VitaGAF! For the past few months I have been completely addicted to Spelunky on my vita, and realized that that game is exactly the experience I am currently looking for on the system, a game I can pick up and jump right into for 15 minutes or so (or more if I actually have a good run) without having to worry about picking up a save or wondering where I left off or what I did last. Similar to Binding of Isaac which I was also addicted to, and cannot wait for Rebirth on vita. I was wondering if anyone had recommendations for similar games on vita, heavily pick up and play, with sessions of 15-30 minutes, and not much worrying about keeping a story or narrative together. I don't have any games I would really describe this way, so safe to assume whatever fits the bill I don't already have.

Not to say I don't like the longer games, but a quick pick up like Spelunky has been great for the end of school to give me a bit of time off between studying, so anything similar would be awesome.

Mmm....some games that helped fly by time during my time in college was Fez and I could see Runner 2 , Luftrausers and SteamWorld Dig fill your bill quite nicely :). Fez is by definition a 'chill' game; you can explore the world at your own pace, collect everything in your own order and soak in the games beautiful world. With Runner 2, between its large amount of stages and levels that make you scream 'just one more run!', its a game every Vita owner should own.

Luftrausers is a newer indie game that is more or less an old school arcade game; you fly around in the sky and have to survive other planes, battleships and even blimps until you die. The game's easy of play alongside the many ways you can argument your plane give the game endless replay value.

SteamWorld Dig fits your description the best I think :). The game is simple; you dig in three unique mines with a pick axe, a drill, and a robotic fist. That sounds boring and repetitive...but you won't be saying that after 2 hours pass by and see that you have 1000$ in treasure! The game is just so fun to play, and even though it is a bit short, the game is a great time on Vita :).

Hope these recommendations help you out man :).

Using the first post from the inFamous:SS Screenshot Contest thread as my Black Vita lockscreen, looks awesome!

and that tempered glass screen protector is just awesome to touch and play on!

Played the first two episodes of the new The Walking Dead season and they have been a blast. So excited to see what's happening next and I hope the next Vita episode will release in time with the other versions now that they all are at the same point.
The presentation is just top notch, love the ending songs. Wasn't sure about the season when some of the leads left Telltale but everything is fine.

From a technical perspective, the save stutter seems to be shorter but is still very noticeable. There are also some framedrops in the action scenes which cost me my life, that didn't happen in season 1 as far as I can remember :/

Despite those deaths (two scenes failed at first try), I would say the port is better. Game looks nice on the Vita. Unfortunately, the auto dimming still gets in the way sometimes if you aren't careful. I also think the way the digital savegames are imported feels unintuitive. The savegame import in the Live Area is just for the retail version. The digital versions save will be imported when you start a new game.

Hope The Wolf Among Us also gets released soon, need more of that Telltale stuff on my Vita :)

stupid question, gonna make a EU psn account to reap in their ps+ and other deals

games don't get censored in spain right? (using spain since I have family there and I'll be using their address)

We get nearly the same as UK or France, just in Euros instead of Pounds and Spanish instead of English/French.

Any chance you could link to or recommend a glass screen protector for the Vita? I've tried looking online and haven't had much luck.

Looks like my Starlight Inception demo download also turned out to be the full game because I earned a trophy. Thanks EU store team.

With the first tutorial level already being so long with waves after waves of enemies, I am not surprised they have a 40 hours campaign.
It's not as bad as I expected from the beta impressions but still mediocre. The graphics are ugly but the flying was ok. The dogfights were quite boring though. The weapons lack feedback so the shooting isn't enjoyable. Don't want to judge the AI based on the first tutorial level but their only tactic was trying to crash right into me.
Wasn't a fan of the artdesign since the Kickstarter and the story/presentation tries to hard so far.

Thanks for all the impressions guys, you saved me €17.

oh I didn't buy a specific protector for the Vita - I bought the Tempered Glass screen protector for the HTC One M7 - it fits the 5inch screen just nice

That's good enough for me! I've just never actually gotten a glass protector before. The Vita is the first device I've owned which is nice enough to warrant one. :P

Ok just ordered one from Amazon, how was it to apply? I assume I don't need to worry about air bubbles? Any pointers?

Dead Nation Road to devastation on Vita is it worthy of its 3.99?

Im about to buy it , please help!

It's not like the regular campaign (even though it does have a story).
Basically, it includes a stage where you are given three paths, which each result in various weapon, armor, health, multiplier, or item upgrades. This repeats until you complete the stage or die.

The DLC includes several modes, like Arcade and Endless, that present a variation on this stage and can be done co-op. It's harder than the regular campaign since IIRC you have no checkpoints or continues.

I'd say it's probably worth $4.00 only if you loved Dead Nation.

nah, wouldn't think so. I don't think there's any differences between countries in EU, though I'm not dead certain.

And Spain is not a particularly prude country.

The demo of Sen no Kiseki ( 閃の軌跡 ) is released on PS3 et PS VITA.

You have just to create a Japanese account. Check the methods on youtube , it is not complicated.

I actually got the shop owner to help me apply. but it seems easier to apply than the normal one.

