get?

Stuff that I hadn't had the chance to pre-order during the E3 30% season. I ended up adding one more item afterwards, and the whole transaction totalled at $318.56 (versus a whooping $463.14 with taxes). Games were:

Vita
- Stranger of Sword City
- World of Final Fantasy
- Odin Sphere Leifthrasir
- Trillion: God of Destruction
- Trails of Cold Steel
- Zero Time Dilemma

3DS
- Fire Emblem Fates: Conquest
- Final Fantasy Explorers

Basically I got all my PS4 preorders in during E3, and all my handheld ones now.

Not a bad line up of games man :). A lot of great JRPG's of all kinds across two systems and they seem to all be very high quality :D.

Yes, and fact of the matter is that these are all Winter/Spring games. 2016 is going to be nuts. I put all of these preordered, but I wouldn't be surprised if I had to cancel one or two just because of how close they all are in release date. Still, I want to at least keep my low price on my games. I'm basically paying 39.95 for all of these, something that is impossible with new games now in Canada since our dollar tanked.

Don't understand a lot about pricing systems in other places but at least you was able to get all of those games/place that order with a lower price then you would pay for normally Names :).

I hope you enjoy all of those games when they come out :D! 2016 really is going to be a great year for 3DS, PS4 and Vita owners :).

Does Amazon ship them separately or when all games are released?

Amazon (at least in the US) always ships things as soon as they are available, I've mass pre-ordered several times before. Also if there randomly is a lower price between pre-order date and release date they generally change to that price, though I've never saved more than $1-2 this way. I assume it is the same with Amazon everywhere.

Another Amazon aside, but I learned yesterday they will retroactively price match if the price of something drops. Bought an anniversary DS4 5 days ago, then it went on sale for Cyber Monday. 10 minute chat later and they had refunded me the difference.

Basically with taxes a PS4 game in Canada is now $90CAD, and handhelds around $50-60 which if you convert to American isn't so bad. But then you realize that games have gone up in price by $30 in 2-3 months for us, and that's without the costs of living or our pay having changed. It's the same as if in America all of a sudden you had to pay $20-30 more for your games.

Does Amazon ship them separately or when all games are released?

Yup, and since I'm Prime I get them on release day (most of the time if Canada Post doesn't fuck up) for free with tracking and all. Also you only get charged when the item is shipped.

Amazon changed their date as well for Cold Steel, it is now the 22nd along with Gamestop/EB. Would expect Bestbuy to drag their feet with the date change, but it definitely looks like the final date is either the 22nd or not this year.

Man, that bites :(.

Hopefully the pricing systems get resolved soon then. I would just stop playing games for a while/play through my backlog if that happened in my case.

Glad you got that deal; made something very expensive more manageable.

Can't see it getting any better, at least not anytime soon. As long as our dollar is the way it is, retailers will be bumping up their prices.

Vita TV is weird. Put in my Vita's memory card and a bunch of compatible games don't show up, including every PSOne classic. But when I download them on the Vita TV, they show up on the Vita. Eh, whatever not a big deal. Basically the best part of Vita TV is that it can actually connect to my school's internet for whatever reason, so I can actually download (compatible) games without taking a trip to my parents house hah.

Haven't played my Vita in a while because of school/getting re-addicted to WoW, but thankfully WoW's utter lack of content has freed me and it is time to start tackling the Vita backlog. Decided to start with Neptunia Rebirth 1 (I know, funny choice after getting a Vita TV), and I am really enjoying it after looking up a game systems and combat guide.

Damn, freedom wars is awesome. Downloaded it earlier and ended up playing it all evening. Really interesting world, and I like how the design of the combat, the exploration and the story all flow into each other, there's a real logic to the game that is super appealing and immersive. Struggled a little on my first mission against other sinners, I was trying to direct my AI companion to help me grab civilians, but it felt like my whole team of 3 were just windmilling around, maybe I missed some there. Got it eventually. Really pleased with that though, especially after Invizimals last month :( no idea why they didn't put up one of the vita installments there.

Bigfest tomorrow, pretty psyched for that. Nervous how they're putting it out with no fanfare, but kiiind of feeling good that they feel they can sell it oppose to f2p. We'll see. It seems like a great game type for vita. I'd love to see a resurge of Sony developed game son the machine, they've put out some great stuff over the last few years. Would love if the next ninty handheld is basically the same power wise, and vita gets a second life with third party that way. Maybe see some Sony games then.

I agree with both of those opinions. Freedom Wars had so much crap to get to the action. SSX is not bad but it is boring and souless compared to its predecessors.

Really glad you liked it. It is one of my favorite titles on the Vita. I think it is a game that gets better as you play.

Lol, but yeah i also dislike the thought of paying full price for iso dumps. Though i have done it on occasion for certain games.

It's weird, PSOne classics and Virtual Console games are some of the few things I am willing to pay full price for. Maybe cheap price combined with the fact that I know if I will like it generally since I already played it before.

Though I definitely love a good sale for picking up things I forgot even existed as PSOne classics, like the under a dollar sale or this Disney sale!
