Damn, Sony got big losses :(
http://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/2014-05-01-sony-adds-USD200m-in-expected-losses

It is a remake of the first one isn't it ?
Wonderful if that's the case, between this and the Atelier games the Vita allows me to catch-up on entire series I missed the first time around.

Do we have a release date yet ?

Edit - Fuck, it's already in my .ods file, the 06/03 it seems.

Yes it's the one with all the improvements of Victory, out in late summer.

"Meet the Bony"

Excuse me if I keep posting about Binding & Minecraft, they're my easily most anticipated Vita games of the year, next to Hotline Miami 2.

God I am scared about when Binding comes to vita. It will hook me more than Spelunky did. Also, they said if you already own Binding you get Rebirth free, but I wonder how it works. I have PC version, so it would be cool if I got PSN version free, but it is a day 1 purchase for me either way.

That is a great deal just for the white crystal colored Vita.
I would keep the 32 card though, and drop the price to 150.

Far too good a deal, although if you want to move it ASAP, that's understandable. Still, 32GB cards alone sell for ~$60 after fees on eBay, and white Vitas themselves are kind of rare. The extras are just gravy.

That is pretty much a steal in my book!

That is a STEAL. I paid $200 for my
used!
White Vita alone, several months back. yea I may have gotten take for a ride a little bit, but it was worth it to me. I'd recommend what others have said, keep the 32, but I'd say that price is solid at $160.

Thanks the feedback, everyone. I think I'll keep the 32GB, but add in a 4GB card and a few extra accessories. Hopefully this Vita will find a home a with a GAFer.

I think they already announced t'll be free on plus the month it comes out.

Got a feeling it's going to be an expensive month in Vitatown. Definitely in for Borderlands 2, almost certainly going to triple-dip on GOW Collection. Picked up a 64GB card yesterday and Ragnarok Odyssey ACE today. Tempted by AC: Liberation. There's at least one new indie a week worth buying.

I'm going to need a second job to fund my habit.
I heard that. I'm tempted to start selling blood/plasma to fund some games. Life for life!!
New thread! :O

Drifter looks awesome, but can we go only left and right? I don't see going up and down in the trailer...
This was something I noticed as well...all thefloating debri seemed to be perfectly leveled with the ship...it looks like the game Starlight wanted to be. It definitely looks awesome, but what's the good of 10,000 lights years of travel potential if all you can do is left and right :(
Yeah the reason HSG came to mind immediately is because, well, by nature we won't give a shit about lag I suppose. That's the problem with Gaf, a lot of wonderful folks but with its international audience I assume it can become quite difficult to play together. Correct me if I'm wrong, evidently.
I don't think you could be more correct, actually. The group is strong, but the time zones kill us. I know I've kept more than one gaffer hanging (sorry Ralch D:) with MP requests....what's 7am for one, is 5pm for another, and so on. I'd say a revival of the HSG Community thread could make it slightly easier to organize the events. Worst case scenario, a bunch of one on one turn based challenges, where you don't have to be online at the same time! Sadly, only limited to one v one though.

What ? You mean the tourneys are real-time or something like that ? That's too bad T_T
Well in a way it's pretty cool but we substitute lag problems for time zones problems, like you said.

Strange, where did I pull that 06/03 date from ? Or has it been delayed since I noted it ? ( °_°)
Edit - Oh yeah, the gamefaqs release list.

June 3rd should be the release date. I pre-ordered mine from BB. The gematsu link says "late summer" although late summer is more like August.

They really should add an option to buy games that were once given away from plus.

I'll download Binding of Isaac for free day 1, but i want to eventually buy a copy so i can own it.

That's using your noodle! With the 4gb card, it is an excellent starter pack. Hopefully you can convert another gaffer. You're doing great work with that bundle, spreading the love, spreading the life!

Apologies, I don't feel I detailed it out well enough. The MP I have played comes in a few flavors -
1. "New Real Mode" : Up to 8 Gafgolfers play on a course, at the exact same time. Each persons ball is represented as a brightly colored ball on your screen, but there is nothing that can affect your play, unless you get distracted by pretty colors easily :D
2. VS Mode : Up to 4 players, turn based, like the VS mode. Unless you have a party chat with close friends playing this, STAY AWAY. I did this a while back with 4 people, and 9 holes took close to 2 hours D:
3. Turn Based Challenge : One vs One only. One person sets up the course and rules, and then sends an invite to another player. Once that person accepts the challenge, the host will go first, once they hole out, you can send the play data plus a short comment to your opponent. A system/game notification will be sent to them, it has a slightly different look than a standard message. once the opponent gets the notification, they can launch the game and go to the match. Once loaded, the second player sees the first persons turn, and then they go. Once they hole out, the play data is sent, and then they move on to the next hole. AFTER the first hole is played by both, when your turn comes up, you usually watch your opponent, do your turn, and occasionally get to go to the next hole while you wait for your opponent to do the same. It's a lot like the mobile games Word With Friends, or Draw Something, with "push notifications".

So we can indeed get a full 8 player live tourney going, just gotta organize it!

Just started Disgaea 3 again after a long break and well...
I don't remember what I was doing!!
I'm pretty certain I am in the exact same boat as you. It's been so long since I played, I doubt I will remember the "game breaking" mechanics that the game wants you to do. Or even half of the standard battle mechanics...I know I will likely just start over :(

what in god damn fuck @ Stealth Inc. 2 being exclusive to WiiU

now I know how hardcore Bayonetta fans feel, I guess... but damn, Stealth Inc on Vita was my sheeeeit. I'm in the top 7 times on almost every single level.

i blame everyone else for not buying it when it came out... son, i am dissapoint

Hey! I'm the dev working on Drifter and it is indeed 2.5D. Originally it was going to be top-down like Starflight (or Star Control) but I realized early on it looked way cooler from behind. In my defense I don't think that hurts the game as there are a lot of awesome 2D space games that have come before.