I got a glass screen protector on my phone. Amazing stuff. So much smoother to use the touchscreen and great clarity. I'll think about getting one for the vita, but the fact that it only protects the screen and not the full front surface puts me off.

Random question about P4G. Were the anime cutscenes cropped to be 16:9 on Vita or were they letterboxed in the original PS2 version to be 16:9

Yup believe it come out the same time as Oreshika demo yesterday. Was expecting a Sen II demo actually.
Sen 2 is still too far off for a demo. Releasing this now is probably to get more people interested in the budget rerelease of Sen coming out in June since save data is transferable to the full game.

Putty Squad just came out for Vita and it's cross-buy for the PS4 version too!

Except, only if you buy it now for £19.99 instead of the £24.99 I paid for it. That's slightly annoying.

Check out No Heroes Allowed: No Puzzles Either. It's free (but if you like it, you might want to buy the $10 mega box dlc to have unlimited "lives" and stuff).

It'll be a sale/plus game at some point I reckon. I just loved the Amiga one so much I bought it during the launch week.

Might email support and say I have the game and it's cross-buy, but the Vita one won't download and see what they say.

My 64gb card has arrived! I have finally joined the 64gb master race. Now for the content transfer. This is gonna take ages aint it?

mine didn't. Couple of hours to backup, couple more to restore (I backed up in advance to save time, can download saves from the cloud anyway)

edit: This was over USB to a mac - backing up to a PS3 might be slower, and wifi will be slow.

I'd doing it over USB to PS3. It says just over an hour to go right now, but that's just for the Vita stuff. Then I've got PSP, PS1 and PSMobile to do. Shouldn't be too bad I guess.

You know what the worst part about this is? The fact that I can't play on the Vita to pass the time.

By the way does anyone know if the transfer will stop when the system goes in to sleep mode? Right now I'm paranoid about that.

Flying Hamster II Kickstarter Cancelled
Backers to get free Steam Key if they do certain tasks (check your emails)

They found a publisher FDG Games
hope we still get a Vita version

I lose hours at a time to this game. :'(

Yeah, gotta have some self control to play it only for 15 minutes :P

Well, at least its coming! That kickstarter would not meet the goal anyway, which is just depressing.

Ordered Persona 4 Golden from a UK store for just 17 GBP, which I consider a steal, giving the fact that the game is around 40 GBP everywhere else in EU (unlike the constant sales the game have in US, we are stucked with full price since forever...). I was even more surprised to see that it took only 4 working days to get it delivered from UK to Bulgaria. Surely, I did not expected that. :) Usually it takes around 10-15 days for delivery.
As a great fan of both Persona 3 and Persona 4 I just can't wait to go back home and fire the game on dat OLED!

On a side note, Soul Sacrifice Delta was announced for mid May as a digital only title, as far as I know, but is there a price tag yet or it is TBA?

Woke up too early this morning so I queued up FFXIV Duty Finder on my Vita while I had my morning coffee in bed with my girl and my pooch.

Vita is life.

Hasn't been announced yet, but there's a good chance that it'll be $30 or less judging by its Japanese price.

Ah, well then my apologies, sadly I have no experience with the 2k models :( One day, I'd like to get one. Aside from something in the settings...I'm at a loss....

2kVitaGaf, assemble!
Btw, the Vita slim has also a blue led for the notifications, I completely forgot about its existence until now, lol. The green led is just an on/off led.

I only just noticed the new Blazblue was up on the AUS store, and good lord at that amount of day-one DLC!
I take it there's not going to be a physical release this time.

Some mor ideas....

Thomas was alone is level based. Has a narrative but easy to ignore and wikipedia later.

Hot shots golf is a perfect pick up and play non-indie game

You could look into lumines too.

Havent played but maybe sonic racing tansformed.

You could try Hotline Miami (currently free on PS+ in EU), Velocity Ultra, Super Stardust Delta, Sound Shapes. MotorStorm RC, SteamWorld Dig.

Also WipeOut 2084 and Rayman Origins/Legends.

Rogue Legacy, Galak-Z and PixelJunk Shooter might fit the bill when they're released later this year, along with Hotline Miami 2 and Velocity 2X, and Isaac Rebirth of course.

Second episode is due soon isn't it?

Actually the devs said they have an unannounced vita game in the works, so it could be

I agree about most of them. And I still have to buy Rayman Legends and SShapes

My Vita and PSN web store shows Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate for $20.

I am a plus member. The game should cost $12.59 for Plus users and $13.99 for regular ones. The prices are according to PS Blog.

Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate is part of this week Batman sales.

WTF is happening with PSN these last couple of days?!?

I can't believe how much I'm playing Vita over PS4, it just amazes me.

It's so small, convenient, doesn't take up your TV, and the screen is so freak'n clear. I'm not sure why this system has had bad rap pre-PS4's existence, I have a back-log of Plus games to play, and P4G is eating up so much of my time.

Whenever I'm not gaming, I watch Hulu Plus or Netflix and the video really stands out, much more so than watching videos on WiiU's device.

Welcome to the cult. :)

Are all those PSP/PS1 games that became compatible for NA vita earlier this week now unavailable again? I can't check because I'm at work and my friend just texted me. That's fucking awful!
