Thinking of signing up for plus today. If I subscribe now, I'll get everything released so far in may, right?
Is the anniversary coming soon or anything?
Yep. Service began 1 July 2010, I believe.End of June i think
The anniversary is June 29th but they haven't announced if they'd be giving a special offer for it yet. AFAIK only some Europeans had that problem. Is the anniversary coming soon or anything? Mine just expired and I need to reup.Is there a problem with reupping and still not gaining access to previously downloaded games for the US or was that just Europe who had problems?
Shouldn't the June Preview be up by now?
Yeah, yeah. The anniversary is June 29th but they haven't announced if they'd be giving a special offer for it yet. AFAIK only some Europeans had that problem.
EDIT: Others may be faster but my date is the correct one.![]()
Morgan Haro confirmed on Twitter that it'll be next week. dat PS+ revamp.
The second Plus was announced I thought at some point they would remove the free games perk from it, and instead do a netflix like streaming service with a monthly fee for the back catalog of games sitting on the virtual shelf collecting dust.
After all they removed the free games perk from Qore without warning and moved it to something that costs more. Of course they're gonna do it again.
Qore never really promised free games per say. It just so happened that they chose to include them to people. Qore did still come with free themes and stuff even when PS+ was out.
you were never promised free games with Qore, It gave Calling all Cars for free with the subscription but it was never part of the thing that you would keep getting free games at least from how I always understood it.You kind of were promised free games when you got one just for signing up.

I might be wrong though but Playstation Plus always promised free games from the start.

Doesn't mean it always will. They can change the Terms of Service at any time. Just wait for the spin: "With Cloud storage, Qore, and discounts on extended warranties we feel Playstation Plus still provides gamers with exceptional value for their money."
Thanks, I hope they give crap for fee in June and then hopefully they have a slight discount again.
I would rather have the crap for free, personally.
Last year at this time they had a 3 months free with annual sub deal. I hope they increase the storage this year. 150MB isn't enough, and clearing space is a pain in the ass without a decent ui.
Does not compute. The cloud is a backup of the one on the HDD. All games directly access the local version, not the cloud...Now that I have PS+ every game asks me for cloud saving which I say no to. With the amount of downtime the service suffers with maintenance and stuff I don't want to be held hostage by not having my save information.
I have my HDD and that is good enough for now, that way I know I'll always be able to play offline. I can't see where having a cloud save is a good thing.

Even in such cases, all you have to do to activate the PSN PLUS games again; is to go to your download list, then hit the download button on your freebies. This will reactivate your games with the remaining days of your new sub, and now you simply cancel the download, since the content is already on your harddrive.I realize that the PS+ games are supposed to re-new the instant you resub, but I've heard horror stories where people have done that, and they remain inactive, forcing them to look through their download history and re-download all of their PS+ content. I just didn't want any of that.
But I guess I'll just buy a 1year sub right now, thanks guys!![]()

I'm glad it asks though. If i'm playing a small game like golden axe, I don't want this being saved on the cloud, only my high profile games. It does ask for demos, however something like GT academy I want it saved on cloud. I'd rather it ask than not, hitting the left directional button to say yes or pressing x to say no is trivial anyway. I know because, after my 60gb went under with a tonne of save files since launch, it was a real pain in the mama-jamma.It annoys me that it asks to save even on demos, if I am not mistaken. However PS+ cloud saves are a god send. When my fat ps3 broke I would have lost an insane amount of progress & grinding time in Demon's Souls.
Also it's a great way to transfer save files if you have more than one Ps3.

LOL Wut? I'm not even sure what you think cloud saving does and how it works, but you have one or more things wrong.

Weird... Why doesn't it just do it on it's own then? I still don't see a purpose to it or why I would need to use it.
why backup anything ever?
I'm a Mac user, all my computers get backed up behind the scenes and I don't even think about it. It is built into the OS and has been for years. Thats how this should work. Click and forget.
Click and forget on PS3 too then?
It asks you once for each new game you start. Hit yes and it will upload daily to the cloud. Dont have to think about it.So there is an option to always save to the cloud as well so it doesn't ask me each time I boot a game? If not, can I turn off the message so it doesn't appear like if you don't have Plus? Sounds like a cool feature if it could hold all my save files. If not sounds like an annoyance unless it is a permanent feature.

PS3 is so frustrating!!!It asks you once for each new game you start. Hit yes and it will upload daily to the cloud. Dont have to think about it.
There must be something major coming for PS Plus. Amazon is offering 30 days free trial with the purchase of Uncharted 3 and some other games. Dunno if that's new, but it has me hype!
They've done this before. Don't read too much into it.
I don't think it has those options. You have to agree to cloud save for each game the first time you boot them. This is because of the limited 150MB storage, that way you can choose which games you don't want taking space. So there is no option to auto save to the cloud or turn off the question screen? I either want one or the other.

That doesn't annoy me. What does annoy me is its lack of immediate automatic syncing like on steam and origin. You have to schedule cloud syncs. And on a fresh PS3 format the cloud saves don't automatically sync to your system, you have to manually copy your cloud saves onto your system.
So there is no option to auto save to the cloud or turn off the question screen? I either want one or the other.
I think the only way to turn off the question screen on all future games is to completely turn off automatic updates through the system settings. Doing that however turns everything off. Other than that, you'll continue to be annoyed. So there is no option to auto save to the cloud or turn off the question screen? I either want one or the other.
I don't believe there is a way to turn off the question screen altogether. However, it only asks the question once for each game in your collection, upon the first time you play that game. Not every time you play, just the first time.
If you later change your mind, then you can select the icon for that game (not the saved data, but the executable) in the "Game" category, and press the Triangle button to change the option.
I'm running into it way more because I downloaded all the "free" games so I'm switching a lot to freshly played games right now. I see now that is why it is annoying and might not be normally.
