PlayStation Plus Thread: Plus What? PLUS EVERYTHING!

Not sure if anyone besides me cares, but I've been trying to track how many ratings games gain from their Plus exposure. Haven't been doing a great job of it, but I think I've started to stay on track. Anyway...

Demon's Souls
Day Before Going on Plus: 360
Finally Off of Plus: 4241

Vanquish
Day Before Going on Plus: ~450 (Relying on my memory for this one)
Still on Plus, But Almost Gone: 2250

Sleeping Dogs
Day Before Going on Plus: 427
Now, One Day on Plus: 1600+

Hopefully all these ratings are just 1/1000th of the people that are downloading them and enjoying them.

Also, to put some of this into maybe some perspective, there are only a few things on all of the PS Store that have 10,000 ratings or more. So I'd say 4,000 for Demon's Souls is preeeetty good, but 2250 for Vanquish being up for three months now is downright sad. Shame on all of you! SHAME!

I've never rated anything on ps store :lol

If I havent bought PS Plus yet, and I plan to mostly solely play games on the PS4 once it comes out, does it make sense for me to get PS Plus now or just wait? I really wish the stuff you purchased, got through Plus, transferred to the PS4.

The longer you are subscribed, the more worth the service has, as the number of games linked to your account increases each month. On this basis alone it is worth getting as soon as possible.

However, I seriously doubt any PS+ content from PS3 will carry over to PS4. So if you do not plan on playing much PS3, then it is a waste of dollar completely.

You're the only one who can make that decision.

You have to factor in:
- PS+ costs $50
- there is still approximately 6 months until PS4 comes out
----> as a result you are paying $25 for PS3 access using PS+

- The only games available to you (for the said $25) will be the ones currently on the store as well as the future ones (which nobody knows what those are)
- Additionally, and this is not a fact but more of an educated guess, there is not going to be a lot of PS4 content initially available for PS+

Overall I'd say if you are not going to be using your PS3 *at all* once PS4 releases then you should not buy it. You will essentially be paying $50 for a 6 month PS+ subscription. You'd be better to wait until PS4 content ramps up on PS+ and then starting your subscription.

I'd recommend you just wait till E3.

It seems like a lock they'll go over their online plans there and that includes what exactly is happening with PS+ and the PS4.

PS+ is the best purchase I did in a long time. Last week I finished Sleeping Dogs. It's a great game, which I would have never bought because I was waiting for GTAV. This week I started playing Hitman Absolution. Also a truly great game. It's like the classic Hitman games, but they've added nuances from Metal Gear Solid 4 and of course: cover.

I've got 10+ other games downloaded on my ps3 which I intend to play. In the 5+ years that I've been a PS3 owner I've never played this much with the system. Playstation 3 purchase: redeemed.

No, Goldrusher jumped the gun with a number of those likely games, as they range from "possible in the future" to "maybe in a couple of months." Rayman Origins Vita was in the former, while Demon's Souls was in the latter.

I'm gonna puke.

From just this little information, I'd say wait until at least E3 to see what they announce. Though you should also take a look at the games available now and see if there are any you want. They're not going to transfer over, but you may want to play some of them while you wait for PS4? Also, who knows, two years from now Sony could finally get their Gaikai ducks in a row and make all games that have been Plus before free to stream for Plus subscribers.

Thanks for the advice. I'll just wait for E3 to see what their more detailed plans are for PSN and the PS+ Service. It is no doubt a fantastic value.

Nope, game just sucks.

Blasphemy!

How can you not like the game helping you out, don't you want that from the Hitman series...
I mean DAT Instinct!

/hehe

Also the Saints (Leather Dominatrix Nuns had a soft spot for me... I didn't want to kill them =/)

I wish Sony would show how many times a game has been downloaded on the store. What's to hide? I think showing the number would probably even encourage digital download growth in some odd way.

It would be nice, but this is Sony we are talking about
They are not very outspoken on this part of the business, everything is just hush

It also would be nice if they were more open towards a Trophy leaderboard, gave out info on how sales of DD titles are doing on a monthly basis rather than posting Top 10 lists

I agree to your point, if a game garners say 100,000 Downloads (Purchased), it can maybe push others to go what is all the fuss about, let me go see?

There has to be a few games that were million sellers for PSN right?

My Sony rep was saying to expect more in-store PS+ marketing at every retailer. SONY is really pushing it, he said the numbers of accounts that do not re-sup is extremely low.

The Vita portion in PS+ receive more PSP games now than actual Vita content. Sad.

Is there a way to check when your PS plus ends on the website?

Nope PS3/Vita only, as far as I know

Account Management > Transaction Management > Service List > Playstation Plus > Playstation Plus

Starts: ??/??/????
End: ??/??/????
Days Remaining

Never fucking mind you can, just look at your Purchased list of Media content, they all should have one expiry date, like so:

This is objectively incorrect. It's far closer to Splinter Cell Conviction than any previous Hitman game.
Interesting. It's been a while since I played the old Hitman games. I just looked up some videos on Youtube and you're right. The structure of the game is very different. Absolution is very punishing if you deviate from the "path".

Something I do like about Absolution is the structure of the game. Each level consists of linear parts and open parts. Much like the corridor/bowl structure from nearly all current gen shooters. It's a great way to pace the game.

Lastly, I want to say that the Rosewood level (orphanage) is super frustrating on Hard. There are just too many enemies, I simply can't figure out the patterns without trial and error (which causes the frustration).

It's actually a clever business tactic. Once you sub and download all those games, the moment you can't access them you'll want to sub again.

Really looking forward to ICO/SotC next month. I completed ICO but never did play through SotC. Never did pick up the HD classics either, probably my most anticipated PS+ month yet.
