Trailer

Behind You is a recent PlayStation Mobile release from Pon Pon Games, the developers behind PSM's Galatea and a catgirl runner with a severely long title. I like to call their latest creation a sneak'em up. You play as a girl looking for her kidnapped family members. Your objective is to sneak through top-down multi-room levels without getting detected by guards or security cameras. Doing this requires you to stay in the shadows to hack and fight your way to the end.

You can take down the guards with your hands or a gun (displayed in first-person). The enemies don't die. They just faint. To not raise the suspicions of other nearby guards, you can place the unconscious bodies on chairs. The NPCs will walk by them, say something like, "Resting on the job? I wish I could do that" and not detect a thing. There's also distractions like a meowing cat recording, though I haven't figured out how to use that yet.

My major gripe with the game is that enemies and cameras reset once you exit a room. There seems to be a lot of backtracking as you get keys to previously locked doors, which means you have to scurry by all the cameras and guards once again. I also have a concern about the length. I suck at this game, but I noticed the main menu only lists four "Acts". Each "Act" shouldn't take more than 10-20 minutes.

With that said, the game is only $3.49. It has a very nice low-poly look to it and I'm enjoying the experience. There isn't much of a story, so it might be a good stealth game for someone not looking to scroll through loads of text.
Wow, it looks really good.

I bought Behind You but i played only the first two levels, it's challenging and good, but as Takao already said there are only 4 short levels with backtraking and when you fail you restart at the beginning of the level.

Anyway another good and challenging PSM game is Console Saga, a platformer that can be very hard(but fair, not hard because broken and badly designed like Life of a Pixel) if you don't play it well, it has a good number of levels and a random level generator.

So I just bought SSD. Never liked the aesthetics of the series but I've heard the games are great and this page was the tipping point I guess.
Don't know when I'll play it though because I already have a bunch of games to play. And the fact that my few Vita-owning friends never play on their doesn't help either.

I picked it up again yesterday and played for about 5-6 hours since then, mostly online. It's got a great community and I managed to get full rooms by hosting within seconds.

The game's visual style is quite varied and I implore you to give it a chance, fantastic game.

Is Crimsonland going to get cross-saves at some point? There is just no excuse..

Anyone got more PSM game impressions? There seem to be a few gems of late since the latest update.

Has anyone tried Rodem The Wild?

Tokyo Jungle Mobile is kind of neat, but it just hurts my soul knowing the core game could work perfectly on Vita.

Random Wish

Remember The Last Guy for PS3? Another perfect fit for Vita that has been ignored.. I loved this game on PS3!

So, I'm going to start doing a monthly giveaway in this thread. First one will be on Sept 1st. I'll basically be giving someone a $50 PSN code. This isn't for promotion, it's 100% coming out of my pocket. Just a fan/gaffer that is in a good place financially and wants to give back to this community. I've had some ideas how to do this. But this is what I have so far:

* It will be a "guess what number I'm thinking" of question. That way this is a random chance to win. Only one guess per person. The person closest to the number wins, if two people are equally close (or pick the same winning number) then I'll do another number and re-ask those people to re-pick.

* Only one post for this contest will be done in this thread (the post announcing the contest and the details of how to apply). Any replies/guesses are to be done via PMing me. Anyone that posts in the thread will be DQd. The reason for this is so the contest doesn't de-rail the thread. I do not want the thread getting flooded with people focusing on it.

* No private information will be shared. I won't need your email, name or anything. I'll just directly send you the $50 serial code via PM that you can enter via your Vita/PS4/PS3 or on Playstations site. Again, this isn't promotion. It's just a fan giving away something, nothing more nothing less.

* Not entirely sure how to buy PSN codes for other regions, so if anyone knows of a site that allows me to legally buy a digital serial code for a region outside of North America, then I would be willing to open this up to everyone. But for now, it's only for those in NA =/

That's pretty much it. I'm just throwing this out there early, to see what you guys think about it. Does it seems fair? Do you have any suggestions of how to improve it?

The story is actually really well told, give it a chance to suck you in. It uses the Vita in a cool way too, making you feel like you're holding a book. I didn't originally like it a lot from the demo, but the powers you get after the first chapter make the game a lot more fun to play.

I don't have Delta, just vanilla though. That already feels like a lot of game to me.

Any of you guys had any trouble with the Vita 2000 analog sticks :(? My right stick gets stuck in some direction quite a bit and I have to reboot the console. 99% of the time it's solved by a couple or three reboots, and in some games it gets automatically sorted out after a while (Like Uncharted) but with some games (like Killzone Mercenary) it's absolutely unbearable.

