PlayStation Plus Thread: Plus What? PLUS EVERYTHING!

You ever notice how the PS+ updates on the blog almost always seem to go up after 10AM PST, yet the first comments on the posts are always timestamped at either 8AM or 9AM PST?

That sale looks pretty ok.

July 2nd – 9th
Shadow of the Colossus (PS3) – Regular Price: $19.99 Sale Price: $9.99 PlayStation Plus Price: $5.00

July 9th – 16th:
LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes (PS Vita) – Regular Price: $19.99 Sale Price: $9.99 PlayStation Plus Price: $5.00

Nice.

Might need to grab that Prince of Persia game for $4. That's not the one with Nolan North, is it?
Neither of those is Prince of Persia 2008.

Forgotten Sands is the reboot from a year or two ago. The trilogy is obviously HD remakes ports of the PS2-era games.

I thought Forgotten Sands was supposed to be a sequel to Sands of Time.
Didn't know this. Did Mechner help? If not, I'm probably still not interested. (Sands of Time was the only one worth a damn from the PS2-era trilogy. They gave it a good shot with Two Thrones, but it ultimately came up short.)

From Wikipedia:
Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands is the title of four separate games with different storylines. The main game was developed for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Microsoft Windows, while the other three are exclusive for the PlayStation Portable, Nintendo DS, and Wii.
lolwut (emphasis added)

They're not remakes; they're ports.
Good point.

Chronologically, Forgotten Sands would take place after SoT. It's a pretty decent TPS action adventure game and I enjoyed what I played of it.

I have a psn+ account for my vita so i have a lot of games downloaded but i hate my username. I want to get psn+ on a different account. Now if i switch my vita over to this new psn+ account can i still get access to my previously downloaded games on my old account? I believe I did most of my downloading straight onto my vita. Also, do saves stay with the account or are they on the memory card?

Can anyone answer this for me. :(

I guess the basic questions for me are:
  1. Does it sufficiently improve the combat of SoT? (I would presume so. SoT was fun to play once for the combat, but upon a second playing it the battles are interminable and have limited variation in moves. In a word: boring.)
  2. Does the story hold up to the one in SoT? The characters and writing in SoT were really quite good, in my opinion. Just that opening speech gets me every time:
Most people think Time is like a river, that flows swift and sure in one direction but I have seen the face of time and can tell you they are wrong. Time is like an ocean in a storm. You may wonder who I am and why I say this. Sit down and I will tell you a tale like none that you have ever heard.
Knowing the events leading up to the ending, this takes on particularly important meaning.

not 100%, but on vita pretty sure once you sign in as a different user, the games wont be playable anymore. As for saves, id imagine it be both on the cloud and card. Did you try signing off your vita to see if the games worked?

You can't play games from different accounts on the Vita. :(
Some saves are on the actual game cartridge, you can tell because you can't upload them to the PS+ cloud storage without the game in the system. Others aren't. And I don't know if the saves are tied to accounts, but I think they are.

Basically, bug Sony to let people change their PSN name.

When the blog posts are delayed (which let's be honest happens from time to time) I always get worried that I'm going to be disappointed by whatever is revealed.

At least the summer sale is good, so I can't complain too much :D

Forgotten Sands is good. Much more playable than the other sot games here in 2013. And definitely a better game than Warrior Within. Maybe Two Thrones, too, but I don't remember how good that was.

Disagree wholeheartedly. Forgotten Sands, while enjoyable, is entirely forgettable. Warrior Within remains the pinnacle of PoP platforming and I'd argue has the most interesting combat mechanics as well.

Ah man, this sucks, I wanted to redeem one of my 1 month trial codes today since it's the last day to get Deus Ex, but it's showing up as invalid. By the time I resolve with the ebay seller who sent it it'll probably be too late. Blech, I really wanted to try the game out!

What I take away from this is that crazy people who like Warrior Within don't care about Forgotten Sands.

I assume you also eat babies.

"Yooooo! WASSSSSSSSSSSSSSUUUUUUUP! SIGGY! PHIDO!"

I had someone draw this for me a while back. xD

The odd thing about PS+ for me is that eventually I probably buy the free game physically anyway since juggling disk space and dealing with d/l times is a small hassle. But even then it is still so best. It's like Sony is drawing us in with a siren's song at the bottom of the sweetest smelling pitcher plant full of treasure; this can't go on forever.

But I'll take as long as they give.

Man, where is the update? It's taking forever :(

I have a feeling that we'll get another Square Enix game for the third month in a row, probably Hitman which I'd be OK with. Still hoping for Catherine and Rayman Vita.

Every time I see this thread updated I think we'll know what the games for July are only to leave disappointed.

Of course I just did that to someone else..
