Also, forgive me for almost double-posting but I didn't want to bury this in an Edit:

For the people who are looking for additional HDD space like I was for Uncharted 3 or for any other PS+ download, don't forget about the Game Data folder like I did. Tons of games install some of their data onto the hard drive that's not Save Data, and that easily kills a ton of space. It doesn't affect your save games either, so if you've got single player games you know you won't touch for a while look in the Game Data folder. Chances are good you'll be looking at a 2GB+ "install" for that game just sitting there taking up space.

Infamous examples include Gran Turismo 5 eating up 11 GB on my HDD...

I can download most my things by finding it in the store, but certain things you can only access through your download list I noticed like Infamous1.

I get this on my PS3, but only occasionally. It happens both in the PS3 store app and in the system download list under Account Management -> Transaction Management. I think I have around 1400 items in the download list.

What was the subject of the email you received?

Also, I have purchased WWE shows through the video store before. I don't know if that might have mattered or not.

I don't really know where else to post this but I just finished Uncharted 3 and thought it was really good. Story was like, whatever, but I had a lot of fun the whole way through. Great set pieces! I think the backlash was a little unwarranted.

I started it up 2 days ago and have been forcing myself to play it. All those years ago I beat UC1 in like 2 sittings, and even though 2 was more of the same it was easy to put up with it because of its presentation. But now with 3 it just feels so..worn out. I platinumed both of the first two games but now I simply can't stand the combat or the platforming in 3. So boring, so easy..I purposely try to stealth my way through everything just to avoid the gunplay, even though shooting everyone in the head is 10x faster. The only thing that keeps me going is the good old Indiana Jones feel. Otherwise, man, this series is just too light on gameplay for so many entries.

edit: I should clarify that these complaints aren't specific to 3..I barely see a difference between 3 and 2 honestly. If 3 had been 2 and 2 was the third entry I'm playing now I'd be just as bored. Actually, so far 3 is better than 2 for the Jason Statham guy.

The UC3 PS+ download is a clusterfuck. How are people who don't roam message boards frequently are supposed to know what you need to finally play the SP part?
Downloaded the SP part. Installed it... no icon. downloaded and installed it again... no Icon... Then downloaded 2D movies..,. still no icon. Went to gaf and read that you need the MP part.
Downloaded the mp part. You have to enter over the mp part and then highlight "campaign" to start the SP. What a chore.

Actually, I would think they will even increase the amount of full PS3 games and keep PS+ available for PS3 until they officially discontinue the console/the servers.

It gives them a continuous stream of income on an old console and PS+ people will more likely to transition to PS4 at some point I guess.
In 1-2 years they could basically turn the PS3 into some sorts of Netflix-for-games console. By then, new releases will consists mostly of sports games and other stuff for casuals etc. So apart from that you could offer a lot of the whole PS3 library for "free". No real loss, just makes your content subscription attractive for people out of the loop.



I just hope that on PS4 we will be allowed to play the PS+ PS3 games via Gaikai (maybe even w/o needing an additional Gaikai sub)

Rad, thanks guys! I had turned on automatic updates, so when I woke up this morning it had finished all of my downloads. I also really like that the system tells you what patches it applied when you boot up. It IS kinda weird that it doesn't apply patches for things you have on the system but haven't booted up apparently though; I just booted up Sound Shapes (which was one of the games that downloaded overnight) and it required me to download an update. If the game required an installation first I could see that, but just weird that it didn't grab the patch for this automatically, or maybe it would have tomorrow, it just can't download the game AND patches at the same time overnight? Not a big deal either way though. When I get home tonight gonna log in through the webstore to grab all of the current free games.

Oh yeah, is there any way to see what size HDD you currently have in the system? I couldn't find it anywhere. This is a ~5 year old system that just has the HDD it came with in it, and I have no idea how big it is except that it's probably pretty small. Not gonna happen short term, but I'm really going to need to upgrade this thing at some point, I think it might be a 40gig?

To see what size your HDD is go to "system information" on the XMB, pretty sure it's under "system settings".

The PPV stream on Live Events Viewer hasn't started yet. I already got a "country not supported" error when starting it up offline one time. It hasn't come up after that.

The app is not in the store, even though the FAQ says so.

The app needs an internet speed of 4Mbps minimum, 8Mbps recommended. I only have 3Mbps I hope this doesn't ruin the stream for me.

Just signed up for PS+, and also bought Sound Shapes and Unfinished Swan. At the moment there actually aren't a lot of IGC games that I didn't already own (I have Uncharted 3, and have X-COM, Machinarium and DX:HR on PC), but I've been meaning to play Vanquish for a while and I'll give LBP Karting and the PSN games a go. Plus now if I ever get a Vita I literally have the two games I was most likely to buy (Golden Abyss and Gravity Rush), plus a few more. Made sure to start downloading then cancel so they're "purchased".

I was holding out because I have SO MANY games to play, but fuck it. It's a good value and I'm going to be buying games no matter what I do, might as well get some cheap/free PS3 games.

If you're talking about the EU June update, they added most of the games in late May/first week of June.

The annual update is apart from the regular monthly updates. The june update has already been talked about, it's Deus Ex, Saints Row 3 and I don't remember, then VLR and God's Eater on Vita (for US I mean).

I was thinking that Driveclub was just going to be there for the year and that was all we were going to get on the PS4 side of things. There is two ways to look at it. They may neglect it because they automatically get more money ... or they may make it way better because they get more money. I don't see the point in making Plus a worse off product. If they have more money, make it better and the PS4 becomes a more attractive proposition, esp in relation to it's competitors

Update on Live Events Viewer:

Even though the app promised to stream today's WWE PPV Payback, it's instead streaming Elimination Chamber from last February. On top of that, the controls to skip ahead or back, and to fast-forward and rewind are all disabled. I restarted the app hoping that it was a glitch, but no, it started EC to the very beginning again with the disabled controls.

What horseshit.

At least it looks and sounds alright on a 3Mbps connection.