Whoa, I've never had that issue with my joystick/rebooting. That sounds bad. =/ Are you still under warranty? How long have you had it before it started doing this?

Delta fleshes it out by a lot, and gives it a nice visual overhaul. I think the resolution has been increased as well.

The game feels so packed with content, lore (and it is so fantastically localized..) and gameplay. Great online functionality and netcode as well. I have played about 25 hours and do not use in-depth character builds yet, and besides defeating the final 'story' boss (I think), I still have at least another 25 hours of content left.

This is the first time since The Last Odyssey that I actually found myself going back to the stories/lore and just reading those for entertainment.

Good for you, friend - I know there are several people who appreciate the chance to try and win.

The only suggestion I have is to potentially limit how many people can enter - you're going to be flooded with requests, so it might be helpful as you try to limit/narrow/collect the responses.

Entirely your call though - regardless, cheers.

Well that's really cool. I'm not in NA region but anyway really cool.

Just a FYI, but PSN money cards vary per NA country. A code for the US won't work in Canada and vice versa.

Wow, that's really generous of you. Have you considered doing a Modbot giveaway?

Have no idea what that is....

And yeah, I've always been kind of weary of doing this sort of thing, because I'm not sure how feasible it is. Maybe I should also make sure it's okay to do such a thing with an admin. Don't want to get in trouble. But yeah, I've always worried the PMing thing would be an issue (it's why I actually didn't want anyone posting in the thread about it, as I thought it would ruin the thread by de-railing it).

EDIT: Okay, just found this...

Yeah I know. I've bought a PSN Canada code before for a friend. I guess I should have clarified that in my post, as it sounded like I was lumping all of NA into one. I've actually made this mistake before though. Sucked.

Whoa, I've never had that issue with my joystick/rebooting. That sounds bad. =/ Are you still under warranty? How long have you had it before it started doing this?

Three/Four months. It's a white/lime ed. that a friend brought for me from Japan so going to the store is pretty much a no-no :( I've had rotten luck with my electronics lately, with my PS4 controller basically exploding by itself, my HTC One mic malfunctioning and my connection not being compatible with the Shield Tablet's gamestream (admitedly my fault) Now this. First world problems indeed!

I've already contacted Sony, let's hope they can do something.

Wow, that's really generous of you. Have you considered doing a Modbot giveaway?

Well, I guess he would control better how things go if he does the Giveaway himself (maybe he wants this giveaway to be a PSNGaf thing or whatever.

But Modbot isn't a bad choice either.

Mmmm. I don't know and it could be a bit tricky. I think different European countries use different PSN cards. So if, for example, I win, you'd have to look for an Spanish site and buy a 50€ card that matched my country. Same for France, Germany...

You're giving away PSN cash. I'd say offer 50US$ in your giveaway and call it a day. I would have zero problems creating a US account if I won it (I should have already created it though...)

I'll probably just go the ModBot route then. Didn't even know that existed, crazy. Still trying to figure out the formatting (for doing it like a raffle). Anyways, I have until Sept 1st to figure it out. Appreciate the feedback guys. I do think this solves my problem with PMs. And it does seems like the admin/staff allows this sort of thing (as modbot exists).

I'll post it on Sept 1st. If anyone has any other suggestions though, let me know (still not sure how to open this up to those outside of NA).

Yeah I kind of wanted to keep the contest limited to this specific thread. But I also know the reality of keeping anyone from entering is impossible, unless I manually looked through each PM and made sure they posted in here. Seems like too much work, and as someone else said, the amount of PMs I could get would be too much. Seems like ModBot is probably the most realistic way to go.

Although I do hope the winner is from this thread. =/

Definitely agree that modbot is the best way to handle any giveaways. Use the optional rules to make it work how you feel is the most fair way. No need to worry about getting dozens of PMs or flooding the thread with entries.

Well then, that solves that. Thanks again. I might PM you if I have trouble setting it up. I think I should be fine though. But on the off chance my brain fails me, I hope you don't mind me PMing you for some clarification. Would appreciate it.

For everyone else, I'll make the post on Sept 1st then using Modbot. I'll make sure to add rules like you have to have posted in this thread before, so that it will be limited to you guys. Cheers!