Yeah I am actually considering just outright buying it, depending on how much it is. There are months where I don't like the Plus games on offer and don't want to play my current library. I'd hate to have Binding held ransom!

Yeah, and its not like i'm going to be unsubbing from Plus anytime soon, ill probably be a member until the service itself shuts down, but i still just want to "own" a copy. Ill feel a lot better about it. I dunno, i guess its psychological or something

This is the same publisher that raises the price of older games when porting to PSN, it's not surprising they're more interested in finding a gold mine with the Wii U than making a sequel for the fans of the original to enjoy. Hopefully they'll be successful, and I'm sure the game will come out elsewhere eventually, but you should blame nobody but Curve Studios.

Hey, welcome! At that point I was just talking out of my ass, really. I've never played a game like it before, even going back to the classics. My initial concerns were regarding collisions, and unavoidable objects. After putting thought into it, and thinking of it as a flashy shmup of sorts, I could see how it'd work pretty well. Aside from that, like I said in a previous post, it looks killer so far!

I'll blame everyone and everything!

Yup. GoW, BL2, Demon Gaze and SS:D for me this month. I would totally have picked up Ragnarok Odyssey if it was cross buy with PS3 but I don't see the point in buying it just for Vita when I will have new Soul Sac to play soon.

Gotta write down what I do when I finally start Disgaea 4 Vita. Haha

Why is everyone so excited with Bound by Flame?

It's by the developer who made that awful Game of Thrones RPG, and it appears to be using the exact same game systems.

They also made a few other truly terrible RPGs....

I hear ya! One of the features I really enjoyed on the 3ds, though I never had a game where I needed it, but their "notes" app that you can load while playing any game, and then add in a screenshot of exactly where you are as well. Something like that would be killer on the Vita, with the amount of massively epic games on it.

Doesn't excite me much but it is something fresh for PS4 players to chew on

Just bought the BL2 bundle but son of a bitch. Amazon just started charging Florida tax. If I would gave bought it yesterday I could have saved $13. This along with the Prime raise is making me use Amazon less and less.

I was a bit let down at the 2.5D at first but you still have my attention. Lets hope your game ends up great :) Any chance the game will support Cross-Buy and will it have any multiplayer?

It's a bit early to say it'll be cross-buy for sure but that's ultimately what I want to have. While I'd like to have multiplayer it adds a ton of complexity and the game would probably never see the light of day, so it's single-player only for now :)

People are excited for that?

I honestly think I've never seen it mentioned more than 5 times in my life, and none of those times were positive.

Shame about the multiplayer even some CoOp would sound fun, but you still have my attention. Can't wait to try it out. I assume you want to release it by the end of the year?

I'm half way through LEGO Hobbit on Vita and it's becoming a slog. Ugh... I want to finish it tonight so I can trade it in towards the new Kirby tomorrow.

It's not a big loss (and tbh I think that in 6 months it will at least be announced on PC-4-V).

If it were Hotline Miami 2, Velocity 2x or a new Tempest, now that would have been pissing.

Lego games on portables are just absolute bore-fests.

And it's not even a matter of power. Wii got the PS360 version of Lego Batman 2, Vita got the shitty DS spin off instead

Eh, I doubt it. Keep in mind though that it's confirmed to be a Day 1 PS+ title.

Well since I am currently subbed to PS+ for the next six years or something from all these black friday deals, that is just as good as free for me! Though I hope whichever version is available for IGC (it's an indie so my gut says PS4) unlocks the versions on other systems too. Is this how it usually works for IGC games that are normally cross buy? Can't think of any offhand. No matter what the situation, I will download this game to my Vita the exact second I am able the day it comes out. Maybe get all the trophies too, but I have a bad feeling they will be harder than the Spelunky trophies...

Yeah that's what I'm currently aiming for.

Just found your kickstarter/website. You've been working on this game for a while :O If you don't mind me asking. How was your experience with Sony? Did they get in contact with you or did you contact them?

edit: you might want to update your website to say it's coming to PS4/Vita now

Uh, with the whole legacy titles incompatible, then compatible, then incompatible again... do you think if I backup Crash 1 to my PC I will be able to restore it ?
Just checking, Crash never clicked with me and Muramasa needs the space.

This is good news :D Keep up all the good work. Feel free to drop by here with updates if ya can or want.

I think this has been confirmed as working in this thread, mhea - Looks like all digital PSP / PSone games work on Vita now [Not Anymore] . I skimmed a lot of it in the later pages, where all that talk went down.

Drifter's kinda a big game! Thankfully it feels like we're closing in on 1.0 :)

My experience with Sony has been pretty excellent. They got in touch with me at GDC 2013 after someone caught wind of the game but I had previously expressed interest in porting at some point so it was kinda serendipitous.

Also, good point about the website!

I can't really find anything that says definitively it will be Cross Buy. I mean the only example I can think of is the Vita version of Limbo was on Plus but others weren't. That said, that title did use to be Cross-Buy. I'll happily buy it if not, Plus would just be icing on the cake.

Oh absolutely, and Wii got the full version of LotR too as far as I can tell, it's just easier for them to not bother. A shame, as I've said repeatedly Lego Star Wars II on PSP was one of my favorite games ever, such a lot of stuff to unlock, was perfect for portable play.
