Missed it because I thought it was just a brawler, but looks like there's some real depth to it. Thinking about this or VC2. How does it play on the vita?

It's great. You can remap the camera to the right analog. It's not really required though since the L button can auto lock on to the target

So I'm ready to jump on the Vita 2000 train!!! just sold my OG vita for 140$ with a 4 gig card on Craigslist. My daughter even got a free happy meal from the couple that bought it! So Gaf did I make the right decision? Will I be happy with the new vita?

I jumped on the 2000 train from my original vita and I am super happy I did. I think the 2000 is infinitely more comfortable to hold and I like the aesthetic of it better, and extra battery life and universal charger is always a plus. The fact that it came with BL2, a game I was gonna buy anyway, is just icing on the cake. In my honest untrained opinion, the screen is just as good on both models. I've been playing all my old games on the 2000 and never once did I think "oh hey this looks different than it did before", though I'm sure I would be able to tell side by side, maybe.

Thanks for the response. With the game and the memory card included it really is a great deal. I have long gangly fingers so I hope that with the touch pad smaller I wont be mistakenly hitting the back touch pad all the time now. Good to hear that the screen isn't a noticeable downgrade also.

Dammit flandy, just when I thought trails in the sky was going to be the only psp game I needed for the next two months...You had to go and get all positive on dissidia didn't ya? My body is ready, but my wallet is weak, all these $20 psp games just wrecking shop on it

wonder what will be the price of Soul Sacrifice Delta

Just about finished Ys Oath on Vita. I think anyway, based on story arc and wot not.

Are there other good action rpgs like this on Vita? I'm not so interested in turn based combat - though I am working my way through P4, and have Danganronpa lined up too. Working through Virtues Last Reward too. But I really fancy another game like Oath - not sure the other Ys are the same play style? Maybe I'll just play through the newest Zelda game on my sons 3DS - I started that a while back (Xmas) and enjoyed it.

edit: just bought Ys Seven

really want some
- Castle Crashers
- Scott Pilgrim

on my Vita

yes... was just trying to think of my "ultimate" Vita wish list

Strider 2014
consolized Diablo III + Reaper of Souls on super low settings with big numbers & letters
Phantasy Star Online 2 localization
Persona 3 FES + Persona 3 Portable getting the P4G treatment as a single game
Castle Crashers
real Tokyo Jungle port
Mark of the Ninja
Dust: An Elysian Tail
Cave Story+
Fallout 3: GOTY getting the Borderlands 2 treatment

Scott Pilgrim would be nice, too... whole top 10 could be PS1 & PSP games that still aren't on PSN here

I would kill for Diablo III... I feel the Vita could be an amazing console for isometric RPGs... But I think The Witch and the Hundred Knights is our best hope :(

I'm starting to think Phantasy Star Online 2 is not happening, we may have better luck with Nova.

Persona 3 Cobalt is the most likely bet of that bunch IMO. They could release it along the third movie to try and get some extra sales :)

If Dust is like Muramasa I'm in. I don't care about Fallout, If I had to choose a WRPG I'd choose something with words and magic... like Dragon's Dogma. That would be amazing. I'd take Kingdoms of Amalut too though, I never finished that game because the quests were generic (I've been playing WoW for 5 years, generic quests bore me more than the average dude xD) and the story wasn't that interesting. But the game was good and I'd happily play it again on my Vita.

Ys Memory of Celceta which is a Vita exclusive. And also Dragons Crown.
There's also Ys Seven which is another psp title.

Really been enjoying Demon Gaze, the pacing is spot on, and just watching numbers fly and fixing up your gear is quite compelling. Even the silly messages people write using the chalk system are kind of funny, whoever keeps writing 'I am Awesome!' Is certainly persistent, that message is sprawled all over the starting dungeons and I'm sure it's one individual.

Anyway despite some creepy moments, the core is solid and it's easy to sink several hours into the game. Glad I picked it up.

Seven and Celceta are very similar with each other, but very different from Oath. Oath is also harder.

i had missed the part where he asked if they were the same play style. Yeah they use different battle systems but they are still great. They all have the the core fun combat and fantastic soundtrack.

Off topic but do we have a PC troubleshoot thread?

My sister's laptop has a problem.

You see I installed Diablo 2 on her laptop so we could play coop. After installing it, we can't run the game but in the windows processes it's right there playing. I tried a bunch of different things but to no avail it doesn't work.

Then I found out that there are these random letters appearing on the upper left side of the screen. One letter at the time which ranges from A-Z to various special ones like $.

I kinda want to remove that bug and if possible make Diablo 2 work.

I did try searching if the problem was common but I couldn't find a fix. The best I could find was that it was somehow related to a hardware problem and most likely a video card overheating.

------

I played Muramasa and I'm done with Momohime's story and just started Kisuke's. I kind of find something odd with the Vita version of the game. I feel that it's a bit slower than the Wii version. Only the fighting though. I feel that I could pull off faster combos back on the Wii. Is it just me? Still a great game though. I love it plus the translations are actually close to what the characters are saying vocally.