Of course I'll try it, I just need to make peace with some other Vita games first. This praise makes me even considering giving SSD higher priority on my games to play.
I thought the first game looked very brown and depressing, but I guess it's not all like that. The game icon and Livearea looks pretty nice and colorful though.
And I totally forgot that I could co-op with randoms. I rarely play games online without friends so I didn't even consider it, haha.
Thanks guys!

Thanks a lot. You've been a lot of help with other stuff too (such as recommendations and info etc.) Can't thank you enough.
Prople as generous and kind as you make this thread my favorite ( actually confirms it because it is my favorite thread already) I'm in NA I hope to get a chance !

I don't think you can get Asian codes without at least 10% markup.

You can go with Play-Asia or Nippon-Yasan for JPY PSN digital codes. I have bought both from P-A and N-Y and they're both very decent. P-A takes a picture of the code, while N-Y is only available Monday-Friday/8am-5pm and they type out the code (I've had trouble on this in the past, but it was resolved pretty well).

For the 50 USD price range (5000 JPY), there's not much difference between P-A and Nippon-Yasan (60 vs 58), so I guess P-A would be better if you don't want the hassle.

P-A also holds other Asian cards, though I don't know how much the markup is. For HK, it's about 10% IIRC.

My past purchases have been from N-Y (3x 10,000 JPY codes).

Just create a US account.

This is very generous of you Yukiko. And yeah, definitely go with modbot.

That's the one downside to modbot though. I believe you have to already input the serial code key to it. Whereas if I ran the contest myself, I could wait for the winner and then buy the key to fit their region. I just realized by using modbot, that cuts out those in Canada for instance.

And even if I did want to open this contest up to all regions, I would still need to find a legit site that legally sells digital serial codes for each specific region (as it seems super fragmented). This is always the downside to wanting to give away things. Ideally, I wish I could give EVERYONE free stuff. That's just not realistic. So it sucks when there is limitations. :(

I wouldn't mind paying the markup tbh. More so, it's just the trouble of finding a store for each region (that is legit). Seems like PSN stuff is pretty fragmented. And then there is the issue that I think Modbot requires you to give the serial code. I guess I could just put a dummy serial code in, and then when modbot tells me who the winner is, then I can just PM them and ask them what region they are in and then provide the real code then.

But then the challenge is still finding sites that provide the proper region code. If you guys think it's doable, and can link me to legit sites, I'll definitely do the extra work. I want everyone to have a fair chance.

Creating a US account takes a couple of minutes and is something a PS user will want to have anyway since you'll get better deals than in the EU PSN for example.
Just look at the current flash sale, great games for $9.99. That's 7.53 euros! You wont find those games for that price here.

Anyway, what you're doing is incredible. The steam thread also has a lot of incredibly generous members that have given away hundreds of dollars worth of steam games. It's really amazing.

I really think it's too much trouble to look for specific codes, especially when each country has it's own (it's not as if they were shared across SCEE/A/J+Asia territories.

Just go with 50$. You're already being really generous. If somebody from another region wants to participate it won't harm him to make an US account. I'm sure there are some PS2/PS1/PSP Classics that are exclusive to either store so he could get some nice stuff he wouldn't get otherwise.

Can you create a clause that says you can't spend the psn card on SSD?

So, I'm going to start doing a monthly giveaway in this thread. First one will be on Sept 1st. I'll basically be giving someone a $50 PSN code. This isn't for promotion, it's 100% coming out of my pocket. Just a fan/gaffer that is in a good place financially and wants to give back to this community. I've had some ideas how to do this. Wow, that's so nice of you. Good luck!

Hmm I'll think about it guys. For now, I'm pretty sure I'll go with ModBot w/ a limited region. But I have till Sept 1st to figure it out, and look into how feasible it would be. I appreciate the feedback. Either way, I'll make a post on Sept 1st about it.

Thanks again.

Could it be better if it were 5 $10 PSN cards? More people would win, even if it's just enough for a cheaper game.

Well that's interesting. Would you guys rather have 5x$10 (so 5 winners at $10), 3x20 (so 3 winners at $20), or 1x50 (so 1 winner at $50). I'm not opposed to making the prize smaller but more winners. I guess it's just preference for what this threads wants.

This could be my oportunity to have either sad or an atelier series game. I have vanilla ss.

I'll make you a deal, I won't participate, and the winner can't spend the prize on SSD. Seems fair, right?

See, RalchAC is already in on the deal
I might consider it if Flandy also joins in. Either way, the rules don't affect me. :)

5 x $10 because my luck is terrible. Even if only 6 people (including me) enter, I would most likely be the one person who doesn't win.
