Dont all games become non PS+ though? I mean we get the trials but then people can buy them no? Is Red faction not on there?

Yeah, all of those are available to everyone. I'm pretty sure I've missed one or two out. Prince of Persia springs to mind.

You forgot Warhawk, GT5P, Siren, SOCOM, but anyways, that's not for all regions though, LBP, AC, R6V2 is just for EU as of right now, Borderlands so far is just for US and I don't know where you heard Prototype was coming to PSN.

It's frustrating because prior to subscribing on a whim for PES'11 and possible GT5 content I was completely against the idea. Now that I've come around to the idea and appreciate the content and service it provides it's ended up slapping me in the face. I mean even if I get all the content back, it's a pain in the arse to do, and it's not like I let my sub lapse, I had it all set up to automatically renew.

I will try again today but actually I did it yesterday after the Store update (and before I commented on the blog) just to be sure it didn't change already...

If it's still not changed I will try to make some photo documentation of the steps I experience until Sunday or so.
 
Here's what I can get from the PC;

How the games list looks (note the two Vector TD games and the dates);


The download list with all of them re-added, again note the dates for Vector TD;


The missed charges, then the same card buying it the next morning;


And automatically add funds;


Trials and PS1 games, including some games like cuboid just worked automatically on the PS3 without any re-downloading. Others needed redownloading (minis) or activations (Critter Crunch for example).
 
Cigol, are you really sure your PS+ status actually expired? (like, did you try to start a PS+ game before you re-subscribed to PS+ / noticed that you lost your PS+ cross?) Maybe they try to add funds before the sub ends or the process is different with auto-renewal active.
Someone who already auto-renewed may commend on this, but I believe that the files on your PS3 don't automatically extend their expire date, so you would need to start them up or redownload them/the keys anyway to get rid of the expire status.

oh and btw, Cuboid etc. is from this month's PS+ update, so you wouldn't lose it anyway because it's still the same month.


e.g. I just clicked to buy Sam&Max (linked by Episode 1 which reverted to trial status) and Syphon Filter PS1 (linked by launching it) and nothing has changed (they don't reactivate and I can only actually buy them).

Media Go and the Store on the PS3 also both display the same for my download history/list: just the PS+ Themes, DLC, betas, avatars. All the older PS+ rented PS1, Mini and PSN game are missing despite the account's regained PS+ status.
 
Well I don't know what has happened exactly, but it definitely expired since I didn't have the '+' next to my name when I logged onto the PS3, and I checked in the relevant section of the account management page where it also stated it had expired.

If you check the first image (click it to blow it up bigger) you can see two Vector TD mini's listed, one has a circle with a cross in it the other without. If you hover over the one with a cross it says 'expired' - all the other minis/ps1 games there have this expired icon too. Games on my PS3 had also expired (Critter Crunch defaulted to trial mode).

Someone who already auto-renewed may commend on this, but I believe that the files on your PS3 don't automatically extend their expire date, so you would need to start them up or redownload them/the keys anyway to get rid of the expire status.

well then I have no idea what's going on :lol Maybe they really changed something but it isn't retroactive?
 
Is it time to join Plus? I really want in on that DCUO Beta. If Jaffe does a Twisted Metal beta for Plus subscribers, I'd die happy!

US PSN+ betas are not for everyone and are distributed very shady like way. For instance they told everyone that first 5000 US users who DL the theme would get a code/invite. Myself and others DL the stupid theme before it went up on the store(had to search for it or go to theme section) but we all didnt get counted and the late lazy fucks got invited instead.

If you are a EU PSN+ user, chances are they will place the actual beta to DL for everyone plus get 2x the amount of invites/chances.

Just EU, and perhaps it is also fixed for EU people expiring now.

In either store, make sure you have funds in your wallet and auto-renewal switched on before your expiry date, though. Otherwise you may need to redownload all your content.

Yeah, the deals are awesome when it comes to PS+. I hope Sony starts adding more PS2 games on the store with the same deals.

they don't have any of the ps1 games i want on sale except for MK 2 which i bought. why isn't soul reaver or legacy of kain or RE 2 on sale!

It's hard to tell if you hate shmups or not from the previous post. :) Yeah, about half are shumps, the rest are puzzle games or fighting game (okay, one fighting game iirc). Monkeypaw games has pretty good descriptions and surprisingly honest reviews. But for what I know:

Gaiaseed: A shmup made for normal people. Not bullet-hell like new ones, not a vicious memorization game like R-Type, just kinda easy thanks to the recharging shields (and rather short). Famous for the soundtrack. Oddly rare though, even after it came out on the PSN in Japan physical copies were still worth $150.

Cho Aniki: Hit youtube. It can't be sufficiently described. Seriously. This version is notable for using digitized photos for a lot of the in-game graphics.

Money Idol Exchanger: Apparently plays a lot like Critter Crunch, even though nobody at Capybara had heard of it. Supposed to be a knockoff of Magical Drop F, which is also available on the import store.

But go to http://monkeypawgames.com/, they have really good descriptions of every game, complete with directions on how to play them. If you buy any of these games, you're probably going to want to go there anyway.

In Europe, as long as the user is using the same PSN ID, all the content that they have previously downloaded will be available in the PSN download list, which they can revisit and re-download.

That's precisely the SCEA policy, as far as I can tell. And it appears contrary to what SCEE support has told y'all.

It would be helpful if folks who've lost stuff could try ONE MORE TIME. Perhaps SCEE changed something (and that's why Cigol had a different experience).

Edit: Also, the SCEA person wrote back to say that the folks having trouble should definitely contact support again. If you have the time, I'd recommend that route too. I know you shouldn't have to. :|
 
Episode 3, 4, and 5 downloaded just fine. Downloading 2 atm and 1's in queue. Maybe there's something wrong with the 1... i'll let you know.

Here's what's happening now. I am trying to get the "bundle", but it gives me an error when I use the download button. If I add to cart, it adds fine, but get the error when I try to check it out. If I try to add the individual episodes to the cart, it says the content can't be selected at this time. I noticed all the individual episodes are marked "free" in the store, without a plus icon... so somebody fucked up on that. Perhaps it's that fuckup that is preventing me from downloading the Plus version.

Another example of those pesky people in charge of updating the store, who have all week to get it ready, still somehow manage to screw it up more often than not. :|
 
Wait do the Plus deals offered earlier in the month expire after each update? I thought they lasted a bit longer? I want to get Hustle Kings but I haven't gotten around to it yet :/

Do you have to download all 5 episodes to be able to play it? I'm short in HDD space.
I'm thinking you have to because there's only 1 unlock file.
 
I got Sam & Max: The Devil's Playhouse several months ago, long before it was offered through Plus. The episodes were all offered individually, and run independent of each other. The only episode that has an unlock file is the first one.
 
Did anyone else sign up for the Japanese store's playstation plus and is really disappointed? I just looked at the offerings for December and it's just a free ps1 game and some free trials of old psn games. The subscriber content just seems really lacking when compared to the US and Europe.
 
Can't believe they still haven't gotten Sam & Max working. I mean, it boggles my mind that they can turn even something like this into an all night and morning long task akin to brain surgery. How on earth could they have even messed it up to begin with, and worse, do they not even test store updates out while they are sitting on their hands all week in preparation for Tuesday?

It's probably less akin to brain surgery, and more like trying to merge business bureaucracy with technology. Sometimes annoying shit happens.

It could simply be that they don't know what the problem is. Want them to push back your Plus renewal date by 2 days?

no you don't have to download all 5 to play.i just downloaded first two and i was able to play.