Fallout 3 is the only game i want of those listed, a game like Diablo that is not Diablo 3(Torchlight? Diablo 2?) would be good too.

Honestly i would prefer ports of old but good pc games like:
Heroes of Might & Magic 3
Might & Magic 6
Some good managerial(like Sim City), strategy(like Starcraft), open world games/wrpg etc

They would be cheap to do, they would run well, they would be good and "exclusive"(console-wise) to Vita.

Seven and Celceta are very similar with each other, but very different from Oath. Oath is also harder.
In Oath there's just a lot of (annoying)grinding, there was a boss that i was not able to kill, i leveled up just 2 times and it was a piece of cake, only the last level is really hard but because if you don't jump correctly you need to redo big parts of the level and the enemies are really annoying.

So I have a PSN related problem with DoA5: Ultimate, or rather a little confusion and wondered if someone can help me out here.

First off, DoA5: Ultimate has a free2play version called DoA5: Ultimate Core Fighters and I'm using the German PSN, for whatever reason free2play games aren't allowed to be fully free here so Core Fighters costs 0.49€ which I didn't mind so I purchased Core Fighters for these 49 cents. All fine and well but this is where my confusion starts:

Before I "bought" Core Fighters I could purchase DoA5: Ultimate for 39.99€, though now that I have Core Fighters, the full version of DoA: Ultimate says "Buying Unavailable" same as the Full Version upgrade to Core Fighters. If I click on "More info" it says:

"To be able to buy DoA5: Ultimate or DoA5: Ultimate Core Fighters Full Version Upgrade you need to purchase the following:

DoA5: Ultimate Story Mode
DoA5: Ultimate Core Fighters Story Mode
DoA5: Ultimate Core Character Pack"

Okay so I have to purchase the Story Mode(s) and the Character Pack to be able to buy the full version now? o.o That actually sounds logical in a way since I should have the full version content with these three things but I wonder why there are two Story Modes listed for purchase plus there's another thing that makes me raise my eyebrows.

As said DoA5: Ultimate was 39.99€ when I still could buy it. The Story Mode unlock costs 19.99€ and the Character Pack 14.99€ which combines at 34.98€ so I wonder, where does the 5.01€ difference come from?

I wasn't sure if I should post this in the game's community thread but it seems more like a PSN related issue so I thought this thread is more appropriate. Thanks for any help in advance!

Diablo 2 is ancient - if your laptop has only intel gpu then i wouldn't be suprised if it's some kind of driver problem.

Am I the only one who thinks certain PSP games look TERRIBLE on the Vita? I bought Dissidia 012 and was so hyped until it loaded up. Crazy grainy to me. Am I doing something wrong?

Play Diablo 3 instead. 2 is too old and hasn't kept up with proper support for modern PC's.

Have you played Tearaway yet?
Was gonna buy it but that golden week sale ruined me.

Color will always be better on the Vita but because the resolution of the PSP games are lower than the screen of the Vita it's expected that it will look kinda blocky. Best PSP games played on the Vita are actually the 2D ones especially those sprite based games.

SSD got a lot more upgrades than people give it credit for. The size should be around 3.0 to 3.2 GB, but make space if you're interested just in case.

By people, do you mean Sony? :P

That reminds me, I need to try out Dissidia 012

I compared a few of them (the last one was GTA: Chinatown), and Vita always gave better overall results. I guess there are exceptions.

Do we know what Vanillaware is working on?

Same, just upgraded my original vita to the slim model. Same with the L/R triggers...

Unfortunately the L/R triggers didn't get a massive overhaul, but they are slightly better on the slim version. The rounded tops make them more comfortable if you have to hold them down for a long time (Spelunky) and they have a bit less front/back rattle. But overall mostly the same. Analog sticks are still awful, but the best you're gonna get on a handheld designed to be portable I suppose.

Though in the vita 2000 thread there were people saying they preferred the 3DS circle pad to the vita sticks. I know the sticks aren't the best, but what nonsense is that! The circle pad is horrible, especially the downward direction.

lol, this morning I remembered Valkyrie Profile was released for PSP and was all like, "im gunna get that shit on my new vita"

screw you square

Problem I have with vita sticks, due to them being super loose, is that they are hyper sensitive so I'll notice forward movement just by having my thumbs resting on the sticks

That makes sense, because I was going to add that Tactics Ogre looks really good on it. Lol

PS1 games always seem to look great.

Might be you misremembering how good certain PSP games looked? It really wasn't a very powerful machine.

For its time PSP was a lot stronger compared to the rest of the world than Vita is.

I'm also of the opinion that 3D PSP games tend to look a lot worse on Vita. It's because they're being upscaled 4x the original platform's resolution without any AA applied. Everything is blown out, and it tends to look blurry.

Original resolution:

Vita upscale (+/- bi-linear filtering):

I've said it in the past, but if they're not going to give us AA, at least allow us to display the game in its native resolution:

Yes, it's basically a thumbnail but at least the visuals don't look completely horrid.
